One of the greatest singers of all time....Mr. David Ruffin. I saw the The Temptations in 1965, at the RKO Proctors Theater in Newark, NJ. What a time in history for music...what a group. I was 14 years old. I went with 4 of my friends. We were the only white people in the audience. It changed my life. God Bless you David and The Temptations.
David Ruffin is My Favorite Singer of all time - His Soul is without peer … Eddie is the Sweetest Falsetto of them all… Dennis was that down home Soul Sanger… You can't tell me that Heaven doesn't sound like this…. Peace & Blessings!!!
David Ruffin was a true LEGEND!!!! THE MOST HIGH gifted him from his mother's womb!!!! His sound never changed. Eddie Kendricks & Dennis Edwards were also gifted as well. Each had their own unique style that stood out. They are no doubt remarkable & extraordinary!!
Growing up with Motown I never ever heard any comments that Mr. David Ruffin had a bad voice or lost his voice. His voice reaches to all the temptation songs legacy that I also never ever heard one person say his voice got bad due to drugs from what people are saying in some comments. On the contrary they new his voice was undeniably gifted and unique but to manage him according to Motown was the only issues. His voice along with Eddie Kendricks are unique and stand alone. They both had top hits without the temptations we can all agree to and that's something that we all know and love. For me cause his voice is so David Ruffin like Marvin Gaye even Smokey Robinson's voice. No one can out do them their iconic and have and will continue to stand the test of time. Mr. David Ruffin/ Eddie Kendricks both of you R.I.P.
Wow, what a treat to see this for the 1st time. I grew up listening to The Temptations & singing their beautiful songs & harmonies since the 60's. Just hearing David's unmistakable & dynamite voice gets me choked up. Of course, Eddie, David & Dennis were all extraordinary frontmen for The Tempts & will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace my brothers.
When God wants to move heaven and earth, He has David Ruffin sing this song. RIP David Ruffin. I closed the window, but the raindrops keep falling from my eyes.
No one did it better than David but for a long time, a lot of songs I thought were led by David were actually led by Paul Williams, another who passed away way too soon. Of course, I quickly learned to differentiate between the two.
The hair on my arm stand on end when David Rufin sings, what a voice. There will only ever be one despite the many that followed him as Lead with the Temps. Dennis did a great job but in a different way. Eddie - well his sweet falsetto is unmistakable and pure silk. Rest in Peace Gus thankyou for your music, it changed my life in so many ways.

Yes, these are the 3 lead voices that sang all of those hits that we enjoy. I can't forget Paul Williams either. I do wish someone had fought hard to keep this group together. It seemed like they were treated like replaceable parts, when it was the original sound that they all made together that was so special.
Otis did fight to keep the group and he proved that The Temptations was an institution and not just individuals. It was more than just David, Eddie, and Dennis. It was also Otis, Melvin, Richard, Ollie, and Paul who were all great singers in their own right.
I was lucky enough to see these legends when they were touring the UK in 1990, a night I'll never forget! They were amazing, their voices were still perfect!
David you know I believe you got better as you got older. You. rearrange these songs and your performances epitomizes your GOD gifted talents and phenomenal greatness. It.merge over to Eddie and Dennis. The entire group looks and sounds fantastic. It's really strange, these performances are as good or even better as those in the early days.
I love the Temptations
To those one that's not here today ,RIP
David Ruffins was a gift from God to us God showed us so much thru him .RIP Mr. Ruffin
We learn that the gifted can also be very abusive. That's what we learn. Don't know about the God bit

Drugs messed up his body, but that voice remained in tip top condition i love this man so much!
Me tooooooooo!!!!!!!
Exactly, he still had his voice.

Singing
Growing up with Motown I never ever heard any comments that
Mr.
This man can blow. No one can touch this. Gone but not forgotten.
David Ruffin the magnificent! Thee lead singer of the Temps. He was so wonderful! What a voice! What a presence! We love you David! Miss you always!
Listen to music by The O'Jays
Just listen three of the greatest singers ever!!!!

