I was 15 yrs old when I watched him sing this beautiful song on the Andy Williams show in 1965. I was so lucky to see him sing this beautiful song. This is Bobby's song! He nailed it! RIP Bobby! I will always love you! ❤❤❤
I love this song sang by this man no one can sang it like him, every time I hear it I just want to cuddle with him as he sang it to me. This song just does something to me just don't know how to explain it
@@voiceofruby listen to this one next. Ruby "You've Lost That Loving Feeling " by the Righteous Brothers. I saw them live in Tulsa 25 years ago. Amazing, life changing experience.
He was singing to his mother in the audience ....amazing what a mother's love can get you to do! as a result, he knocked it clear out of the park, there is no better version, even of his own recording[s] of this. This was a moment in time lost to the past in the year 1965, and brought back to life by the internet and all you reactors. Bobby died at age 63, in 2003 on tour with the other Righteous Brother, Bill Medley...in a hotel in Kalamazoo MI where they were to perform that night in a theater. He didn't show up at the appointed time before the show., they went to get him and he was gone. Obviously they had to cancel the show. This was 55 minutes from my house. I almost had bought tickets and had changed my mind being too busy.. I wept when I heard the news the next morning. I was a music teacher.
Nothing compares to this man’s voice or range. Keep in mind 1960s live recording. No current artist could accomplish this sound quality or range. Magical!!!
This was a live appearance on the Andy Williams Show. No tricks, no redos, no second chances, no autotune, no nothing but his talent. IMO this is one of the all-time best live performances ever ♥ .
One is never too old to cry after listening to Bobby Hatfield's "Unchained Melody". All guys and girls, young or old, can appreciate beauty in all its magical forms.
Sorry, but this wasn't from the Andy Williams show, the Williams show was actually better than this version. Don't believe me, listen to the difference in the high note he hit at the very end of the song and then listen to the very end note on this version, not even close. There were other differences too, but you'd have to have listened to the Williams show version as often as I have to spot all the differences. I'm not saying this version was bad, it wasn't, it's just that he outdid himself on the Williams show.
Lovely reaction to the most beautiful performance I have ever seen. Bobby Hatfield's glorious vocals, and pouring his heart and soul into every note. Incomparable! 💜🤍
"The Righteous Brothers” are considered by most to be the Greatest Male Vocal Duet Of All Time. I agree. Between Bill Medley’s Lows and Bobby Hatfield’s Highs they can hit every note on an 73 key piano. No other male singers can do that. Legendary. “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin” was the most played song on radio in the 20th Century. "Unchained Melody" - Bobby Hatfield Live 1965. Considered by most as The Greatest Live Male Vocal Performance In History... I agree. Bobby's use of "Runs" is brilliant. He is the master of the technique and started the trend. 7 notes just to say the word "I".... Their name came when they did a show in a smaller venue and a black man told them…. You two Brothers are Righteous. They created the sound and set the table that all Soul Music fed from for decades to come. In 1983, in Newport Beach O.C. Calif. Bill and Bobby at the Jolly Roger Restaurant . I was 13 feet away for... "Unchained Melody"- "You've Lost That Lovin’ Feelin‘" - "Soul And Inspiration".... They were perfect, awesome, amazing, incredible......
I was raised in the 60's and when I first heard the Righteous Brothers on the radio I thought that they were a Black group? I later learn that they were white and the music was called Blue Eye Soul! Some artists may pass on but great music never dies! I like your channel, Ruby!
His beautiful sound was known in the 60's as "blue-eyed soul". His voice draws out emotions now, almost 60 years later, as much as it did then. Your reaction is priceless!!!
And another one bites the dust! Ruby, you've been Bobbied just like the rest of us! Those dulcet, seductive tones and the words and music, how can we resist? This is surely the most romantic love song of all time, just magic!
This song rates high on the charts as one of the best all-time live solo performances, putting him in good company with the likes of Elvis Presley, Tom Jones, etc.
Thank you Ruby; I had the same reaction and I am 73. I was 17 when Bobby sang this live on TV but somehow missed it until a few weeks ago. Now I enjoy seeing the reaction of the younger generation as it blew me away too. What a love song with heart and soul plus talent. RIP Bobby Hatfield you nailed it and what a gift you left us.
