As someone who struggles with art and always feels as if the things I draw aren’t good enough, it really inspires and comforts me to know that Ethan is under my bed while I’m sleeping, or just around the corner while I’m showering, just a holler away. It’s nice to know that he cares enough to invade the privacy of my home.
There're two drawers full of pointy things under my bed, I hope he's alright
Yeah, so creepy, but nice
This is one of my favorite comments now
the "never meet your heroes" thing is not true for you
you were actually just a really nice person to meet and talk to and Im so glad I mustered the courage to do it
CONNECTIONS BABY!
it was heartwarming to see you, and I hope to see you again next year
AYYYY I'm the first girl talkiiiing!
Thank you soo much for using my video and also taking the time to talk to us, what you shared was special and it stayed with me for these past weeks and I bet I'll continue to think about it over and over again. Your talk was def one of my favorites and I'm really really glad you enjoyed your trip ♡♡♡ hope you come back soon!!
Can't believe he ACTUALLY came to Brazil, BORA CARAIO!!!!!!!!
SIIIIM MLK
VAI BRASIL
Huehuehue
É BRASIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
IS THAT A MFCKING BRAZILIAN REFEFENCE?!?!?
That feeling of community is EXACTLY what I'm missing and longing for.
HE ACTUALLY CAME TO BRAZIL LET'S GOOOOOOOOO
um dia também espero poder participar do Topia :)
AAAAAAAAAAA QUE FELICIDADEEEEE EU ACHAVA QUE ERA PIADAA
Sério??? Que legal mano
Aaaaaa isso muito foda
:)
o pessoal cantando evidências me matou kkkkkkkk
if a Brazilian crowd sings to you Evidências as a chorus, that means they really love you
you experienced how Brazil is so difficult to be tankable, congratulations! Come to Brazil again! and bring more friends!! We loved your presentation!
N tankei
I will NEVER forget the karaoke, it was the BEST day of my entire life
A huge shout-out to my dudes at 6:33 they can easily move the "communication mountains", these guys made my experience so much better
SALVE LAYON MEU PIVETE
@@CaiquePituba ALEGRIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I have to admit that I'm not the type of people that comments too much on yt videos... BUT I NEEDED TO COMMENT ON THIS ONE!
It's a GREAT video. It opened my mind about things on my art that I've never thought about, like using MY OWN experiences on it, something that is just mine, 'cause no one's gonna EVER have it, they're mine and that's me!
And another thing is... MANO, ELE VEIO PRO BRASIL, GALERA! UHUU! Cara, se tem uma coisa que eu não imaginava era qualquer yt gringo vir pra cá... Ou eu simplesmente sempre fico feliz qnd isso acontece, especialmente um artista 🙃
Translation: BRO, HE CAME TO BRASIL, GUYS! YAY! Man, if there's one thing that I haven't imagined was any gringo(expression that we use for someone that's not Brazilian) UA-camr coming... Or I just always am too happy when this happens, specially an artist 🙃
(Sorry if my English isn't that good, I'm a Brazilian after all, not a native speaker lol)
This is exactly what I needed and honestly I am getting a little teary eyed just thinking about it. I have been trying to start a videogame and do character concept during the summer. And seeing so many videos about different techniques and the need to be perfect and original and have beautiful presentation like artists I know, I got so extremely overwhelmed. All I could think about is failing and getting frustrated at my art. It is really nice to remember that I am passionate about something and there are people just like me out there. And it is okay to fail, as long as you are sharing your vision to others. And that at the end of the day, not to put so much pressure on yourself. To connect with your roots and take a breather. Truly thank you so much
you wrote my comment so i don't have to. so thank you randy :3
@@gilara4622 no problem, I hope you feel better about your art. It is a upwards fight but all we can do is try, right?
@@Pipubbles exactly ☺
Sleep,remeber dream,make character, repeat
Cant miss a design when it got told to you through a dream.
wish i had the opportunity to go, sounds like such a relief for artists feeling the huge amount of pressure of being/trying to become a professional
I am Brazilian, and this video made me so happy I can't even describe it
Finally, Art in Brazil is being recognized!!
A GENTE É FODA!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
It wouldn't be Brazil if there wasn't a crowd singing Evidências lol
I hope I can go to the next Topia, it seems very fun!
I love the little vlogs. I've been thinking about incorporating my experiences into my art lately instead of just trying to imitate others. All great advice.
