Meet Ayman Lee. After 20 years of growing up in Egypt, he came to Korea where almost immediately he was mandatorily sent to the Korean Army, spending two years in a very specific, hierarchical lifestyle all while not speaking Korean fluently. He shares what it was like to grow up in an Islamic state as mixed Korean, the struggles of the Korean army, what it means to be 'Korean,' and the hint of a love story to come... stay tuned ;) Do you think you could survive the Korean military? Let us know below!
I love what you are doing and the cultural thrust of the program. It's been really eye-opening for me on many different levels. The interviews are great and the wide range of topics deeply interesting.. I would ask, however, that you either stop the continual background "music" or reduce the volume to near zero. It really interferes with trying to hear and understand what is being said. It's truly quite annoying. Thank you!
