This song brought tears to my eyes as I look around and see so much hate over skin tone - realizing Jesus died for each of our sins, irrespective of ethnicity, gender, age or other differences immature people fight about. "Then Peter replied, 'I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. But in every nation, anyone who fears (respects) Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him.'" Acts 10:34-35
I am a Christian, I grew up listening to DC talk, and I still love the inspiration they gave me. You could say I started playing Guitar because of them. But It's not all because of them, Its because God used them to send me his message. God showed me through them what life is all about. Thanks Lord.

Six year old comment, but I’m gonna reply anyway. Kevin, Michael, and Toby just sound so good together, and complement the others perfectly. Beautiful.
As I read and study His Word, He came as the one spotless, sinless soul sacrifice FOR ALL WHO BELIEVE IN HIM, even us petty Gentiles, as He says that if ANYONE BELIEVETH UPON HIM, they ARE SAVED. ANYONE. Yes, the Jews are God, THE FATHER'S, chosen people, but they turned their backs on Him. God is a Father of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, and if you believe upon Him, IT DOES NOT MATTER what "religion" you are, as that is man made, then you are a part of His Bride that He is returning for. BELIEVE UPON HIM and you will be saved from eternal damnation! Thanks for all of your comments. Remember: the ONLY sin that can NOT BE FORGIVEN, is denying Him all the way to your earthly death.
This song refers to the fact that God is a master artisan, and that our differences in appearance should be celebrated rather than denigrated. Those racists among you, take note - God is no respector of persons. You will face judgment along with every other member of the human race, when time comes. We are all part of the same tapestry.
God also created the nations of peoples, each of them with an appointed land and border. When man tried to come together as one God got angered and separated us and gave us diffeent languages.
@@exposingantiwhiteism5091, God wasn’t angry that they came together. You totally missed the point of that story. They came together to build a tower that would reach the heavens. They were trying to get to heaven by their own power. They also missed the point! The only way we can get to heaven is through Christ, not through our own power. God was angry that his creation was trying to prove that they didn’t need him, so he showed them otherwise.
DC talk was a very honest band. I think thats why they eventually separated because they didn't want business to ruin their friendship. I will always love and respect Tobey (and Kevin but Tobey was more vocal about it) for his fight against racism. They were my favorite boy band as a kid--they were so cool to me and my brothers loved them too. we had the posters, books, all their cds and concert videotapes. Embracing all races is my creed. DCtalk was the best part of the 90s to me :)
Post-Man Sadly because it has a God themed based around it it won't be trending. Nothing Godly ever trends because the world acts like the world. It actually breaks my heart...
I grew up listening to DC Talk and Newsboys. Songs about God and loving/helping your fellow man. Kids grow up now listening to songs about sex, drugs, violence and money. It's really a shame. God has been taken out of everyday life slowly over time. We have lost our way.

Esa canción me ayudó a aceptar mi color de piel. Tenía 11 años cuando la escuché y sin saber inglés pude sentir el mensaje. Gracias DC Talk por esas letras.
Out of all DC talk songs this is the one that means the most to me. It defines me. I hate how AA's are considered "colored." We're all colors. Beautiful colors. The human race is a rainbow
In south Africa I'm classified as a " coloured" .we were not givin a specific name , some coloureds look fairly white and some look black.mixed race would sound much more offensive
"We are colored people who depend on a holy grace" - If we all listened to those words and allowed them to take ALL of us down a peg, these tensions today would soon evaporate. We should all show forgiveness because we're all in need of forgiveness.

I really never thought much of racism, I grew up in Idaho. But, I listened to and really liked DC Talk and Petra from like 1st grade. Fortunately though, I did meet an awesome brother in Christ many years ago, in my 20's at the same mental health outpatient clinic. We found out our circumstances were more similar to each other than my identical twin's are with mine. It was an awesome relationship that I know i will cherish forever. We both have the same diagnosis. We found so much comfort in our friendship. He is black and I am white. But, yes, it worked out very well.