Also...I've never been this early lol
When I saw Caio Martins insta stories with you, I was so happy! I'm glad you enjoyed Topia, it's such a amazing event which I hope to go someday
This really helped me so far, honestly I haven’t been thinking that way and just been beating my self up but thank you for this video Ethan
It's very nice watching an artist for so long time, and then he just goes to your country and talk about stuff that for us is so common, like a Tim Maia song, but with passion and saying that this is unique.
BTW, if you go to Brazil again, pls eat a candy called "Paçoca", good stuff 💯💯
Too much emphasis is placed on finding a style. A style Is formed in reaction to learning to master a art from. Your natural habits is what makes your style, your interpretation, unique.
Miss you honey! Hope you're back here to see our child's birth
I think I finally get what Ethan was saying about drawing from imagination, obviously you can draw from your imagination making new characters and unique designs but you should always use a reference of some kind
ELE COM O MAX MEDINA, O CPITUBA, COM MEUS ARTISTAS FAVS VEY😭😭😭😭😭
TÃO DEIXANDO A GENTE SONHAR😩❤️
Vei, pense na loucura HAHAHAH
rapaz, isso foi bom demais... hehe
Millenials/genZ crying out for a community. I feel this too. When I'm working on my own at home, it's isolating, it's sucks.
I just had... probably the shittiest day ever. Seeing this (on top of drinking a stiff drink tbh) really.. really helped. going to lightbox expo this year so if anyone wants to connect in a similar spontaneous fashion- hit my line lets give it a shot :D
I just started having this realizations about ignoring what has been done and focus on telling a new story. During brainstorming I did think about pulling from a very heartbreaking experience I had 2 years ago and putting it into a story. But it is a very interesting experience to draw from for my story.
Ethan every pic “ 😚”
The editing on this really hits me in the feels.
Hey Ethan, my man! It was amazing to share this experience and all this learning with you. Big hug friend!
Ethan's 😗✌ face in all his photos gives me life
The montage in the beginning was aesthetically perfect. Also, great tips thanks man
I think the best part of this video, to me, is watching the city connect with each other and no treating each other as a ‘them’ or ‘other’. The culture over there just seems to homey, and just the simple act of sharing a cigarette just felt so raw.
Brazil have its problems but yeah, we’re a helluva welcoming bunch lol
Nem fodendo, can't believe you came to Brazil and I didn't even knew this event. Count me in next year, also nice to hear some Tim Maia in the vid.
Thank you for coming Ethan! I hope you come next time too!
Yo man, I've been following you since forever but this video just moved me, Its like my brain just "unlocked" and inspiration started flooding in! Thank you Eathan for sharing this wisdom with us!
He was here in brazil and I couldn't meet him💀
I like how you’ve blended your character with just who you are to make someone reminiscent of that persona who’s still compassionate and joyful for the art community.
I hope sometime soon I’ll be able to find that group of artists who love to see other people’s lives through their work just as much as they show their’s, and push to support one another like them. Everything down to how they live life and greet the folk on the streets as they are their own. Everything in the US perhaps from my perspective seems very individualistic and unconnected.
I'M THE GUY IN THE I WAS YOU BIT
The editing was fucking sharp in this one 👌
Its really nice to hear from artists outside of Brazil to be talking about here. Its not wrong to say that this is heaven on earth, Brazil is a paradise full of great people, places and food. We have a lot of problems for sure but damn I love this fucking country. Come more times 🙏🏻
Topia was amazing and I didn't even enter it. Me and 5 friends of mine took a bus to Curitiba just to HANG with the artists who'd be in the city at that moment.
To be around such wonderful people after so much time of isolation was very special. Connections really are the basis to anyone, specially artists :)
This sure looked like a beautiful experience. So happy for everyone.
Making more art of ME is something I need to focus more on as well
Ethan thanks for your videos, i want to do animations and my own projects one day but i don't take the initiative to really learn anything but watching your videos makes me feel that I'm slowly learning, this video in Brazil made me feel represented, Muito obrigado e espero que veja isso❤️
No way, I was just binging all of your videos and then saw the new upload! Thank you for showing us the favor sided triangle and other tips, I'm so excited for these tips as well 😭
We are awesome, thanks Ethan for showing more people
Takeaway, Connection and relationship is really key.
Aww such a wholesome and supportive group of people!
This helped me thank you. ❤
Hey Ethan, I'm currently going through a similar episode of going out and living life through growing relationships, and this video hits straight in the heart. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
this is one of your best videos
I appreciate your longer videos so much!!!
