  • hey! took me forever, but here's my ap drawing portfolio tour! I was really surprised I got a 5, but I'm very happy about it, even if I don't like my pieces.
    Also, literally everything went wrong while I tried to edit this, so so uh please forgive the quality. I'm going to change the way I make videos, because I don't have the space or the tech to edit something this complicated (you would think my very expensive ipad would be able to ;-; )
    Feel free to ask any questions about the process! ♡

    Arghhsb i found this video by looking for tips because in doing AP drawing as a sophomore and going though basically the same things that you went through, your video was very comforting and helpful in my case :))))

    Loved this portfolio and idea! I also love your style. I got a 5 this year as well, it was super stressful. I noticed you said to choose a topic that is vague but I would have to disagree. My teacher and college board past portfolio’s warn students not to choose vague or broad topics because there are so many directions you can turn to.

    • @saragreyke
      @saragreyke  Рік тому +1

      Thank you! Yeah I think it’s just finding the right middle ground, like don’t pick something too limiting but not too broad that you don’t know where to go with it.

      @@saragreyke yeah, they are very picky, it can’t be too specific and it can’t be too broad.

      Well honestly I have to disagree. I think it’s easier to be too broad with your topic. When it comes to being specific I’m sure we know when it’s absurd but really being specific will set your story straight and then only your imagination becomes the limit.

    thank u for sharing! can i ask what mediums u used for all the pieces? i heard its good for there to be variety, but it seems like u mostly used watercolors. also, do u know if its better to have varying sizes of pieces, or would it be fine for it to be relatively the same? thank you!

    • @saragreyke
      @saragreyke  Рік тому

      I haven’t heard much about variety in medium, but I think it would be good! I stuck to watercolors bc I was running low on time and it’s the easiest medium for me. I think as long as your sustained investigation was cohesive, you can explore any mediums you’d like. I also think any sizes are ok! as you can see the majority of mine are small and the same size, so it worked for me haha

    I'm so anxious for my portfolio. How long did it take you to make all of these pieces? I'm sorry, if you mentioned that in your video, I didn't hear it because right now I can't turn my volume up. Yours looks incredible, I'm very inspired!

      I restarted my whole portfolio around January, and I think I spent a few days to a week on each one. I know the last few I only spent a day on each one cause I just wanted to be done lol. Thank you so much! 💕💕

    Hey what’s the difference between ap drawing and ap art and design? I’m currently needing to decide very soon and I’m not sure which to do.

    • @saragreyke
      @saragreyke  2 місяці тому

      It’s been awhile so I don’t totally remember, but I believe drawing is graded more on your technical skill, like mark making, while art and design is more like design elements like composition, plus I believe you can incorporate other mediums like photography or collage. If you’re really skilled at drawing or painting, you should go with ap drawing, but if you just want freedom to focus on the artworks themselves, then do art and design. Definitely ask around though and do more research! I’m about to finish my sophomore year of college so I don’t super remember lol
