Great job giving good expert advice on these keyboards. I have CT-X700 and it sounds great. I use the registration banks to create different presets and some use layers which can have really impressive sounds for accompanying in the church band I'm in. I also have a Roland Go Keys that has somewhat more sophisticated sounds but less powerful control functions and capabilities. For example, it has no layering and also the record function does not auto repeat, at least I haven't been able to find these capabilities. Also on the CT-X700, the first available function is transpose which makes it a very fast operation if you need it.

Hey Jeremy I have been thinking about buying a M-Audio code49 or a Hammond XB2. I realize there is a very wide price difference but what would you suggest.
I'm buying the Casio or Yamaha in a day or two. Really can't decide which one to buy. Most interested in pianos and keyboards sounds and I 'think' I prefer the Yamaha grand piano over the Casio, which sounds a little too 'sharp'???? However, the Casio does have many advantages over the Yamaha generally, so might go with that one? Can you say something about the piano quality of both these. Thanks for video, sorry about those trolls!
I am a Casio Fan especially being a owner of HT series of Casio since 80s. However, I have to say Yamaha has excellent feature that I couldn't ignore when I learn to play or teach my kids to play piano. That is rewind and forward feature of song. You can quickly go back or go forward to repeat the section that you can practice. All the Yamaha even EZ series has that. But I don't see that in Casio. Perhaps there is but I don't see the dedicated button for it on Casio. Anyway, both are great keyboard.

Went with CTX-700 for $149 as all the shortcut buttons sounds better for the first keyboard for an old absolute beginner. The $50 I saved over the psr-e363 paid for several books on learning to play a keyboard. Also like that the keys on the Casio are full height similar to acoustic piano keys. Thanks for the thorough coverage of both.
You are doing a great job , thank you for great views . I can't believe people are getting bent out of shape over an opinion on an entry level keyboard. Keep it up , and don't worry about the trolls.
Hello Jeremy I wanna learn the key board and I don't know anything about a key board pls make another video about what keyboard to buy for beginners or best keyboards for kids above 9 cause I am 11
I had experienced playing on both Casio and Yamaha keyboards and I can say at any day, Casio will always win (my own opinion). Its sound quality is brighter and clearer and the keys are better. I find Yamaha keys too hard for my taste. I also find it easier to navigate on Casio's display panel and the freeze button really helps so much for a smooth transition.
Sorry, Ms. What do you mean by "too hard"? Does that mean that we need to push a little bit harder on the buttons? Actually I'd like to buy either one of those, but it's said that the CTX's buttons are harder than the PSR. Is that true? Please answer me. And excuse my bad English.
The 7 reasons: 1: Yamaha has smaller screen with non adjustable contrast and less information 2: Registration bank is more spread out and more convenient 3: Dedicated style control buttons Edit: I just stopped because I’m a beginner and didn’t even understand most of it
would something like the m audio 88 key keyboard with the addictive keys plugin from XLN audio be better than the Casio if im just looking for a good sounding piano style keyboard ? I just mostly think I need something to write melodies with so I figure more notes are helpful , also to practice singing scales that tend to go from e2 to f5 . Would a 61 key keyboard cover that range? That would be good if it was in that range but also the lower and higher keys for songwriting matter but IDK maybe I dont need the extra keys, what do you think in terms of sound quality and the extra notes? Do you find almost no songs you play ever even go to those notes? I would write so maybe I instinctively might not use them either. Thanks for any help
I love that your explanations are simple to understand and concise. I have about 4 Yamaha personal (low end) keyboards Would love to ditch them all for a good Casio. Or a Roland One day...
Jeremy let me correct the finger-on-bass function in the Casio CTX-700.You can do it in the Yamaha PSR E 363 (just only Major chords) press the key that you Want to be played. Then just press the third or the second note in the chord on the lower octave (although you can adjust the split point if you want. Totally a encouraging video that either the Casio or Yamaha keyboard will you buy. A great video.
+George Yuan Laurente Thanks for watching. The bass-on-chord function has also been pointed out by another subscriber Vinciata. However, in my opnion it is not very practical due to 2 reasons:- 1. player has to play 4 notes. Most users of entry level keyboards are beginning learners and will not have the finger dexterity to accurately change 4 notes octave spanning chords. 2. To even play basic chords in C major key such as F/A or C/G or G/B requires a change of default split point and reduces the range of notes below middle C. This method is best used on EW300 which has 76 keys and players cam play chords 1 octave lower. This function can easily implemenged by Yamaha via software. Its a pity Yamaha decided to strip off quite a few of important features a learning student will find useful.
The main problem with the Casio CT-X700 are the speaker volumes. They are extremely low and I had to buy a PA system which increased my budget almost double. The Yamaha PSR-E363 speakers are twice as loud.
I followed ur video and I purchased Casio CtX 9000 it is really a superb arranger keyboard, most of my friends r using Yamaha even they recommended me Yamaha bt I purchased Casio im really by Casio CtX.. TQ for ur video
Hey I just subscribed and I'm looking to pick up a keyboard soon so I have a few more videos to watch before I make a decision. So far I still have my eye on the Yamaha PSR-E-363 but the package you have made for that keyboard is not available in Canada so I will have to purchase everything separately. Love the videos so far and thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience!
Long story short, I inched my way up from the Yamaha PSR-E-363 to the Korg EK-50. Any recommendations on stands and pedals? There are a lot to choose from but what would you recommend? Make a video if you can, I am sure there are nuances that a newbie like me may want to know. I have my eye on a Z-Style stand but it's expensive. What are the positives and negatives to x and z stands? Also can you do a pedal recommendation video? The Korg EK-50 looks like it has a regular 3.5mm jack for headphones which is cool.
Jeremy, let me correct the registration memory setting on the PSRE363. If you press the regist button, and press the number buttons ex.1, if you shift for the second regist, just press the number buttons.
George, this only works assuming you don't press a fill before moving to the next registration. And it is only active for a while before it jumps out of registration memory mode.
I usually use lots of preset styles/rhythm with all keyboard brands. hehehe. I don't like Yamaha entry level keyboards for my everyday use. I don't like that keys... But only with Casio CT-X700 (the entry level) I can express my music and my musical needs more expressive. The keys are very responsive. The sounds made me feel like pro! I don't hate Yamaha because I love their other products.

