    They're still a hard ass band. Love that organ. It's always good to see and hear a band that's been around for so long. Rock on Rebeka. 😮

    One of Deep Purple's best songs w/ Steve Morse (guitar) is - 'Sometimes I feel like screaming'...🤘🤘
    Other Deep Purple classics - "Demon's eye" ... 'Pictures of home'... 'Knocking at your back door'

    They are still going today and it's 13 years after this 2011 performance. To be fair there have been some personnel changes. This guitarist is Steve Morse and not Ritchie Blackmore, but Blackmore is also still active with his band Blackmore's Night (wife Candice Night is the singer) and the keyboard player, Jon Lord has passed away as well but his replacement is a long time Deep Purple member and has had a long resume prior to joining Deep Purple. Actually, guitarist Steve Morse left to care for his ill wife and I am not sure if he will return as I believe unfortunately his wife has passed, if I am not mistaken.

    First time seeing this. Ian Gillan's vocals surprised me as well. And Steve Morse emulated Ritchie's riffs with ease. Your subscribers made a wise choice! Rock on!🤘

    Been on of my favorite bands since the early seventies. I'm very impressed how Ian Gillan can still hit those high notes and hold them.He now looks like a manager at a auto dealership. That goes to show you that looks can be deceiving!

    Deep Purple started in 1968, “Hard Lovin’ Man” was recorded in January 1970, and here today, 2024, they are still touring, they will be here in Australia a few weeks from now.
    Three of the five who recorded Hard Lovin’ Man in 1970 are still there:
    * Ian Gillan - vocals
    * Roger Glover - bass
    * Ian Paice - drums
    * Jon Lord - keyboards - retired 2002, died 2012
    * Ritchie Blackmore - lead guitar - quit 1993
    * Don Airey - keyboards - replaced Jon Lord in 2002
    * After Blackmore quit mid tour in 1993, Joe Satriani stepped in as a ‘touring’ member for about a year.
    * Steve Morse was the full time lead guitar replacement and was in the band from 1994 to 2022 (longer than Blackmore), he retired to look after his wife who has cancer.
    * Simon McBride - lead guitar - replaced Morse in 2022
    It’s now 56 years since Deep Purple started, and they’re still going strong!
    Cheers,

    Believe it or not, this line-up of Deep Purple from 2003 to 2022 was the most durable line-up of the band... Ian Gillan (vocals), Roger Glover (bass) and Ian Paice (drums) ... w/ Don Airey (keyboards/ organ) and Steve Morse (guitar) ... (They replaced original keyboardist Jon Lord and original guitarist Ritchie Blackmore)
    Steve Morse is an amazing guitarist and has been in a number of bands like Kansas... Dixie Dregs ... Flying Colors... He joined Deep Purple in 1994 as one of the top rated guitarists of all time... He left amicably in 2022 after his wife was diagnosed w/ cancer and he wanted time to take care of her... and devote less time to music.
    Simon McBride (guitar) joined Deep Purple in 2023 and has done a great job playing the songs recorded by Ritchie Blackmore and Steve Morse.

    You should hear the original from 1970 when Ian Gillan could hit the high notes. This song is pure adrenaline! Still, this performance was pretty good.

    Since you like orchestras being added to a song plus having a member of Deep Purple being involved, return back to the group Rainbow. One of their best songs is called "Stargazer" which has the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra playing in the back ground, especially at the end. Such an Epic song.

    NICE SONG CHOICE TO REACT REBEKA

  • @flavio_spqr

    Didn't know they played this one live, and "recently" at that. One of my favourite Purple songs. I like to call it proto-Thrash Metal, the studio version at least. It's a lot more distorted than this. This live take has a "cleaner" sound.
    I saw them, last time, in October 2022. Ian can't scream like that today, but he still sounds so very good. The whole band does!
    And... I'm gonna be the one to say it. I'm actually surprised you haven't reacted to them before, but... If you like orchestra like you said, you really need to check out Nightwish. Symphonic Metal. Orchestral arrangements in everything they do.

    One more fine reaction, congratulations!
    But... I'm sorry, I disagree with you and with some people, here!
    Because they still rock, but they're not the same without Jon Lord (R.I.P.) and Ritchie Blackmore.
    It seems to me something is missing - and it is! A whole amount of talent!
    Don't get me wrong, these guys who play organ and guitar in this video are good, but...not so good as Jon and Ritchie!
    Unfortunately, I've just been able to see Deep Purple live once, some decades ago, and I got to tell you... Jon Lord killed it!
    The best performance of a keyboardist I'd ever seen!
    Although it's always good to see Ian Gillian performing; in this video, one more great performance, you're right.
    And you're also right regarding to having an orchestra on stage: usually, it increases the performance of any rock band.
    I'd love to see you reacting to some DP's songs: "Knocking at your back door"; "Wasted sunsets"; "Strange kind of woman".

    Great song, there all in their 70s here...interestingly enough this band has been around nearly 40 years longer than black Sabbath and led zeppelin who only lasted 20 years until the 80s these guys are still going. ...both ian gillan and Roger glover are about turn 80 the year after 2025..
