    - Ep.78: In October 2015, Nahid's family from Afghanistan visited My Neighbor Charles. They came to Korea to escape from the war but things were still pretty hard for them in Korea as they weren't acknowledged as refugees. Nahid's parents don't have very good health condition and her mom can't go outside due to Islamic law. So Nahid had to take care of everything. It's been a year and Nahid's family is here once again!

    this young girl proved muturity does not come from age, but from your struggles and the inviroment which you live in. dont underestimate children, sometimes they can be more muture then adults. she has given her childhood to be a mother to her siblings, that's true sacrafice. may Allah blessing be with her family always.

      I don't mean this as offensive but if he wants to he a doctor in South Korea he needs to learn the language. Being a doctor involves a lot of important, effective, and seamless communication. He needs to be fluent and be able to speak like a native Korean to work as a doctor.

    Nahid is such a caring older sister. I like how she takes care of her brothers. We may be separated by religion or language barrier but we are Human after all. Watching this makes me emotional despite that this was recommended to me after 4yrs.

    • @EV-EV-EV
      @EV-EV-EV Рік тому +1

      We are not all human after all, their religion makes all the difference. These people don't believe in individualism and because of their faith, they are less ambitious and put the needs of others before their own. Can you imagine such families here in the modern Western world or among people that have adopted Western secular way of life? No. Hell, we have now abandoned the concept of families altogether down the bin.

    Nahid's family really taught me a priceless lesson about no matter how hard live hits you, rather than blaming Allah and make a space from Him, better to keep praying to Allah SWT and stay connected with Him. Keep praying to Allah, although our prayer hasn't answered yet. Don't ever loose hope, because He never sleeps. I saw the strong believe of these principle from every single eyes of this adorable family. May Allah bless your family and ease your live, both in dunya and akhirah. YaAllah I might not know them in person, but please grant them your jannah. As they already gave me a reminder to always be thankful to Your blessings!

    As a Korean who is living in Qatar, I am feeling really really sad for their situation. I wish Korean government offered them a refugee visa so that they can be fine. Korea used to get lots of help even from Ethiopia and other poor African countries back in 1960s and now I really think we are ready to help others too. Although we have many poor Koreans who need also help, I think we can still help other foreigners who need help too since we are all the same human beings living on the same Earth. Anyways, I feel really bad and sad for them. Hope they manage to have a better life inshallah.

      혹시 2015년에 했던 본방송 보셨나요? 유툽에 올라온거는 인터뷰랑 스튜디오 인터뷰 많이 편집된것 같네요......압둘이라는 사람 7년동안 한국에 살면서 한국어도 못하고 아프가니스탄 전통이라고 손님접대 문화 때문에 집은 2채 있어야 한다고 집 2채씩 씁니다. (월세 2배씩 부담하면서도 전통 포기 못하겠다 이거죠,,,)종교적인 전통 때문에 와이프는 카메라에 나오지도 못하게 하고 촬영 스태프들도 전부 여자만 집에 들어오게 했습니다. 뿐만 아니라 하는 말은 전부다 불평 불만.... 결국 저 사람이 원하는건 집 무료로 달라, 애들 무료로 대학 보내고 싶다, 건강보험 무료로 좀 해달라 이겁니다. 한국도 refugee 관련법 다 있습니다. 다만 입증 책임이 본인에게 있기 때문에 입증하기 어려운 것 뿐이죠.
      아시아에서 UN분담금, UN난민기구 분담금 한국이랑 비슷해게 부담하거나 한국보다 더 많이 부담하는 나라는 일본 , 중국 정도 밖에 없습니다.
      매년 발표되는 빈곤국 개발 공헌도 지수만 봐도 아시아 (한 100여개국 되나요?)
      전체에서 한국보다 더 공헌도 높은 나라는 일본 밖에 없습니다. 에티오피아에 한국사람들 꾸준히 의료봉사하고 한국인이 운영하는 병원도 있고
      민간 차원 원조 꾸준히 계속되고 있습니다
      아프가니스탄에서 코란 태웠다고 누명을 쓴 여자가 군중들 한테 돌 맞아 죽었습니다. 아직까지 매매혼, 조혼, 여성차별같은 악습들이 용인되는 나라이구요
      REFUGEE도 가려서 받아야지요... 종교를 대한민국 헌법보다 우선시 여기는 외국인은 ...... 사우디로 보내는게 ......

    Having watched how this gorgeous family defeats adversaries through smiling & showing gratitude, I feel how demanding, selfish, & craving unnecessary items we are, meanwhile, there are millions of millions of people who are literally scavenging for food from garbage, drinking undrinkable water, and the luckiest of them might have a shelter, dine once a day like this family.
    I have been going through depression for the past couple of years, seeing a good doctor, & having been provided with medicine due to such feelings of being insecure & unfulfilled, yet after this tear-jerker, I should shout out loud that I am super lucky & I have got too many things ... This family commands a great respect for their belief, endurance, & patience ... & on top of that for teaching me a lesson about life❣️

    • @Cksncrm
      @Cksncrm 5 років тому +218

      It's not part of Islamic law. It's become part of Afghan culture because of the wars and followed by some ethnicities in Afghanistan. Some Afghan men don't want their wives working or going out and about in public for fear they may get harassed and that would be considered dishonorable for the men, because the men are supposed to be protecting their wives. The idea of protecting the wife by keeping her at home became more ingrained in society after the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in the 80s because women would get attacked on their way to schools/ the grocery store etc.

      Life is easy here?!! Wow, you must be really wealthy or just naive. There are some countries in Europe, especially Eastern Europe where life is much worse for folks especially in this cost of living crisis and standard of living is much lower than Korea. Korea is a rich
      developed country. Sure it’s sad to see this family struggle but they are the lucky ones compared to other Afghanis who are stuck in Afghanistan .

      No, I know it is quite hard, with all the prices. Prices really did raise here in Ireland. But, I can definitely say that my life is many times easier then theirs, since they have a big family, and a small house, with little income🧸

    • @Rebelass74
      @Rebelass74 Рік тому

      @@halima_. Well stop saying life is easy for you because you live in Europe. Many people in Europe has far worse standard of living than these folks. One of the reason why this family is struggling is because they haven’t made an effort to learn Korean. They will get better jobs and opportunity if they learn Korean. Their life is hard but they still live in Korea. You make it sound like they live in some poor third world country like Afghanistan where they originally came from. I get what you’re trying to imply but say it in the right context.

She did it out love for her family, and she thinks that should be her responsibility. When she made that planning for summer holiday...whoa. My admiration towards her grows even more.

      Some info may not be totally false but rather inaccurate..
      Friday is a holy day for Muslim with a special prayer and preach.. it is like Sunday for Christians and Saturday for Jews.. but it is not the only day where Muslims pray..
      Muslims pray five times a day every day.. there times are: at sunrise (Fajr), at noon ( Dhuhr), late afternoon (Asr), sunset ( Maghrib) and early night (Esha).
      Also, Muslims can eat meat except for anything that comes from pigs..
      However, it has to be Halal..

    Please correct the information that: " her mom can't go outside due to Islamic law." as this is not part of Islamic Law. It is most like a cultural practice. You should not put information that is incorrect especially when utilizing a media outlet. This incorrect information will continue to give Islam negative connotation.
