You can see them all fall in love with him as soon as the first notes come out of his mouth. Bobby Hatfield had one of the most amazing voices in history. That song is perfection
Bobby was unique, one of a kind. Besides being outrageously handsome, his pitch is insane. This song belongs to Bobby, noone has, or will do it better. He definitely puts you under a spell, and not with just this song, but every solo he does. For me, he was the voice of the Righteous Brothers and he is, and will always be, my favorite male singer!!
The late Bobby Hatfield! I'm 74 years old, and I will never forget when these guys came out with their beautiful music in 1964. As teenagers, we fell in with their music and voices. They are so classic! RIP Bobby! We miss your awesome voice!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Let's be honest - it's not just "white women". It's white women, black women, hispanic women, black guys, muslim guys....hell, it's everyone. This is literally a masterpiece.
Ah Bobby Hatfield, the greatest male singer in pop music - of any decade. Also a wonderful humble person, as shown very clearly in this beautiful video. This live performance is actually even better than the record of it. He is much missed by all those who loved him. RIP Bobby.
Classy, charming, gorgeous, humble, talented beyond reason, and more women truly fell in love with him than any other...and still do to this day...almost 60 yrs later. That's pretty incredible. He was epic.
If you've ever been in love this song touches something deep inside and and you can't help but feel a reaction. I've heard other singers try to sing it but nobody even Elvis Presley could ever do it justice, to me it will forever be Bobby Hatfield's song.
This is the best slow dance song ever performed. Bobby Hatfield nailed it. I was 13 when this was performed. It has the same effect on my today as when I first heard it. There is no need to analyze it. Just pull your important person in your arms, close your eyes and get lost in it.
“The Righteous Brothers” are considered by most to be the Greatest Male Vocal Duo Of All Time. I agree. Between Bill Medley’s Lows and Bobby Hatfield’s Highs they can hit every note on a piano. No other male singers can do that. Legendary. “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’’ was the most played song on radio in the 20th Century "Unchained Melody" - Bobby Hatfield Live 1965 Andy Williams Show (with his mother sitting right behind him) Considered by most as The Greatest Live Male Vocal Performance In History... I agree. Bobby’s use of “Runs” is masterful. He created the style and set the table that all others have fed off of for decades. 7 notes just to say the word “I” is melodic brilliance. Their name came from doing a show near a marine base in So Calif and a black marine said to them…. You two guys are Righteous Brothers. In 1983, in Newport Beach O.C. Calif. Bill and Bobby at the Jolly Roger Restaurant . I was 13 feet away for... "Unchained Melody"- "You've Lost That Lovin Feeling" - "Soul And Inspiration".... They were perfect, awesome, amazing, incredible......
@@bdoeden64 While I posted a comment the other day about Bobby and Billy, and mentioned several other male vocalists that were on my mom’s “playlist” during my formative years in the late ‘50s - early ‘60s - mostly in the crooner/jazz idiom - I think nominating or compiling a list of “greatest” of anything is a bit of a fool’s errand. Paul Robeson, Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, Joe Williams, Gregory Porter, Billy Eckstine, Freddy Mercury, etc are the first few names that pop into mind who have equally impressive catalogs. Now, having a great natural vocal gift doesn’t necessarily make for a talented singer, or admirable human being. This was a wonderful performance for sure, and they may well have been delightful people, but I think to declare this the best live vocal ever is myopic at best.
@@fonkenful I didn't say in the comment you are responding to, and don't think I have ever said, let alone thought, that any given performance is 'the best ever' - as there are so many different subjective criteria. I apologize if I did post something I don't remember, or if I misunderstood your point. Perhaps you were trying to respond to the original commenter (AliasMark69)? My comment was meant to point out to AliasMark69 that RB weren't the only trick in town, that they DID have competition.
One of the most romantic songs ever written and recorded. Many people have sung this song but no body has ever sung it quite like Bobby Hatfield. Like Luciano Pavarotti singing Nessum Dorma, certain songs just become definitive to a certain artist/singer/musician. The Righteous Bros is the definitive version.
