The only way you lose is if you already used a Supporter card to draw the JWittz card, and then either your opponent wins his/her last prize card on his/her very next turn or you have no cards left in your own deck on your next turn.
Mariomaster500 yes, and whirl islands. I love all those energies. Wish they did those animations on energies every gerantion, maybe switch it up once or twice two. That would be a cool mini set
Yeah I think it’s ridiculous that Lugia, being guardian of the SEA (as many PokéDex entries state), is freaking Psychic type especially since most of the moves it can learn is water type moves. Seriously Pokémon? Why do you do these things to us?
It's a reference to the fact that Lugia was supposed to be /Water, but they changed it to Psychic both because it was a Type the developers generally associated with strong Pokémon and to not hammer in on the "water disasters" concept due to a somewhat recent (at the time) disaster (I think it was a tsunami, but I'm not sure). This was stated in an interview; I suspect Lugia being often Water in the TCG is a reference to that.
Personally I think Pokemon TCG has the best artwork out of any TCG. They feel like paintings that have some story or vast habitat behind the Pokemon who's just minding there own business, grazing across the plains or oceans or exploring a bustling city.
FALSE! If you put four of 'em in your deck then the chances of drawing any number of them in your starting hand is nearly 40%. If you don't get one AT ALL in your starting hand then every draw thereafter you have (Number of JW Cards in deck) out of (Total number of cards in deck). This means, that the first card you draw after taking your hand and setting 6 prize cards, if you do not have any JW Cards, then you have a 4/47 chance of drawing that, which is a little more than 8%. Now, some of those JW Cards could be prize cards, and if you didn't draw any cards to your hand, there is around a 38.5% chance that any number of them could be prize cards, in which case the 8% draw rate decreases, but you have to remember - with every turn your draw chance of that card increases. Don't you just love mathematics?
Hey Jish, I just wanna say thank you for all the videos you've posted over the years, though it may not be as frequent as it was back all those years ago, I still look forward and enjoy every video that's been put out. I may not be able to support you on Twitch as much as I would like but I'd figured I'm due to give you a thank you for all the time you've dedicated to making these videos for us. Much love my dude, keep being awesome!
I remember I'd just stare at that Tomokazu Slowpoke card and while a bit odd-looking, I loved how it looked and just appreciated the little details found in it, especially the little apples. Also, it knows Psyshock before it was an actual move! Oh, and Misty's Wrath. That one is hardcore.
The way you structured and scripted this particular video works really well for you in my opinion. I don't know I can't really put my finger on it, but it just seems pleasant and well rounded. I think you should try to make your future videos have a similar structure because again it works very well for you. Anyways thanks for sharing all of this wonderful art it's always enjoyable to look at.
I had no idea that Giovanni alternate art existed - it's incredible, I wish I could get that. I think my favourite card illustrations are Kawayoo's Umbreon (XY Promo), TOKIYA's Gardevoir from Ancient Origins, and Tomokazu Komiya's Chansey (I think it's a Japan exclusive).
Over this last week, I've gone back and watched all your old videos because it's been a tough time in my life. I started with the top 10's, which I would watch over and over, then back to prof-it, then fact of the day, then all other videos. Seeing an upload now is really special. Thanks Jwittz, you're truly helping in my time of need by just being you :)
One of my first cards was the ancient Mew card in a special glass case that my dad gave to me. I later learned that they're pretty much worthless but when I got it it was the coolest thing, and I still love that card
My favorite sets were always Jungle and Fossil. The reason is that, to my knowledge, they contained the largest number of cards by Kagemaru Himeno. I just love the way she uses warm colours to create a unique take on Pokémon.
My personal favorite is Dark Hypno from the Team Rocket set. The ominous colors, the use of the pendulum and the trippy background, it’s such a gorgeous card and I love it~
A much much more recent artist I adore from the TCG is Asako Ito. She just started in the Sun and Moon expansion and only has six cards right now, but the little yarn figures she makes are just so cute and pleasant to look at. I'm hoping she sticks around and becomes as iconic as the clay figure cards.
I love that Hypno-Clefairy duo of cards so much. It’s so dark and twisted. Thanks for telling me about the artist. I actually have all of those cards you showed of his and never noticed they were all done by him.
Nothing warms my heart quite like HGSS energy cards. So much nostalgia and good memories lie in those silhouettes. Thanks for the memories and this great video!
