I really wish there was a pokemon game where after you beat the main story you could become a gym leader and go to your gym whenever you want just to await challengers. Being able to theme your own gym and pick a type would be awesome and having some genuine challenge after the elite four would be a nice change of pace.

One of my favorites is Jasmine, her team is badass and she is one of the few leaders to actually do things for her town. I think the gym leaders are essentially town mayors and she's one of the few that gets involved in her town.
Roxie's spirit is unparalleled and even though she is kind of easy, she is amazing as a character. She also gets way more competent in her rematches. The messages she gives about rebelling against the norm are very important. She is the only character who has ever touched me as a player. By comparison, this entire list is comprised of cool trainers who did cool things. That's... about it.
I absolutely hated how Claire threw a bitch fit when you beat her. She was just sooooo entitled. It's pretty silly to complain about pixels, I know, and especially in a series that I love, but when I get to Claire in game, I always get so frustrated because she basically calls you bad even though you just beat her.

Blaine’s original design in concept art for Red and Blue had him in military attire, but this was changed to a lab coat so he couldn’t be as easily confused with Lt. Surge. The concept art also helped inspire his design in the anime

So whenever i start a fresh game in Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald i always choose the female protagonist of the game, name her Kenzie (cause my real name is Mackenzie and my actual dad calls me Kenzie) I do that with my character to make it feel more realistic to me when i play the game! :D

Volkner being bored does not make him emo and in the anime he was so cool. He is just striving for more in the games because battling has become boring to him, like when your training in the grass. We all know the feeling of boring battles. Volkner was thinking of taking on the E4 and Elisa wins because SuperModel, which is great and all but I feel Volkner should join her on this list.
Here's how I beat Whitney: I used rage with my croconaw on clefairy again and again until it was max. Milktank came out. Milktank locked into rollout so it couldn't heal (lol). I two hit it. My croconaw was so overleveled.
It is a french pikachu because the pokemon war is world war 2. in pokemon x and y, they talk about a pokemon war. This could mean that kalos (france) and kanto (japan) were at war with each other. It would also make sense that unova (america) was part of the war, due to the war with terrakion, virizion, cobalion, and keldeo. This is most likely to be WWII because of all of these wars.
My favorite Gym leader has to be Valerie. She's cute, into Fashion, completely wrecked my Dragon/Dark/Fighting team, and wears those horrible contact lenses that make her eyes look empty and devoid of a human soul.

An awesome way to beat the Miltank of Death in Crystal is, buy a Wobbuffet at the Game Corner, and once it's gotten up a few Rollout uses, bring in Wobbuffet. One good Counter and Miltank is down in one hit.
My first game was a used Sapphire. Unfortunately, I was a complete newbie who had no idea how types worked... so I had trained up a Pelipper... then, I met Wattson... *shudders*... then, in my brilliance, decided to train up a Gulpin/Swalot to fight him, when he had a Magneton... *slams head against wall*.

I played blue on pokemon stadium and choose charmander but also load and lv20 evee from stadium so i had no problema at all, then evolve evee to jolteon at the end
I don't remember having trouble with Brock but Misty sure as hell a challenge. I had to be sent back to the Pokemon Center over and over and over. The only reason I won in the first place was because Misty used X Defend when I would've been defeated. That was the greatest moment ever.
For kids she is hard to beat (myself included when I was one). I played it again during my late teenage years and beat her no sweat. I mean if you beat her when all you cared about is attacking with no tactics then I guess you were lucky that you beat her on your first try.
I have this conspiracy theory where all the Electric Gym Leaders are related. Lt. Surge is the father, Volkner is the son, Elesa is the cousin, Clemont and Bonnie are the younger siblings and Wattson is the grandfather. Also they all have blond hair, except Elesa in Black and White 2 and Wattson, he probably had blond hair when he was younger though.
Plot twist: your mom is the mom. Lt. Surge is your brother. Norman is your step dad, and The old Winstrate lady with the Meditite is Wattson’s ex-wife. Or present wife, whatever works haha
sabrina- one of my best memories was finally beating her after grinding so much to get my pokemon high enough. shes interesting, and was the first really challenging gym leader for me. thats my reason for wanting her on this list.

You should also do top 10 Elite Four members JWittz :) also my favorite gym leader is Jasmine because to me she's the most caring Gym Leader not battling until you help her nurse a Pokemon back to health then that Steelix... When I first played Silver that Steelix made my jaw drop because I had never seen something as cool as it before :) and it's tough to take it out
What about Misty? Her water Pokemon were great, and with Charmander as a starter I found her difficult to beat! Even with a pikachu. I guess it's her Starme's constant use of "Recover" that made it hard for me. Oh well.
I like how in black and white, every gym leader ends up helping you through the game in one way or another. Except for the Striaton leaders. They don't do anything.
the fact that all gym leaders (except blue) are type-themed is something i never realized before. pokemon can easily move onto different kinds of themed gym leaders, like themes based on appearance (ex: cute, tough), themes based on habitats (grassland, jungle, mountainous), themes based on colour, size, lore, etc....

i'm just realizing that in 2nd generation the female gym leaders are the ones that give you trouble to obtain their badges. whitney refuses to give you the badge, as does clair, and jasmine sends you on a quest to heal a pokemon before accepting a challenge (clair and whitney where also two really difficult trainers to beat in my first silver run)

Gingging Galano well it was the only one I needed 3 runs for. The others I just needed 2 and that were Norman 5th Orden in Saphire and the ghost in diamond. eventually I had to train myself a Sandile and grind the hell out of the desert. I had to level it like 10 levels till i beat the arena.
I was fighting Whitney while listing to this, thinking to my self "this won't be that hard" when I heard jwittz say the miltank can heal it's self. I said "wait, what!?" and looked down to find the miltank healing itself. Suddenly I knew this was going to be a lot harder then I expected.
the only thing is disagree is that for me, Lt. surges gym wasnt very hard( probably cuz i didnt know what i was doing ). and Jwitz i just wanted to say i wouldve inclued drayden. He is cool, awsome facial hair and he was the hardest gym ( for me ) in gen 4.