As someone born in the late 1950's, like many, I have had the opportunity to be around to hear the birth, growth, and sometimes decline of so many genres of music. For me, besides the great classical music of the past centuries, the greatest music has been that of the 1950's through the 1980's. So much of that music was created out of the hearts of the musicians and songwriters, and much of it is genuine, timeless, and beautiful. There has certainly been some good music created after that, but so much of it today is just canned, formulaic, and meant to sell, rather than coming from the soul of the artist. It's good to see that the younger generations are looking back and discovering some of the best music ever created and performed from their parents and grandparents generations. It gives us depth and helps us all to understand the times the music was created in. Enjoy the journey and the discovery.
No he doesn’t - as gifted as he was he was empty within and was chasing fur answers thru drugs Heaven is only achieved thru a relationship with Jesus Christ thru repentance and faith not of works so get real
This girl had so much feeling and soul. I was in Vitnam in 1965 when this came out Everyone was thinking about their girlfriends. I'm 89 now and never forgot those moments. Thank you Bobby Hadfield
If I were granted one wish, it would be to be able to create physical and mental feelings in women as much as this song does. I think I could live with that.
I was heading to war in Vietnam when this song came out. A lot of us young guys left our girls hoping they would wait for us. Mine stopped writing after 5 months and was engaged to another guy when I made it home 16 months later. I started life anew. Guess I am grateful for being alive. 58,000 did not. Semper Fi jarheads.
The really amazing thing is this was the theme from a B movie and the Andy Williams show wasn't a very popular variety show, but this is the quintessential version of this song. In another ten thousand years this will still be the greatest version ever.
There isn't any men today that have that heavenly voice And to see these women just fall in love with this song You can see their hearts melt Women need more songs like this
Bobby Hatfield, knocking panties to the floor and getting paid to do it. This guy is as smooth as they come and the only relationship counselor you need. Rest in peace Bobby, and thanks. 😜
"My love...My darling I hunger for your touch..." Now add voice, slow soft tempo build into crescendo and be dapper at the same time...pied pipper of women everywhere...even when the women are sitting next to their men or decades later...this is what it looks like on display when women fall in love. Not aggressive but vulnerable and alluring, like the one guy said mesmerizing.
It makes it all the more amazing that Bobby said he was dealing with a cold in the performance and he was, if I’m not mistaken signing in front of his mother. So he was super nervous.
I love how these oldies classics can bring everyone together no matter the age or background. There is a treasure trove of beautiful music on YT I hope people will take time and explore. It is at your fingertips
A line in this song is touching: “time can do so much… Are you still mine?” When this song was coming out, a lot of guys were in Vietnam, missing home.
I have watched a lot of reactions to this particular live performance. It's a very emotional song. It really very strongly affects women, and there are factors that came together that produced just the right triggers. Like Bobby Hatfield's appearance, the composition, his style, the quality of his voice, etc. There is much hands on chest and gasping, open mouths, cheek holding and crying. Something about it just checks all the boxes. It's amazing. All of us men wish we could do that to a woman.
If you honestly can say you "don't like" this version of Unchained Melody - you don't like music, period. Even if your thing is rap or hard rock, this song touches the soul.
Women reacting to this always makes me smile. As the song plays I'm convinced that to 99% of them, nobody else exists and Bobby is singing directly to them. ...and yes I think it would be hilarious to see one of the women in a non solo reaction go batshit insane about halfway through the song and go full UFC on her unsuspecting friend while screeching "HE'S MINE!!!!!!!" Poor girl was hypnotized by blue eyes and never had a chance. 🤣🤣🤣 Yep, I know I'm evil. Girl fights are brutal! 😝
The way he (we) vantrickulated every fiber of his being through his voice indelling sound waves the very fiber of his feelings of emotion capitalizing on his unfading love with tenderness gives effortless power of electricity which energizes a person to want more and to share in giving the whole world the same endless journey everyone needs to endure Love in TIME,,,, Forever.....

Incredible, the reaction to Bobby Hatfield all these years later and still falling in love with him and his voice.
Ofcourse
I never get tired of these Unchained Melody reaction videos... If only Bobby was still around to see hisself being rediscovered...
This man and the Righteous Brothers (together) are responsible for more children then a fertility clinic! 😂😂😂❤❤❤!
The iconic version of this song. No-one has done it better than Bobby......as women all over the world drooled over him at the time. Some still do.

When Bobby Hatfield sang, there wasn't a dry seat in the house. Both of them were perfectly matched to each other.