TBN introduced me to this song in 2004,its 2 decades now and the song is as sweet as it was when i first heard it. Thank you Lord for preserving my life... its coloured people even in 2024
Now this is the type of Christian music I can get behind, where it's messaging is more honest, subtle and nuanced instead of pandering and overt. They care more about the art of their craft instead of preaching to the choir.
Wow, being a baby boomer that grew up with DC Talk is making me more excited about the seeing this video and hearing this song again. Remember that nothing is new under the sun. The world continues to make the same mistake like the Biblical times. Share this song Be a doer and not one with an opinion.
There is life in Christian music when I am feeling really bad inside I listen to my Christian music and it takes the bad feelings away praise be to God and thank God for all the Christians who make awesome music if it wasn't for them I would be dead already I cannot count how many times that my Christian music has brought me back to life again thank you sincerely from your brother in the Lord Alan.
Kevin Max changed, he left that evangelical gimmick which was actually a good move but claiming to be anarchist and socialist worshiping a "universal Christ" while supporting left-wing causes sounds like moves toward ANTIChrist to me...
I heard this songs for the first time in 2013, I cant believe they were released in 1995, its amazing, they were really ahead of their time! I WELCOME THEIR REUNION WITH ALL ME HEART!
Ahead of their time?! Nope. They suddenly turned from rap to grunge 2-3 years after grunge hit mainstream. Professional & well-produced compared to other CCM? Yes.
+emeraldtryangle I miss them too, but thankfully they're still around. TobyMac still does solo stuff, Michael Tait is with Newsboys now, and Kevin Max is with Audio Adrenaline.
I never saw a musical band like this. That takes the gospel to the youth through example and excellent music. I love you DC Talk. I hope to meet you some day. Greetings from Argentina 💪🏼
To DC Talk, all our brothers and sisters in Christ, and to Reverend C.L. Bryant - Thank you for serving Christ, and than you for saving so many lives and reaching so many souls ! God Bless you all ! :-)
i met kevin max last june, when he was on the road with the band the choir, and let me tell you he was the nicest friendliest person, and so was the band!! i have loved dc talk since i was a young teenager, but kevin was always my favorite voice of the 3!
I remember every step of the dance I did in eighth grade. That was twenty four years ago. "We are a skin kaleidoscope." It was true then and it is true now. If only people would "See the beauty in the tones of our skin."
when i died and went to hell then heaven and saw the face of the Lord...his face was forever changing. I did not want to come back to earth. But I AM here.
2020 and these words are more true today than ever. I pray one day we can see each other equal and not as different because of a skin color. Love one another as Christ loved you

Oh my lord...perfect song for our time and age right now people!!!!!! Doesn’t matter what’s on the outside only the inside why haven’t we learned that??? We’re smart right? Not smart enough .....
+David Tingwald The Bible actually says that there is only one race: the human race. There are different ethnicities, skin colors, and cultures, but only one race. Acts 17:6: all men and women come from one ancestor, Adam. That is the solution to racism: to recognize that we are all the same race to begin with.
+Marc A. I would disagree, based on the word blood as used in the Greek text. We are of one blood, seperate races, yet of one blood. After JCs birth, (death more particularly, opening the way up for all 'whosever would understand'. Hence no longer was Marys family bloodline (back to Adam and Eve), on both her moms lineage (Aaron, priesthood), her dads (David, kingship), brought back together at his birth, the only reason a particular bloodline was ever needed to be kept pure, for that one reason, alone. Do not add one period (jot) into a sentence when interpreting the ideas behind the words in that book. His death then opened the way unto all, with no religious tradition of man, of any kind, neccessary to be enlightened to JCs 'way' henceforth, period. If you exclude for reasons not according to JC ie skin color, races, you will have in deed done so unto your own self, now and on atonement day and in that sense, directly unto JC, even if/when following all JCs precepts in all other ways. Suffer the (all) children...! The ignoring of which, has penalties. From what I've read anyway. js.
DC Talk have always been so creative with their lyrics and sound. They never were ashamed of ministering God's word through their music. Gosh, every song of theirs takes me back when I was a teen in the 90s.
This is, imo, the best song this band recorded. It is timeless and full of truth. Repentance is key because we all stand before God in need of his grace.
2020 please watch this. God please help all of us. No matter age, race, and religion. Please bless all your children and put your hand over all of us tonight. We love you Lord. Thank you for showing mercy on such a sinner as myself. I LOVE YOU, GOD!!
We need this message just as much today as we did in 1995. My heart breaks for the division in our world right now over race. God loves us all, and calls us to love each other regardless of race or gender or any ism. "Let us love one another, for love is of God." I pray God's people will lead the way in breaking down barriers between the races and uniting in a spirit of love.
One of my favorite dc Talk songs of all time, so beautiful in every sense of the word. I've never seen the official video for this song, but it's rather fitting that I'm watching it for the first time today, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. You did NOT die in vain, Dr. King.
Don't get me wrong, but this song is MORE relevant that it was 25 years ago. There is beauty in the tones of skin.
So true.