Late last year I managed to find a Pokemon TCG artbook, which was really cool. It comes with a great-looking promo card featuring Charizard getting Vine Whipped by Venusaur, and the book has a step-by step of the drawing process for that art. As far as cards go, I agree with a lot of your picks, but for sheer hilarity value it's hard to beat Radiant Collection Stunfisk. In a mini-set focusing on "cute" or "pretty" Pokemon, you suddenly have a Stunfisk using attract, with a "look at me, I'm just as pretty as them" pose.
I absolutely adored this top 10 :D The Tepig evolution line will always be my favorite tbh ;-; Also fun fact: the crystal set in the #2 spot seem to be based partially on the Nazca lines from Perú (which doubles as the inspiration to Sigilyph's design) I totally love your vids man, that intro killed me xD
Base Set Dragonair was one of my favorite cards in my collection when I was a kid because I loved its art. Dragonair looks so beautiful and graceful in it, and I always loved that colorful aurora in the background.
3:51 the English Giovanni scheme looks like he's doing the *aliens* meme pose. Also is it weird that if I had that team rocket brief case, I would put yugioh cards in it?
That is actually my favorite Darkrai art in general. In fact, the Gen 4 legendaries all got some pretty sick art at one point or another, but that sharp, evil looking Darkrai is the thing of nightmares, and I love it so much.
My favorite cards were always the full-body Supporter cards of any of my favorite characters from Pokemon, similar to the Giovanni one you just talked about. Most Supporter cards featured standard art of characters in a limited rectangular space, but the ones that took up the WHOLE card were amazing. Examples being Plasma Storm Colress, Burning Shadows Guzma, and so on. They are amazing and really make me feel like a nerd when I obsess over them.
Verlisify never understood why pokemon stopped making those great energy drawings for every generation! I mean it couldn’t be that hard, or at least do it for more remake sets like primal clash (oras set). Sometimes I don’t get Pokémon’s decisions 😂, but what can u do. Hope they make more eventually
There are sooo many awesome TCG arts that you could make a series ranking the best art for each individual Pokémon species and I have no doubt I'd watch every single one
I have the darkrai and cresselia card that you have my dad found it in a trash can at his work so it does me good to see one of my favourite UA-camrs like the same card as me
My favorite thing about this is that you featured cards from the entirety of the games history. I feel like it’s easy to fall into the “the old stuff is the best and new stuff is lame” kind of trap that nostalgia can lead to. The fact that you also talked about gx cards, full art trainers, AND wizards of the coast cards just really made me appreciate your opinion and think about the art of the cards in a new way
Loved the Bob Ross impersonation. Great intro! This whole video was surprisingly amusing to me. I wasn’t sure I’d enjoy it as I never got into the trading card games. Kudos to Artsy Theo for their fantastic rendition of JWittz!
That Tepig series got me in the feels. And I'm sure it took like 20 years for it to evolve because it wasn't used for battling; it was just a beloved pet.
I absolutely love the Japanese exclusive Giovanni's Scheme. The artwork on it was amazing and it's great to see it on this list. I just really wish we would've been able to see it come to the states :')
I definitely agree about Southern Islands and the HGSSergy. Some of my faves that didn't get mentioned here are StS Nidoran, BkP Suicune (rev hol, so that the art itself isn't shiny), and the Radiant subset from LtR, especially growlithe.
2 of my favorite Pokemon cards of all time include: - Pokemon: The First Movie Theatrical Promo Mewtwo (Personally my all-time favorite Mewtwo card. I also own the Pikachu promo [Also an awesome card] And (Speaking of Pikachu) - 2002 Legendary Collection Pikachu (86/110) (My favorite Pokemon card of all time. Was given to me a few years ago by a family member as a gift before he passed away) Also, recently at a convention, I came across what appears to be 2 cards:that have the word "PRERELEASE" on them: - Dark Gyarados from the 2000 Team Rocket Booster Set And - Misty's Seadra from the 2000 Gym Heroes Booster Set I've heard that these cards are 2 of 5 cards prereleased by Wizard's of the Coast for the Pokemon League. The other 3 I'm missing are Aerodactyl, Clafable, and Raichu. Surprisingly, the 2 cards I found only cost me $3 each. So, I'd like for you guys to give me your thoughts on these Prereleased cards. Just how rare are each of them? And How hard is it to find them? I'm also interested to hear what YOUR personal favorite Pokemon cards are. Leave a comment and let me know.
I love that you included the legendary Mew! I was never really a cllector but this card was my teasured posession and lucky charm or years and I always thought it looks just AMAZING
