Thank you! My alternator crapped out this morning, so this is the first how-to video I've watched - and I reckon it ticks all the boxes. Should only take me three days to re-create this nine-minute vid. Thanks once again!
just finished the job!!! thanks for the vid, all your videos on the new beetle have been extremely helpful to me. I got this job done in less than an hour! Great instructions.
Working on my gf 06. Nowhere near this easy. Can’t access from the top. I cannot believe what a simple thing was made so difficult by the idiots who designed this car. AC compressor is down and the alternator was very difficult to extract and then get back in. Now I can’t get the top bracket to go over the hole. Either I’m going to damage something else getting it on or I’ll have to remove it again and file some metal off. I’d burn this car right now if that was feasible. Volkswagen is a car to avoid 100%.
Great video, just skips the huge job he did before this video to remove the throttle body. I've got it completely taken off but no way to actually get it out that I see without removing the throttle body like he has done. Way more work than what's shown here.
Yeah, but you already have that engine cover removed. The first one just pops off but what about the other one that has metric Allen bolts deeply recessed? Are there any other fasteners to deal with?

Thank you! This video was a huge help when changing the alternator on my bug.
Love this channel! Thankyouuuu
My guy how did you slide that on so easily
This doesn't work for 2008 with the 2.5L... alternator is tucked underneath AC compressor, intake manifold, and a couple other fluid reservoirs.
No "OVERRUNNING ALTERNATOR DECOUPLER" on alternator being installed.
Greetings.
What's the real time to install?
Gratitude for your time.

Hey bro nice vid question would you know if this alternator will fit in a vw polo 9n3 gti 2006
We need a 1.9t Diesel tutorial there’s like none on UA-cam 😭 I may just make the video for it 🤦🏽♂️😂😭😭😭 I really am dreading it
Not sure why service info calls for 1.9hrs....
To help trq out this is meant for the 2L Fuel injected naturally aspirated GAS models.

I have a 2006 2.5 L 4 cylinder and it was not this easy sadly, I had to take off my bumper to replace it.
