You're opening with 明けましておめでとうございます before the new year starts. I guess you had your reasons, but that's gonna perpetuate a well-known error among Japanese learners

@@RiccardoGabarriniKazeatari Thank you for the comment and sorry for the confusion. We did start the video with「明けましておめでとうございます」to celebrate a bit earlier and teach the phrase so that the viewers can learn and use it on the actual day. Just in case there might be a misunderstanding or confusion for the Japanese learners, we'll leave a comment and make it clear that it is not New Year's yet. Thank you once again and Happy New Year in advance!! :)

My family combines several different New Year's celebrations together! We eat soba noodles because of Japan, we eat pork pie because of Britain, and we eat olivier because of Russia. 明けましておめでとうございます!🎉 🥳

    Hi guys, Happy New Year.
Watching sunrise is my favorite item on Japanese new year tradition. And I am also a huge fan of symbolism and their meaning, I think is so thoughful and charming.🥰
Back in my country, Iran we celebrate new year we call it "No-Rouz" means New day and it is the first day of Spring.
We also clean our home from top to bottom before new year.
We also serve some food in new year which contain herbal for color green, fish and noodles to be healthy, easy problem solving and have no problem with work ot thing we going to do in new year.
The Haft-Sin is the most important item of our new year ritual, which includes 7 items that start with the letter Sin - سین - , and each of them have symbolizes life.
Thank for your videos, and have happy holiday 🤍

Anyone else think it's strange that they say "let's 恥ましょう"? It's like saying "let's let's begin"

    • @StudyInDailyJapanese

Haha you're right!! It's just an intro phrase we came up with to make it more catchy😅

@@StudyInDailyJapanese Oh yeah, I get it. If it were me, I'd stick with just 恥ましょう, but it's your channel so do whatever you want 😁

Do they sell pre-made おせち at grocery stores or even 7-11 or Family Mart?

I think most young Japanese no longer care about the meaning of osechi, haha!
