Very very good video....❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂
@@derrijl thank you! 🙌👍
Town and Country turned still can't get it to charge change battery and alternator twice and alternator just won't charge. I installed voltage regulator kit and still not charging. I can't believe two new alternators could be bad.
I can't figure this one out
Have you tested the voltage output with the new alternators? Still low?
@@JonnyDIY are you referring to the two wire connection behind alternator? or the power wire going to charge battery?
@@myviews469 I would check battery voltage with car running to see if alternator is putting out. If not check voltage leaving alternator to see if something wrong between two
ok so I connected the power from a good fuse to alternator ( field, signal ) wire connection and another one which I use to tap the negative side of battery but only while the meter was connected, and car was running what I got was the voltage of the battery 12.3V even as I touched ground wire from alternator it did not increase voltage. now if the alternator is fried I only had on for seconds and never smelled or hear or saw any smoke or do anything wrong. When I look at the specks of the alternator says voltage regulator is external
Why my multimetter read 1 when i put at 20v and at 200v read fine
Make sure leads plugged into right terminals maybe 🤔
Depends on your meters resolution… you may have to use the higher scale with cheaper meters that have fewer counts
I have this issue apeears in not summer my car gooes dtain overnight but now it goes After 10 min i left parked in Street its Golf 4 tdi Any Idea what can be ?
@@TIIRONC5H Try and test it with multimeter to see what kind of draw you're pulling. Also have battery tested first, could be as simple as an old worn out battery. Make sure alternators putting out good voltage too

Can I ask questions
Can’t your starter drain your battery to?
@@trejones5965 yes a malfunctioning starter and even an alternator can drain your battery. It should show up when you test for parasitic drain though 👍
"10 mm bolt". Europe mentioned 😅
@@vendettasnares 🤣💕👍
A multi meter has a % accuracy ready %5 %3 -%3... that's why you get a different reading. You add say 5% if your ones book days its 5%
why not just disconnect the negative terminal,, then check fuses to se which one has power going to it,,, find that fuse ,,there is parasictic drain problem
Yes you can use a test light to check fuses for any power
i think that would only be helpful if the parasitic draw is caused by a bad ground
Good luck finding the 10mm
@@mintorb1 🤣 gotta have a couple backups for sure
Please tell me the riyte size of this car
For battery? I think was 27F
Why it first look like someone was laying on the floor holding your charger 😂
Lol was probably me 🤣
brother i have ford fiesta mk6 1.4 tdci my problem is that whenever i start the car battery warning light comes on the dash but if i fully press the throttle all the way to 5k rpm it starts charging and light goes offf , plz help me to solve this issue . this problem started when i removed the battery
I would start by checking voltage of battery and alternator. Make sure alternator actually putting out the voltage. Then Id put a scan tool on it, sometimes cars can go a lil funny after disconnecting battery. Some local auto stores will scan for free like Oreillys Autozone.
@@JonnyDIY brother actually i m from india here the mechanics r totally illtrate they dont even know how to use a multimeter , just just know how to replace parts & fetch money
@@motologist1917 Bummer, hope you can get it figured out. I'd start with a multimeter for sure though
@@JonnyDIY btw voltage is 14.2 while charging when i revvvv
@@motologist1917 that sounds good for alternator. Seems like something in computer may have tripped when changing battery, does it still drive ok? Id drive if so and see if computer just needs to relearn a base line and go through all the system checks
You working with that Harbor Freight Multimeter. When you dont know what you're doing, youll burn it like me.
ok just saw how you had a major misread using that. not a huge deal but still..
@@vhg8638 yeah I need to get a better multimeter for sure! Maybe a Fluke or Greenlee. This one worked in a pinch though and it's what I had
Taking that battery out really winded you Bro!
🤣 that sucker's heavy and since in high truck was a workout for me while holding camera lol 🚫💪
Do yourself a lifetime favor, buy a good Fluke meter.
😆 yes I need one for sure! Thank you. I've been borrowing my neighbors now, he's an electrician.
@@JonnyDIYgreenlee (rebranded brymen) makes very nice meters at a great price I have the dm820a model I use at home and use a fluke87 and fluke 787 at work. I wouldn’t hesitate to to use the greenlee at work

MYTH--battery will not 'discharge' on concrete. There is no connection. No need to remove battery from the vehicle for charging. From experience. Bill is in the mail 😁
@@annaaron3510 you're right it's an old thing thats been around since when batteries had wood cases and actually would discharge on concrete from the moisture. But now with plastic there's no worries
Damn. People who say ‘go ahead and…”. What an annoying waste of time!
@@silverechohawk5315 Thanks for watching 🙌👍 Happy I could help
3:15 do what to concrete 😂😢
@@Emmnoyhl 🤣 the concrete used to drain old batteries before plastic cases came around
@JonnyDIY fffffff is basic knowledge electricity absorption by ground is mother nature law hence the earth on all electricity networks etc but concrete drains battery don't make sense after all battery self discharge is another mother nature law blame the concrete and isolation material moisture (wood) sounds worse than a myth
Concrete thang is a myth not true with 2010+ batteries
Thanks, it used to be more true before the casings were hard plastic. Old habits die hard 😆
Still don’t want the possibility of acid eating the concrete
Good video, but couldn’t you have just found the draw?
Take Me For A Ride
Stop! I see the problem already, it's a Walmart never start battery. 😊
😂 I usually get them at Autozone, but I thought they had the same manufacturer. Last time I was at Walmart for a battery though they said they got a new supplier now though. I'll have to check who makes them now. Think used to be Johnson controls now maybe Exide
NeverStart 😅
you never want to lay a battery on concrete
That's what I was always taught, but apparently now with plastic casing it doesn't matter 🤷♂️
Keep 👋 lol
Voltage -0.08
Borderline high voltage drop
Too many if's
too much of a hassle. just go to any auto part shop they will check everything for you for free.
Yes I believe I mentioned that if you don't possess the tools or interest in learning to do yourself 👍 Auto store won't find battery drains though
I’ve had them pass bad batteries before

Discharge to the concrete? The case of battery is made of plastic. Not conductive.
Old timers drilled it into my head 🤣 from I guess when they used to be made of wood

in todays world putting batteries in concrete/ground is totally fine..this harkens back to the daze that battery cases were composes of different materials.. today battery cases are made of plastics that don't allow this discharge...
Thanks, yes you're right. I just had it pounded into my head by old timer's that I believed it to be true. Nice to know it's ok to leave on concrete/ground now 👍