Only at the end did I realize that each intro. animation used a different Poke ball--which is so cool! I love all of the artwork of Ken Sugimori for nostalgic reasons and also because of how proportional and respectful the portrayals of Pokemon are. It's similar to why I love the sprites in the gen. 3 Kanto remake games~
My favourite series in terms of artstyle has to be Double Crisis. I might be biased because gen 3 is my favourite gen to begin with, but the way they mixed the pokemon up with the teams is just amazing, especially the Kyogre EX and Groudon EX cards. Fell in love with them, bought some boosters and now I'm a happy man to own almost all of them.
Loved the video. I'm surprised you haven't covered this topic before. I think b/c there are soo many Pokemon cards, you should turn this into a series covering more of your favorite arts, like Creepy Pokedex entries. Maybe do a video for each set. idk, I really love the topic and hope you come back to it soon.
Hard to pick a favourite card art of all time, but I can say that my fave full art trainer is the second full art Lillie, the one in Ultra Prism, it just looks so good
5:00 I have a special love for this card in particular. When Shining Legends first came out, I went to my local games shop and bought one of the Elite Trainer Boxes to get started on the set. The *very first pack* contained this card, and I was stunned beyond belief at that. It now sits in a picture frame on my desk along with a few other cards I treasured.
I always love Kouki Saitou cards. There was a Flareon card during, I believe, the Gen 4 era that had Flareon card with a worm's eye view of the Pokémon in a sandstorm. That card always stuck out to me.
I've always had sof spot for minimalist art, particularly the Slowpoke from the Fossil set. But my favorites have to be Kouchi Ooyama's and the clay/plasticine ones.
My favourites: the ones that, instead of being paintings or illustrations, are photos of crocheted versions of Pokémon. I think those ones are really cute. They remind me of Yoshi’s Woolly World but with Pokémon instead of Yoshi characters. Very cute
I’m really happy to see a Theo Card Illustration here. She’s been doing Alolan Variants of the Kantonian Cards from some of the original TCG sets, they’ve been so great.
Me: "Haha that's a really funny card at the intro."
Me:
Card: *Discard up to 60 cards from the top of your opponent's deck.*
Me: "oh."
“Discard up to 60 cards from the top of your opponent’s deck”
GG
The only way you lose is if you already used a Supporter card to draw the JWittz card, and then either your opponent wins his/her last prize card on his/her very next turn or you have no cards left in your own deck on your next turn.
@@Compucles OP card right there
Pretty balanced.
A pretty trash card
That's overkill! All you need is 47 off the top!
The art of old is absolutely incredible. The artist truly are talented
Leonhart #hartsquad
Well hello Leonhart, nice to see you here
Leonhart the ate is amazing
Leonhart ok...
hi leonhart; you're awesome and i agree the old art is amazing!
Well done to Theo on that incredibly lifelike painting!
Never change, Jwittz, never change
IntestineYarnball thats my brotha!!!!
I like the bite that this script has. I like it a lot.
Thanks! This was definitely the most fun I've had working on a script in a long time
The "bite?"
I love how the HGSS water energy has lugia in the background!
Keep dreaming lugia, keep dreaming.
Well it does associate itself with water and would it really be a better Pokémon if it was a water type?
Mariomaster500 yes, and whirl islands. I love all those energies. Wish they did those animations on energies every gerantion, maybe switch it up once or twice two. That would be a cool mini set
Yeah I think it’s ridiculous that Lugia, being guardian of the SEA (as many PokéDex entries state), is freaking Psychic type especially since most of the moves it can learn is water type moves. Seriously Pokémon? Why do you do these things to us?
Technically, its main type in the tcg is water while its secondary is psychic
It's a reference to the fact that Lugia was supposed to be /Water, but they changed it to Psychic both because it was a Type the developers generally associated with strong Pokémon and to not hammer in on the "water disasters" concept due to a somewhat recent (at the time) disaster (I think it was a tsunami, but I'm not sure). Personally I think Pokemon TCG has the best artwork out of any TCG. They feel like paintings that have some story or vast habitat behind the Pokemon who's just minding there own business, grazing across the plains or oceans or exploring a bustling city.
MTG is clearly the best. They look like actual paintings.
That JWittz Pokemon Card is probably the most powerful card in the whole TGC!
StickMaster500 My favorite commenter
I swear we watch the exact same channels, from Woolen to Witz
Yep but its a 1 out 60 chance of drawing it which is a big feat.
Why are you everywhere?
FALSE! If you put four of 'em in your deck then the chances of drawing any number of them in your starting hand is nearly 40%. If you don't get one AT ALL in your starting hand then every draw thereafter you have (Number of JW Cards in deck) out of (Total number of cards in deck). "But before we end up in PRISON!"
I love this beyond reason.
oh my gosh the intro had me in t e a r s