David Ruffin was the man. hands down! sing it David!
I can never stop listening to the music of David Ruffin and the Temptations. They are the best
Beautiful group of men! No foul language or putting the putting the women down! By the way who are the back up singers
@@laurahargett243 Nate Evans Josie Short and David Sea
David Ruffin was the VOICE of the Temptations!! Nuff said. No one has ever done it better than Mr Ruffin!!
No one did it better than David but for a long time, a lot of songs I thought were led by David were actually led by Paul Williams, another who passed away way too soon. Of course, I quickly learned to differentiate between the two.
Yes Paul could sing but David was the man real talk you David sip.
skyy212 umm the guy on the end on the right called dennis edwards the best temptations singer ever.
@@fredbennett3549 Don't do that Fred.
EDDIE KENDRICKS 2 HANDSOME
I LOVE THE TEMPTATIONS, I THINK DAVID RUFFIN TOOK TEMPTATIONS TO ANOTHER LEVEL, HE HAD A GREAT VOICE!!
David Ruffin is just amaaaazing. His voice is great. Love him. RIP Mr. Ruffin
Temptations will always live on through the music. Temptations 4-life! R.I.P. Eddie, David, Dennis and Paul Williams!
David Ruffin was a legend what a fantastic voice R.I.P brotha
Forever the masters of motown! I'll always be in love with David Ruffin. So sad they died so young. Otis Williams is thankfully still with us. God bless them all. Ain't too proud to beg, my favorite
Pure magic, David Ruffin & Eddie Kendrick's voices will never be forgotten, got I miss the ORIGINAL Temps RIP
David Ruffin and Eddie Kendricks, two different styles. Eddie had the sweetest top tenor ever. May they both RIP...🎼🎶❤️🎶🎶
Jean Holzer We can add Dennis to that list two. He was the grittier of the three. He couldn’t replace David, but he didn’t miss a step either. May all three Rest in Power
Aren't they the sweetest trio you've ever saw! This is priceless
My baby Dave Eddie and denny!
David Ruffin and the Temptations! THE GOAT...

I can listen to David sing anything....Eddie oh Fine as Eddie was just as beautiful as his voice,
David's such a talented and handsome man and he's aged very well. R.I.P
YES DAVID... U BETTER SANG 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
David ruffen singing voice was a gift from God rest in peace love you 😇😇💟💖😊🌼❣️🎁🌸💓
Yes, these are the 3 lead voices that sang all of those hits that we enjoy. I can't forget Paul Williams either. I do wish someone had fought hard to keep this group together. It seemed like they were treated like replaceable parts, when it was the original sound that they all made together that was so special.
Wow, imagine is Paul was alive. He definitely would have toured with these guys. It would have been great. R.I.P. Paul.
Gail Clarke
Otis did fight to keep the group and he proved that The Temptations was an institution and not just individuals. It was more than just David, Eddie, and Dennis. It was also Otis, Melvin, Richard, Ollie, and Paul who were all great singers in their own right.
Otis fought to keep the name. The group died with Paul
@@wjc9600 Otis was not a great anything. He didn't hold it together, he tore it apart, he just managed to keep the name for himself.
David was just incredible.....
I was lucky enough to see these legends when they were touring the UK in 1990, a night I'll never forget! They were amazing, their voices were still perfect!
David Ruffin had the best voice I’ve ever heard.
No Dennis Edward’s is the greatest I ever heard
Every day I wish I could have just seen them in person, I still play all their music. They are truly missed.
Nate Evans, David Sea and Josie Short, superb addition. Love Cora Hudson Guice
Ah, how I wish it would rain... This is pure gold, and so was David.
The main Temptations six of them Paul, Eddie, David, Melvin, Otis and Dennis !.
They weren't actually the main Temptations.
Otis, Paul, Eddie, Al and Melvin were the original Temptations..
@@marshalllsmith2095 - Actually, Larry is correct because in 1989, when the Temptations were inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame, the six members were listed as David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks, Paul Williams, Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin and Dennis Edwards! Elbridge (Al) Bryant is not listed even though he is an original member!
@@miroslavaacevedo1387
How did you manage to say Al wasn't an original member????
Then say at the end of your statement that he wasn't mentioned but he was??
(Did) you know that Ruffin replaced Al, after he left the group??
@@marshalllsmith2095 - You are confusing the hell out of me! As I mention again, Elbridge Bryant was an original member of the Temptations but was replaced by David Ruffin in January, 1964! His contribution to the Temptations are minimal at best and was his fault ( like David Ruffin) when he was ousted by the Temptations! I hope now you understand what I am talking about!
@@miroslavaacevedo1387
You might have said that in another statement when you were conversing with someone else.
Because I seen (no mention) of it in any of the conversations that are listed between you and I..
David Ruffin, what a sad life, what a wonderful voice. Rest In Peace David, Eddy & Paul.
The first line David sang, blew me away! Fantastic.