@@JeremySee I found a Yamaha ew 300 Pawn shop want's $100 is this a good deal. I do not buying used used electronics. Keyboard looks to be in fair cond. , seems to work.
Where do you buy a yamaha piano?
What is the sound different in casico CTX 870 IN & yamaha psr e463 particular in indian tone & rytham .
Who is best in tone sound .
Great choice. Have fun!
Good n honest review God bless you bro
Do both of these units come with a "music rest" for sheet music or your tablet to lean against?
Yes. It's standard these days
@@JeremySee Thank you!
You are doing a great job , thank you for great views . I can't believe people are getting bent out of shape over an opinion on an entry level keyboard. Keep it up , and don't worry about the trolls.
Ctx 700 or Revas kb330 for beginners?
She wanted to say yamaha has semiwieghted keys
The PSR e363 piano sounds so much better, though. And the build quality as well. I have a PSR E303 that I bought in 2007 and it still works!
Ctx 800 or psr e373?
The 7 reasons:
1: Yamaha has smaller screen with non adjustable contrast and less information
2: Registration bank is more spread out and more convenient
3: Dedicated style control buttons
Edit: I just stopped because I’m a beginner and didn’t even understand most of it
would something like the m audio 88 key keyboard with the addictive keys plugin from XLN audio be better than the Casio if im just looking for a good sounding piano style keyboard ? I just mostly think I need something to write melodies with so I figure more notes are helpful , also to practice singing scales that tend to go from e2 to f5 . Would a 61 key keyboard cover that range?
That would be good if it was in that range but also the lower and higher keys for songwriting matter but IDK maybe I dont need the extra keys, what do you think in terms of sound quality and the extra notes? Do you find almost no songs you play ever even go to those notes? I would write so maybe I instinctively might not use them either.
Thanks for any help
If i were to choose between the two based on touch sensitivity alone, which would you recommend?
I would recommend the 363
thanks. that's the impression i'm getting.
I love that your explanations are simple to understand and concise. I have about 4 Yamaha personal (low end) keyboards
Would love to ditch them all for a good Casio. Or a Roland
One day...
is casio have better accoustic sound than yamaha?
Thanks for the video. Helps me a lot to buy between the two. :)
However, in my opnion it is not very practical due to 2 reasons:-
1. player has to play 4 notes.
I pity you for the ******* trolls.
Makes me want to just shut down the channel. 😥
Jeremy See they just want to embarrass you by unlikes.
I'm happy to be of help, buddy. Have fun!
WHICH KEYBOARD WOULD YOU RECOMMEND BETWEEN YAMAHA PSR E453 AND yamaha ypg 535?
The better and newer one.
Christopher Budi Santoso
Agree with you, sir :)