One of the my close friends from elementary loved the clay cards, he'd trade almost anything to get them
Did he try to trade for you?
TheJWittz oh yeah man I got myself a salamence for a clay Charmander and Pikachu
Best of all though was the delta species Deoxys for a clay dusclops
I think he was trying to make a pun on your name.
Seth Romeo well
He underestimated my denseness
More like Clay Bricker am I right?
Hey Jish, I just wanna say thank you for all the videos you've posted over the years, though it may not be as frequent as it was back all those years ago, I still look forward and enjoy every video that's been put out. I may not be able to support you on Twitch as much as I would like but I'd figured I'm due to give you a thank you for all the time you've dedicated to making these videos for us. Thanks for the support DCHRAY! I'm glad you've been able to still enjoy my stuff after all this time :)
Been a fan since the Prof It days my dude, never regretted a single moment of it! Once again, thank you Jish! :)
J I S H
I adore the clay cards
ONE OF US
TheJWittz indeed! Lol great video by the way!
I love them too!
Oh, I love them too! :)
Blaine Hoover The clay model ones are so adorable!
That intro was the epitome of art itself. Mankind has been progressing for thousands of years to achieve this level of expression.
Saxy Baest1!1!
Always a big fan of seeing him talk about the TCG again.
Brenin Watson Agreed :)
I reconize that Pokemon Art Academy music! 💙 Amazing video!
Wait people know about that game, I thought I was the only one knew about it!
The HGSS era really had some amazing art. I remember when a lot of them were coming out and seeing you talk about them back in the day on profit
before we end up in *PRISON!!!!*
Nate needs a sound clip
I'M GOIN' TO JAIL!
I DON'T WANNA GO TO JAIL!
*Cough* Why Is Pokemon Showing Some Fanservice?! *Cough Cough*
yo . . . . the supporters in that set and beyond are drop dead GORGEOUS!!!
No Mitsuhiro Arita?
Apart from that, completely agree, I absolutely love Yuka Morii cards!
It's so hard to pick a favorite 10! There's no denying that Arita's Base Set Charizard is the most iconic TCG card of all time, though
TheJWittz cool
That Giovanni's Scheme IS from Mitsuhiro Arita, so hey, that's one!
TheJWittz Do you like Kouki Saitou's art.... I think he is the best pokemon card artist
Uh...the Mewtwo GX card clearly lists him? Am I missing something?
Should’ve worn a Bob Ross wig for the intro 0/10
Shrek The Ogre +1 Bob ross
In that case, he should have painted the firts Pokémon professors.
Well this is a welcomed surprise. Seeing this notification caused me to genuinely smile
I love the Dark Charmeleon card from the Team Rocket set!
YES! That card specifically made Charmeleon my favorite Pokemon until Hawlucha came around!
Kagemaru Himeno for life
That JWittz card is singlehandedly the best card ever created, I don't know why it was removed from the original base set.
I love Kanako Eo’s art style ☺️
3:45 is probably bordering on the funniest JWittz moment of all time
Good. Its best u dont get it.
Anyone else noticed the fact that the paint tubes are closed while he’s painting lol
I love when you post it always helps me in tough times😃
I had no idea that Giovanni alternate art existed - it's incredible, I wish I could get that. I think my favourite card illustrations are Kawayoo's Umbreon (XY Promo), TOKIYA's Gardevoir from Ancient Origins, and Tomokazu Komiya's Chansey (I think it's a Japan exclusive).
That intro😂😂
I tell ya: Full-Art "JWittz" is gonna be put on the ban list from now until the end of time. It's toooo good 😲
Over this last week, I've gone back and watched all your old videos because it's been a tough time in my life. *FBI , OPEN UP!*
Funny..... Cuz its Pokemon Teams Fault.
She's not even underage though, she's like, well over 18
@@sonario6489 and it's a cartoon character so no laws apply

