Looking great! The new mods are going to be great. Business has been crazy, so I haven't touched the warhawk in a while...plus I've been learning to weld, so that's gotta happen regardless before I can start making any of my metal parts.
have your exhaust extend past fuselage so you have some air gap between exit and fuselage skin, old design seemed very close as indicated by burning of the paint. have a Merry Christmas
I cannot believe the effort you are going to use and modify that Matco tailwheel when you could find or make a Hague locking tailwheel! It’ll be a proven setup and probably lighter too.
Just fantastic what you are doing with the plane… Down here in Southern Central Kansas on the Oklahoma border we sure need some rain…. I sure don’t want a snow like you got… Sure be hard on the livestock, not to mention getting around to feed them… Really enjoy your videos…. Very educational…. Thanks for sharing them….
Gotta love the lake effect snow belt, nothing like 6" of partly cloudy. I'm east of Cleveland, had 4 inches of snow and my buddy 14 miles east of me had 3 feet.😎
😊 Keep a list of things you do and good drawings of all mods that you do for future of the aircraft. Keep up the good work and see you flying again. Thanks for the updates.
Kinda figured you for snow, I have family units in Hamburg NY and they got the usual 4 ft. You have quite a few balls in the air, but you seem to take it in stride. Lucky it happened after you got some flight time in so you can use the winter to rethink and/or debug the things needing changing and be ready for next summer. I like the new tail wheel mount and the cowl vents will be helpful. Thanks for the video what with all the snow & other things. Merry Christmas if we don't comm 'til then.
Good video- learning about exhaust system design. As your own project manager, keep a list and description of tasks, a thumbnail sketch with callouts and notes on separate sheets might work for you. My old boss wrote everything down, made it easy to track details and meet deadlines.
I watched the weather that hit you guys. I was curious how much you got. I'm glad we don't get lake effect snow, here in Kansas City. We got 5" the Saturday after Thanksgiving and it stayed around for a few days, then it got warm. We were in the 50's yesterday and today; I can't imagine 4' of snow! 😲😲 Will your oil tank be aluminum and have fins? You'll definitely want to use foaming WD-40, or something similar, when you cut that tubing on your saw.
Why are you even messing with a muffler? Why can't you just run straight pipes? The things you have to weld and connect leans just way more areas for things to fail as you have seen already
Keep up the good work Don. This project has been so fantastic; mishap and all. The joys of owning an aircraft. You rock.

Your ingenuity and planning are off the charts! Fabrication skills are unbelievable! I have to give you my full respect!👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Nice to see you marching thru your task list!

*Don, your AMAZING work on your Corsair is a keepin' on, FIRST RATE get her flying again effort.*

Just from a search right now, I can't even find them. Only a couple of pictures.
@maybe post a WTB ad on the Biplane Forum or other online forums like VAF..They are out there used..
Thanks Don, great new info....😅
Great to see your progress, stay warm!
Thank You for the update and insight of the project brother : )

You got off easy.

Thanks for the updates.
Most of my work is saved on CAD drawings.
Nice job.
That's a lot of work, Don. Good luck!

I usually draw up sketches and or cad drawings.
Keep an eye on the weight....seems like your adding a lot. You'd onto need the wing loading to increase.
I will re weigh the plane when finished. The exhaust will be lighter, as well as the oil system. I just can't move the weight too far forward.

Today it's going to be close to 50, and it's raining.
I use a chop saw blade to cut the tubing, no oil needed.
Did I miss a few videos ??? I keep watch for every video you put out, but I feel I missed something
Go to my channel and have a look around.

Only the muffler failed, not the pipes. I hate loud exhaust!