Very beautifu video!....sometimes we feel like we're losing ourselves by trying to keep up with what's new and the algorithm of social media...but with vídeos like this makes you realize that you need to be truth to yourself and just draw what you feel like it...and keep moving forward...thanks for this video again 😀
VAMOOOO!! So many good memories! That kind of connection during those days was some powerfull shit! It's like we all fragments of each other, just waiting to the opportunity to feel as one. Also the karaoke night was the bomb kkkkkk miss you man! Thanks for the video - priceless nugget of memory gold!
Eu não acredito que ele tava aqui cara
Cara eu tbm não
Tirei foto com ele 🤭
this is an insane video thank you ethan, well.. every video is insane but im also happy about every upload
6:14 Feeling like a rockstar with Chitãozinho & Xororó.
Thank you Ethan for your positive energy.
As an Illustrator and animator, i love Ur vids.
Needed this video I’ve been struggling finding my art style now I know where to start looking
Ethan viu com os próprios olhos que o bostil é intankavel
simplesmente o come to brazil da vida real do entretenimento
realmente kkkj
Brazilian here, never considered topia but this video + a good friend referral convinced me to try to go next year haha
Love you, Ethan!! Thanks for the inspiring content! 💕
I lived in the Dominican Republic for 2 years and going back there for art school for bit, I definitely got most of my style from my environment instead of the media I consumed. Seeing this different part of the world for that time taught me so much about the world and the way art is used to help communicate perspectives and stories. Its a similar thing with poverty there like in Brazil and they treat it differently from Americans as well. Good video Ethan Awesome
Thanks for the tips Ethan, love ya brah
I hate being egotistical, but the only thing I really do and I still feel bad is when I meet people who are really good at their craft in my mind I say "You don't know me yet." and I do this all the time, it's nice to see that I'm not alone. Still I do believe I don't deserve it more than anyone else, it is a way to push myself to work harder and to meet people.
Experiences like these are my favorite things and what I want in my life as soon as possible I really hope to capture it in my art, photography and when I make music with my friends! Thing like these build experience and relationships in people and I love that
"You dont know who I am YET, but you will". This resonates with me so fucking much.
It's so easy to believe as an artist that you aren't meant to or can't relate to other people and thats so not true, loved this whole video thank u!
This video is full of soul
This is why we love Daddy Ethan Becker ❤️
Bro! 0:16 i was drinking milk and i almost spit all when you said you ve been to topia xD thats awesome!!
I missed your videos You where the only art UA-camr I liked
it was awesome Ethan!!!! I hope to see you again in the next!! Miss you Topia
I can't believe I'm actually on this video, thanks a lot Ethan, abracinhos do seu amigo brasileiro
te amo Ethan POHA
Stll can't believe that all of this (and more!) happened!
Hey, and it doesn't have to even be in person these days!!
For those of you either too far away for social events to get an affordable plane ticket, or too nervous - There *ARE* some very great communities here on yt, discord, the list goes on.
No one is ever Out Of Reach.
Wow definitely going next year. Looks like an amazing event, no drinking for me lol
Niceee alright thanks for the tips! Hope yall have good days, cool music too 🍀🍀🍀
"Don't look at them, look at me >:(" Your videos always make my day better 😂
I CANNOT believe that Ethan Becker, the literal top of the art community, came to Brazil of all places, and I didn't know about it. Please tell me you're coming back sometime!
I just came back here to scream TOPIA TWINSSSSS!!! 😂🔥
You've summoned me with Brazil on the thumbnail XD
I like the idea of it all, but it looks like my personal hell, talking to all those people 😂 Damn this 'tism haha. Great vid, great tips
É BRASIL PORR*AAAAAAAAA (Saudades Topia ♥)
Efan, you're my hero
What a beautiful video really
Also, thanks for sharing this with us
The last convention I attended was in 2019 since Covid broke out. I can’t tell you how much I miss being a part of a community, that enjoys the same media, art, and stories that I aspire to create.
I haven't heard of topia before but I do wish to go there as soon as it happens again
HE'S BACK
I can't belive you were here in Curitiba and I missed the oportinity to meet you!! You're awsome! I'm really happy you're liked here :)
...It's right here...in me... No, in- in- in your heart.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I can't express my love for that dude... ♥️🤣
finally, early to an ethan becker vid
mb next time instead of a music festival (which was still amazing)
I should go to Topia, similar vibes but everyone is an art nerd, what a dream!
I liked the video the moment you called me SLOW... Love you
You should come to lagos comic con in Nigeria, it's September
"You gotta get out and meet people, you have to talk with people".......
