I started to play drums at 63 years old when arthritus in my knuckles stopped me from playing Bass. I'm now 71 and still playing and having great fun

Dorothea is amazing as always. We also need to remember that Nicko McBrain will be 70 in 2022 and he's never sounded better. Age is never a problem unless you make it so.

My brain just can’t process this woman plays drums so well. She’s the most unsuspecting drummer I’ve ever seen. Imagine her turning up to a jam night dressed as she is, and then slaying it. She’s awesome!

Dorothea Taylor once posted a video on youtube of her grandson drumming at a very young age. Or maybe it was her son, I forget now. Very young kid anyway. I commented on her video to say that my son (he's just 2 and a half years old) also has a little drumkit but he can't play like the kid in her video. I said it was probably my fault for being a guitar player. She replied saying that yes, it probably was my fault for being a guitar player XD She's a class act and thanks for posting this, it's always a pleasure to watch her play.

Nice! And Carol Kaye? Godmother of bass playing. Played on thousands of records including Beach Boys & Sonny & Cher, etc.
Dorothea's Drumeo session on paradiddles (and variations on diddles) was both highly informative but infectiously entertaining. I watched it, went off and practised for about an hour to just get hand timings right (my right leg, bless it, was trying its best to add variations but, when I looked down, appeared to favour real ghost notes - after 3 hits all power had gone and the clapper wasn't quite making it to the drum! It made me laugh anyway). Happy New Year mate and raise a glass to 2022.

Solid drummer in your opinion, there's no proof she is, it's all by what each person thinks. Some people say bonham was the greatest, some say others like peart or rich etc. It's opinions.
I'm not impressed with that type of music i guess. That's basic type drumming in my opinion. MANY people can play what she played on this video.
@@deangoings Just sounded like a sour grapes comment. Drumeo has her drumming lessons on their site so they think highly of her. But each to their own, I think she's an inspirational figure. And I love Neil Peart too.
she is such a dry player it makes it almost plain and boring... which is just a taste thing... she obviously knows what she is doing