I bet Bobby's singing coach said to him (when he did a final version of the song) 'If you sing like this, in front of an audience - I guarantee you, they will be raving about it for years', and he was right. Here we are, 57 years later (2022) , and it is still, by far, the best version, ever sung. A lot of the reactions we've seen (on youtube), of people watching it for the first time, have been from people, simply giving their opinions about it - but if you want a real professional, giving his take on it, then go to ua-cam.com/video/boXkA9G5PL4/v-deo.html called 'British guitarist analyses the Righteous Brothers live in 1965'. He will even give you the musical notes Bobby sang (20 of them), when he performed his stunning rendition of it - no auto-tune required!
Bobby Hatfield is arguably the greatest male vocalist of all time... This guy sang like an angel... Often voted the greatest live solo performance of all time... Perfection 👌 ❤
Thank You Ruby for allowing me to enjoy this Timeless Masterpiece of a song with you. Just to close my eyes and remember when I would slo-dance with the girl I was with at that time. Gave me so much joy with all the turmoil going on around the world at that time the song lyrics lifted our souls to heaven for the few minutes it lasted. Thank You again !
A beautiful song watched by a beautiful woman with a beautiful smile. It's been a good day😉 to you and yours wishing you all the happiest of holidays 😊
Welcome to the wonderful world of what is known as blue-eyed soul. It is truly timeless music, and The Righteous Brothers were the absolute best. The story about how the group was named (according to my recollection, anyway) was they were playing somewhere in the South, and a black serviceman stood up during one of their performances and yelled out, "That's righteous, brother!" Bobby Hatfield did this one in only one take and nailed it completely. Nothing in the way of voice enhancers or whatever else is used nowadays. Pure, raw talent. You need to do a video reacting to both of them singing "You've Lost That Loving Feeling." He and Bill Medley (the other half of the "brothers" part) also performed on at least one episode of a music talent show in the 1960s called, "Shindig!" That one will definitely blow your mind!
Bobby Hatfield had such a beautiful voice! His range and control is amazing!!! He made it look so easy! No auto tune & performed Live!!! Who can do that??!!!
A absolutely genuine reaction, you listened, appreciated and commentated in a very measured way.Dare l say it! ............did l see a little love in your eyes as you respectfully watched the video? The very best to you.
When he teams up with Bill Medley other brother they have more great songs. Soul and Inspiration, You lost that Loving Feeling, For once in my Life, Little Latin Lupe Lu and more. They are one of the greatest duos ever m Best success on yr channel.
Hard to believe from watching this that Bobby threw up before these performances from stage fright. Sadly Bobby died from cocaine abuse but he always managed to pull himself together to perform for us
This song was representative of a letter of a convict to his girl on the outside. The Rightious Brothers catalog is amazing, you must react to "you've lost that loving feeling, "your my soul and inspiration," as well as, "I just want to make love to you."
This is literally how is men want to vocalize our love to our women. I’m still young however one day I will have a wife and we will dance in the kitchen to this song. It will be my interpretation of my love for her
The White radio stations wouldn't accept them at first because the said they sounded Black. ,... It was Black Radio Air play who started playing them and made them Famous... The got their name because they were playing black clubs and one brother hollered out " YOU GUYS SOUND RIGHTEOUS!!!! "and that's how they got their name....
You should do a reaction to the duo's song "You've lost that loving feeling" here. ua-cam.com/video/uOnYY9Mw2Fg/v-deo.html It's almost as good as this performance.
Very beautiful reaction Fun facts Hard to believe Bobby threw up before these performances from stage fright Bobby could have been a professional baseball player Bobby died of cocaine abuse
@@voiceofruby No he didn't, he had advanced heart disease, and that's what he died of. Bobby was a beautiful soul and a wonderful entertainer. Take no notice of the naysayers! If you want to see another side of Bobby and Bill, watch the clip from the same show when they sing What'd I Say with Andy Williams or any of the vids from Shindig. They could rock too!

Gee, I was 5 in 1965. But, down through the years I would hear this beautiful song. And then there's Ghost!
And here we have another speechless woman whose hand goes to her heart.
The control he had over his voice, just mesmerizing.
IMHO, The best performance of this song ever. Period!!!

First time I saw you I became a fan ,after seeing you in that dress I'm now a full blown 12500 watt air conditioner.
The way he was able to hold high notes at the end so effortlessly seems impossible. He makes it look so easy!
