I found one of these beaten up on the sidewalk and saved it. Mostly has been used as a shelf for the last few years, but its a fun toy whenever i start poking at it. Watching this so maybe i can figure out how to use it a bit better
Lol! for a moment I thought my non existent imaginary door bell sounded! LOL! Some of these tones are funny. I like the keyboaed. These Blue back lit LCD based Casio keyboards really DID improve on the CT670(the original "Good" PCM Casio). There are many models that are obviously better but I at least like the improvements in sound and features. Now, I am ONLY speaking of Casio PCM tone bank keyboards, NOT classic 80s synthetic tone keyboards.. I love ALL those! But when the new 210 tonebank Casios were released in the late 80s, the way was paved for some really crappy Casio keyboards. It has been a kinda up and down, forwards then backwards adventure with them ever since. But that is only my opinion as a Casio Lover. I have played alot of them and own alot of them, good and bad.
I agree. From 1989, Casio just released different versions of the SA-1 tone bank. I think Casio's best times were from 1982 to 1988. They had so many different sounding keyboards from the CZs, the PTs, the MTs to my favorites, the SKs. I was Casio SK Strike on UA-cam recently. Never the less, can someone make a new 32 key sampling keyboard?
Hey mate i've been really struggling with this keyboard triyng to figure out how to open reverb , chorus and tone adjustment settings. When i press the function button, only the transpose opens up , also i have tried reading the manual where it tells me to press some numbers simultaneously in order to be able to open up a function i wish to open ,but none of all that works for , i've tried contacting Casio service but they too didn't turn up to tell me how this works, So i please request you to tell me how to open reverb and other tone adjustment settings Your reply will be much appreciated🙌
After pressing function, press the number "6". It acts as an arrow button while in function mode, taking you through each of the function options one by one, left to right. Pressing "4" will take you back the other way. It's NOT an easy keyboard to use!
First of all: You're highly unlikely to damage it by plugging in the wrong power adapter, so no stress there. Secondly, the cheapest/easiest way to replace the adapter is to buy a multi-voltage power adapter kit from an electronics store. It's easy to set up, they'll probably even do it for you if you take the keyboard into the store. Tell them Gearfacts sent you!
I had both… I sold the Yamaha and kept the Casio. I felt the Casio had more intuitive touch sensitivity, not to mention the pitch bend wheel and dedicated line out which the Yamaha did not have.
This is a ctk version of the wk 500 which is really neat. This keyboard looks like the ctx700 and its also probably easier to operate than ctx 700 and 800 models but at least easier than ctx 3000 and 5000 for sure. :) what do you think?
It is indeed easier to operate. Still a bit Casio-quirky but not unreachable like some aspect of the CT-X series. At the end of the day though, the CT-X has that super-charged AiX sound chip...
I own this gear. But why the fast forward ,reverse and play buttons are there ? How to to sequence a full song in it's inbuilt sequencer ? No tutorials available. It's manual is also lacking this info
Yeah press function then keep pressing number 6 repeatedly until the sustain option appears (I think that's what it is anyway, there are like 50 function options!) Anyway the trick with the function menu is that pressing 6 moves to the next option while pressing 4 takes you to the previous option.
I have this and one of the keys is messed up. A lot of resistance and it kind of sticks up from the rest of the white keys. I'm currently trying to take it apart and figure out what is wrong to try to fix it, but can't see how I'm meant to get under the keys. Has anyone tried to take one of these apart?
Yeah there's a whole second set of screws along the top of the keyboard (inside) as I recall. Kind of a plastic strip that holds the whole assembly in place. There's a lot to remove :/
@@gearfacts Thanks for your reply! I figured it out. It was just a matter of finding more and more screws to remove the top cover, some of which were hidden in deep recesses that require a long stem screwdriver to access. :) I was able to find and fix the problem too. At some point the key was smashed and the small plastic hook-shaped part of the key that prevents it from being pulled up was bent. It must have been rubbing and causing the friction. A little delicate bending and it is good as new!
I'm pretty sure both of those controls are available in the Function menu. I've made a tutorial about it, here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/LmYASc5vPEs/v-deo.html
So there's a keylighting keyboard by Casio I would like for you to review. It's the Casio LK-270. It's sort of like the CTK-5000 Except It's silver and has keylighting I'm sure u won't be disappointed if u do check it out it's quite nice in my opinion keep the amazing content coming love your channel been watching for years now!!!😁😁😁

The moment where Casio starts to get more serious in their portable keyboard family
Exactly!
hello from SINGAPORE...Gearfact i will be buying this axe this weekend....thanx for the review..i am just a beginner
Hope you enjoy it!

Very useful tutorial.

@@gearfacts Sure dear brother.
God Bless you
Gearfacts can you please make a video about the roland e 86 keyboard
Nice, but think Casio when backwards when they went to the AHL sound source from the ZPI sound source. The newer CT-X ones sound much better.
100% agree
Actually it's more from HL to AHL, but I do agree that the AiX series is doing a better job.
Hi can you tell me what settings on 0:13-0:20. It sounds beautiful and i can't find it
I can't remember exactly but it was just one of the default piano sounds. If you use headphones you get a better sense of the sound.
Hi. Love ur page. The 5000 or ctk 1550? What do u think, can get either one for £50 🕶️
Really glad that you’re enjoying the channel - if I do the same price I would definitely choose the CTK 5000. All the best!
How do I put reverb on it so it can sound like me pressing the foot key?
There is a reverb setting in the function menu
How many samples can you store on this keyboard? And what is the sampling quality?thanks
Just one sample at a time, and the quality is quite low.
How many seconds can you record your samples on this keyboard? And can the samples can be saved on the USB?
4:26 What's number is this?
Good evening sir very good video banaya tq sir 🤝💐🙏👌👍

Which synth is better: Casio CTK 5000 or Yamaha PSR 450?
This Casio seems more functional, but what about the so called realistic Yamaha sound?
The CTK has the arpeggiator which, for me, wins the competition. I think its sounds are a tiny bit better too.
@@gearfacts thx for the quick answer. I think I've just made my choice :)
