Thanks for the breakdown. I'm currently replacing my shock as it's clunking, also while in there also replacing the pushrod. This helps me a lot as I'm also missing the breakaway safety cable clearly shows the routing and re-assembly!

So far I've replaced the pushrod, shock, master cylinder and breakaway cable. Glad the video helped. I have to refer to it myself when I do maintenance.

Thanks for posting this. I really needed it last year when I had my unit apart! Somehow when I reassembled it (after mistakenly removing the front 'pin') it ended up changing from a 2" ball to a 1-7/8" ball. I have not idea what I did wrong there. Any ideas?

I think you may have installed the latch incorrectly. The A-60 is for a 2" hitch ball. You can't use a 1-7/8" ball. The latch is probably not closing under the 2" ball because of the installation. Not knowing what you took apart, I can only guess what the issue is. I suggest you look at this latch area, starting at 12:53 in the video and compare it with yours. I had removed that hitch pin and took out the spring. It was a tricky part to put back in and I think that's where your problem is. The spring can go back in either direction. I think you have it reversed. Maybe the latch is not in the right position either, but this seems to be the problem area. Good luck :)

Would have been more helpful to show removing the mechanism from the trailer.

Hi Jeffrey thanks for the comments.
There are different set ups for this unit. Some are welded to the frame and can't be removed. Others, like mine, are removable and people that have these know how to remove them from the owners manual.
If you don't have the instructions, here's how you do it:
Unplug the trailer wires and the brake line quick disconnect at the back of the mechanism. Remove the locking rings from the two pins in the coupler, remove the pins and slide out the mechanism.