Jwittz ross. And we’re going to put a nice little happy bush right here
J-Ross?
Yes! The Jungle set was one of my favorite art styles. :D Also quite a bit from the old Gym Heroes/Leaders sets.
3:40 Best girl don't @ me

Rusty well we’re both going to end up in *P R I S O N*

I love the Skyla Full Arts!

I really wish we had an official pokemon TCG art book in America....They do.....
*In Japan* 🇯🇵
I love that Hypno-Clefairy duo of cards so much. It’s so dark and twisted. Thanks for telling me about the artist. I actually have all of those cards you showed of his and never noticed they were all done by him.
I really miss Prof-It man I wish Mr. J would return to that beloved series.
Nothing warms my heart quite like HGSS energy cards. So much nostalgia and good memories lie in those silhouettes. Thanks for the memories and this great video!
Jwittz is the vsauce of the pokemon community, you just want to meme him so bad
Im suprised he hasnt yet
I love Yuka Morii's cards, they're so neat to look at. Plenty of the 2D art is cool, but there's something so novel and interesting about clay models.
3:38 Oof, I'm not really into the TCG, but I wouldn't mind having that Delinquent card
Late last year I managed to find a Pokemon TCG artbook, which was really cool. It comes with a great-looking promo card featuring Charizard getting Vine Whipped by Venusaur, and the book has a step-by step of the drawing process for that art.

That is actually my favorite Darkrai art in general. In fact, the Gen 4 legendaries all got some pretty sick art at one point or another, but that sharp, evil looking Darkrai is the thing of nightmares, and I love it so much.
You couldn't cut through the amount of narcissism in that opening bit with a chainsaw.
My favorite cards were always the full-body Supporter cards of any of my favorite characters from Pokemon, similar to the Giovanni one you just talked about. Most Supporter cards featured standard art of characters in a limited rectangular space, but the ones that took up the WHOLE card were amazing. Those pokemon energies were amazing. My favorite art is from Gen 1 Kagemaru Himeno

_Skyla is worth the Jailtime._
How old is she anyways? Because if she is 14 or older she is legal in my country *insert Lenny face* (I can't do that face on my device)
Why do people think she is underage exactly?
Ten year-olds in the Pokemon universe have D cups. Look at May.

Fossil Aerodactyl looks very badass and the fact that it's an old card makes it even better because I love how the old cards look.
Hard to pick a favourite card art of all time, but I can say that my fave full art trainer is the second full art Lillie, the one in Ultra Prism, it just looks so good
Man, Suzy has really been upping her TCG artwork. Refining techniques, exploring new styles.

I have a special love for this card in particular. When Shining Legends first came out, I went to my local games shop and bought one of the Elite Trainer Boxes to get started on the set. The *very first pack* contained this card, and I was stunned beyond belief at that. It now sits in a picture frame on my desk along with a few other cards I treasured.
I absolutely love the Tepig line of cards. Honestly my favorite line of cards in all of the Pokemon TCG.
I always love Kouki Saitou cards. There was a Flareon card during, I believe, the Gen 4 era that had Flareon card with a worm's eye view of the Pokémon in a sandstorm. That card always stuck out to me.
That Emboar line is probably on just about everyone ever's favorites list and it very much deserves its place there.
I've always had sof spot for minimalist art, particularly the Slowpoke from the Fossil set. But my favorites have to be Kouchi Ooyama's and the clay/plasticine ones.
Art wise I believe my favorite card is full art Xerneas EX from base XY. It's just so vibrant and colorful and captures the elegance of Xerneas
My favorite combined art was the one for Entei, Suicune, and Raikou back during the Gen 4/5 era. I kept those cards in my album for years.