Amen!
THIS SONG SHOULD BE OUR WORLD ANTHEM !!!! 🌎🌍❤️
Yes, this is the awesome power of God, he is still relevant and powerful in todays world
“By God’s design, we are a skin kaleidoscope!”
Probably my favorite line in this song besides " this thing of beauty is the passion of an artists heart".
therefore we should not blend all the colors together into one mass of brown, but respect each people and culture and allow them to thrive.
We sure do need these precious words now. God keep all three of these men in your hands as they tell it like it SHOULD be.
Yes.
A perfect song for such a time as this.
This song was such a huge part of my childhood. God bless DC Talk. I miss these guys.
+emeraldtryangle I miss them too, but thankfully they're still around. TobyMac still does solo stuff, Michael Tait is with Newsboys now, and Kevin Max is with Audio Adrenaline.
+axisfighter Actually Kevin Max went back to his solo stuff once he left Audio A.
Mine too. He was unreal. Wow!! Just tickled my imagination so vividly.
Not a Big Fan of Christian Music, but Love this Song.
Why can't people just "get this!?"
2020 and these words are more true today than ever. I pray one day we can see each other equal and not as different because of a skin color. Love one another as Christ loved you

Such a beautiful song, video, and message. Let's thank the Maker of us all.
I think it’s been like over 15 years since I heard this. I still know all the words from this song. Such a great song. Miss the 90s Christian music.
Oh my lord...perfect song for our time and age right now people!!!!!! Doesn’t matter what’s on the outside only the inside why haven’t we learned that??? We’re smart right? Not smart enough .....
90s music video cliches seem so dated, but this music has aged very well.
+africkinamerican , it seems that I post this link on Facebook at least once every week or two. Its message is so powerful and pointed to me.
+africkinamerican I know, it still seems so recent and its definitely still a hot topic (race).
+David Tingwald The Bible actually says that there is only one race: the human race. There are different ethnicities, skin colors, and cultures, but only one race.
Acts 17:6: all men and women come from one ancestor, Adam. That is the solution to racism: to recognize that we are all the same race to begin with.
+David Tingwald That should be "Acts 17:26;" sorry for my typo.
From what I've read anyway. js.
January 2017 and this song STILL speaks volumes!!!
DC Talk have always been so creative with their lyrics and sound. They never were ashamed of ministering God's word through their music. Gosh, every song of theirs takes me back when I was a teen in the 90s.
I was a college student just turning 21 and enjoying being a "Bohemian believer)
Jesus Freak defined rebellion for me!
Amen.
@@africkinamerican you got the rebellion part right
Can't say Kevin had those motives. Look up Kevin Max deconstruction faith.
Who else wants to see D.C. talk play this song on Black Lives Matter Street in DC. With a bunch area churches from ALL walks of life in attendance?
Such a great song. It says it all, repentance is the cure. Without God in our hearts there is no end to the hate.
DC Talk are prophetic
This is, imo, the best song this band recorded. It is timeless and full of truth. Repentance is key because we all stand before God in need of his grace.
Prays the Lord and all His creative glory! This devine message needs to be heard now more tha ever
this song was truly light years before it's time... We need this message more now than EVER!
DC Talk Rocks!
2020 please watch this. God please help all of us. No matter age, race, and religion. Please bless all your children and put your hand over all of us tonight. We love you Lord. Thank you for showing mercy on such a sinner as myself. I LOVE YOU, GOD!!
This song is needed now more than ever before
even more in 2019!
um no karen
We need this message just as much today as we did in 1995.
My heart breaks for the division in our world right now over race. God loves us all, and calls us to love each other regardless of race or gender or any ism. "Let us love one another, for love is of God."
I pray God's people will lead the way in breaking down barriers between the races and uniting in a spirit of love.
Always blows me away the level of production on this album. Every song is just perfect, cannot flaw it one bit
Erst kürzlich wiederentdeckt - war vor Rund 20 Jahren eines meiner absoluten Lieblingslieder!
🙌🙌
With everything going on in our world, we need to remember this today and always!!
Dc talk was the shit back in the day. Good ole 90's Christian music.
Yup
One of my favorite dc Talk songs of all time, so beautiful in every sense of the word. I've never seen the official video for this song, but it's rather fitting that I'm watching it for the first time today, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
You did NOT die in vain, Dr. King.
We need to hear this song because the generation that we live in today is sad 😞
An excellent song by a excellent band. Kevin's voice is incredible. To God be the glory!!!!
There love of unity and God was why I loved them so much.