Victor Josue Millan Martinez Gabi Samojluk Well, everyone is titled to their own opinions. I personally thought that every generation brought their own amazing mechanics to the series. Generation 1 brought the series and a lot of fans, Generation 2 had the Pokemon Daycare and probably other stuff that I am forgetting, Generation 3 brought the idea of villainous teams (Again my opinion) that didn't suck and weren't Team Rocket plus Pokemon Contests, Generation 4 had the underground, the Poketch and the Pokewalker for the Gen 2 remakes, and Generation 5 had the idea of fusing two pokemon (which surprisingly worked), animated pokemon, and a sequel to the actual games (which also surprisingly worked), and finally Generation 6 brought the 3D Mechanic and the ability to customize your trainer. Despite Gen 6 which hasn't had a Generation after it, Gen 4 was the only game which never had its (in my opinion again) good mechanics brought back. Plus generation 5 got rid of the Pokemon Contests for the Musicals.

Not to mention the game actually gives you great help. In the Goldenrod Department store you can trade a Drowzee for a Machop. Considering you can catch a Drowzee right outside the city you'll have a perfect type advantage and if you catch a female Drowzee you'll get a female Machop so you'll be immune to attract. Whitney is the most overrated gym leader in Pokemon history.
I do not think they tried to make Lt. Surge resemble Guile. Lt. Surge is Nintendo, and Guile is Capcom. Capcom could sue Nintendo if Nintendo uses Capcom's stuff in their game without their permission.

For kids she is hard to beat (myself included when I was one). I played it again during my late teenage years and beat her no sweat. I mean if you beat her when all you cared about is attacking with no tactics then I guess you were lucky that you beat her on your first try.
I have this conspiracy theory where all the Electric Gym Leaders are related. Lt. Surge is the father, Volkner is the son, Elesa is the cousin, Clemont and Bonnie are the younger siblings and Wattson is the grandfather. Also they all have blond hair, except Elesa in Black and White 2 and Wattson, he probably had blond hair when he was younger though.

You should also do top 10 Elite Four members JWittz :) also my favorite gym leader is Jasmine because to me she's the most caring Gym Leader not battling until you help her nurse a Pokemon back to health then that Steelix... When I first played Silver that Steelix made my jaw drop because I had never seen something as cool as it before :) and it's tough to take it out

What about Misty? Her water Pokemon were great, and with Charmander as a starter I found her difficult to beat! Even with a pikachu. I guess it's her Starme's constant use of "Recover" that made it hard for me. Oh well.

the fact that all gym leaders (except blue) are type-themed is something i never realized before.
pokemon can easily move onto different kinds of themed gym leaders, like themes based on appearance (ex: cute, tough), themes based on habitats (grassland, jungle, mountainous), themes based on colour, size, lore, etc....

Well, everyone is titled to their own opinions. I personally thought that every generation brought their own amazing mechanics to the series. Generation 1 brought the series and a lot of fans, Generation 2 had the Pokemon Daycare and probably other stuff that I am forgetting, Generation 3 brought the idea of villainous teams (Again my opinion) that didn't suck and weren't Team Rocket plus Pokemon Contests, Generation 4 had the underground, the Poketch and the Pokewalker for the Gen 2 remakes, and Generation 5 had the idea of fusing two pokemon (which surprisingly worked), animated pokemon, and a sequel to the actual games (which also surprisingly worked), and finally Generation 6 brought the 3D Mechanic and the ability to customize your trainer. Despite Gen 6 which hasn't had a Generation after it, Gen 4 was the only game which never had its (in my opinion again) good mechanics brought back. Plus generation 5 got rid of the Pokemon Contests for the Musicals.
Cilan Chili and Cress were a clever gym leader gimmick, because you couldn't choose a starter based on the first gym. I liked that feature.

Not to mention the game actually gives you great help. In the Goldenrod Department store you can trade a Drowzee for a Machop. Considering you can catch a Drowzee right outside the city you'll have a perfect type advantage and if you catch a female Drowzee you'll get a female Machop so you'll be immune to attract. Whitney is the most overrated gym leader in Pokemon history.

I do not think they tried to make Lt. Surge resemble Guile. Lt. Surge is Nintendo, and Guile is Capcom. Capcom could sue Nintendo if Nintendo uses Capcom's stuff in their game without their permission.
I dislike Norman. While playing Alpha Sapphire, my Pokemon literally never fainted until I faced him. I'm about ready to leave the family.
Norman was a bit of a challenge. Luckily my Sableye made him much easier.
Ikr when I was a kid I literally screamed everytime his Slaking keeps one hitting my pokemon but beated him with an Azumarill with rollout. Of course, not close to Whitney in the original games
