USS Constellation would be an interesting one to see following the Tiger '59. I can't recall the last time I saw her in a battle.
It's a great ship, you just get punished harder for mistakes. But you bounce anything and your sides shatter a lot of HE, plus accurate guns. At worst just kite and pray your stern won't catch anything and delete you lmao

@@TheShinySearcher "Bounce anything" is a huge stretch. It's cruiser armor... 27mm bow/stern armor gets overmatched by most bb guns and the citadel isn't well protected at all. That's why it's an unpopular ship played mostly by people who don't understand armor and overmatch mechanics.
@@LaunchpadGP have you actually played her? If you're bow tanking you're in a horribly bad position and are going to die anyways. She's not a Russian ship; that's one of those 'mistakes' you get punished hard for, which I mentioned.
Yes, the citadel is poorly protected, but its also underwater, you're more likely to get chunked by pen damage from the thin belt and big hull than citadeled.
The stern is the only part that is truly weak, because theres a nice big flat plate that eats shots from any angle, plus the overmatch. That isn't as big a problem with the nose because the massive 51mm sides; people are baited into going for the citadel. Just turn out and bounce. From experience it works very well.
@@TheShinySearcher yes I have it and it's fun to take out every now and then. But I think most players would agree the criteria for "bounces anything" is a fair bit higher than "bounces shells when perfectly angled, the enemy is a potato who doesn't know your armor scheme, and RNG doesn't send shells into your shell catcher." In randoms it is especially rough when bottom tier relative to its other tier 8 peers.
I think it would be really cool if you featured Fenyang in the next video. I think it is one of the ships I see played the least.

I used Fenyang a lot. It's a workable ship. Not as strong as Akizuki buy the guns are miles better than most DD and iirc she got DFAA too
It might be actually better as bottom tier because you aren't taking a top tier slot with a zdps ship. You're pure support, which is pretty tier-agnostic, so being bottom tier means you're dragging in an *enemy* bottom tier to be bullied, but can hopefully contribute yourself by staying safe and providing support. But when you're top tier, you need to be able to provide damage and tiger '59 can't.
Afraid not. She's decent in ranked due to her utility, but pretty bad otherwise.
9km radar is not enough when it doesn't have DPM, has floaty shells and doesn't have hydro.
Most Tiger games you are left with a choice. Try to contribute and explode quickly or sit back and do barely anything all game.
It needs several buffs to be properly viable: HE, better ballistics, long radar range, hydro, faster fire rate, Dutch airstrikes, remove the citadel, etc.
It doesn't need all of those, but they're ideas on how WG could make the ship work.

I feel like Tiger would be fine (ish) if it had HE. It's utility is great; smoke and radar are a powerful combo. I think of it as the UK CL's on super-hard mode, and also it's such a mem ship I don't play it too seriously. I try to win of course, but I expect to do little damage, not kill anything and get dev struck, so anything above that is a bonus.

HE and maybe a reload booster or burst fire, or just a faster base reload. Giving it improved velocity and dispersion maybe too because its two tiers lower than Minotaur but has less than half the firepower lol (actually way less than half since it doesn't get torps either)
I'd like to see Neustrashimmy. Very expensive and not common ship. I'm interested in buying this dd but vids about her are like 2 years old.

Agir used to be pretty strong before they removed the option to build into secondaries, but now since we can spec into them again let’s see those German secondaries on this battle cruiser

Secondary Agir is basically useless and a waste of your teams time. At 8km secondary range, Napoli's dispersion 198m, Cherbourg-Brest-Marseille's is 294m and Seigfried and Agir get standard cruiser dispersion of 486m. Long story short, Napoli's secondaries are about 60% more accurate that Agir.
Illinois with reload mod, running a furious reload boosted build (throw in halsey can get like sub 5 second reload) also use improved repair since you need it with all the fires you want
15:10 Don't blame it all on being a youtuber, you are a big floating citadel 6.5km away, shooting all the time (which makes it easy to blindfire). I often see a streamer/youtuber blaming on streamsniping or popularity, and many times they are just an easy target (or the only one spotted) or they are playing some spammer that everyone wants to get rid of
pretty sure it was a streamsnipping case there however. The shokaku was lighted and in range. Makes no sense to blindfire smoke a tiger59, especially knowing it has no torps. Seems fishy af.

Watching you play good ships is predictable and somewhat entertaining. Watching you play bad ships is totally fun. Anytime the game gets boring, this is the kinda stuff you need. Fun challenges like taking out Graf Zeppelin and NOT using the planes (aside from maybe a lil bit of spotting here n there) - just going full secondary build and try to go shoot some stuff.

As long as we're on the topic of undiscovered Massachusetts clones- the Tier V Oklahoma is a very underrated secondary battleship.
for maximum pain, you should try the FR25,
French DD, Italian SAP, but no MBT, no smoke and crap dpm
It's an ITA DD and it has full speed exhaust smoke, torps are buffed from 6 to 7 km about 4 months ago. Her Alpha damage is quite high against broadside targets especially. I mostly go with the other DD to help him with the enemy DD and later on try to use the crawling smoke to finish 60% or less HP BBs (or cruisers). Not enough torps to sink a full HP BB. She's fun to play imo and has OK stats (unless against T9), she's not for beginning DD players though.
i was in that enemy Marceau on the third game, took a torpedo from the Z-52 early on and could'nt do much but watch our A flank colapse slowly lol . i was looking foward to battle with you man, but i guess thats up for a future video. Anyways, cheers and keep them coming!

As a BB main I think the Mass went at you in the smoke since everyone knows the ship is made of citadels that blows up if someone even looks at it.

How about trying USS Rochester? It's a fairly neat cruiser with some good AA for the tier.
Yes it’s a nicer Anchorage without the torps but easier to play imho.

@@SebaX92 Ye, but the Rochester is not using the Anchorage hull, is it? I thought it is on the Balti hull.
@@AnujeetRoy09 it's not really Balti hull. Both Rochester and Tulsa on T9 are Oregon City class. It's like comparing Chapayev to Kutuzov. It's improved Baltimore, with better fire angles. Also Rochester has way better AA, comparable to Des Moines.

Tiger could use one of two buffs - first option, give it HE shells and/or replace AP with SAP (it had HE in real life AFAIK but I'm no warship expert so I could be wrong); second option, remove the upgrade slot 5, leave everything else as is, and move Tiger to Tier 7. As an additional buff, increase its AA efficiency so it becomes unappealing at best for planes to go after (and a no-fly zone when Defensive AA Fire is active).
That aside, this is a weird ship because farming damage is not its goal. If you have competent DD friends (or just do a Tiger + 2 DD division so you're guaranteed trustworthy teammates) you can support every cap with ease, but you cannot win any fight unless you're supporting friendlies - in a 1v1 either the opponent is massively inferior, or he's disconnected and cannot react, or he plays extremely poorly, or Tiger will lose every single time.

I wanna see you try Duca D'aosta. T6 premium Italian cruiser. Its very fast and AP can punch other cruisers pretty well but... thats where the positives end IMO, I feel like this ship just needs a small buff to make it a viable choice but as it is rn it lacks a bit of a punch on HE shells... but Im not good so hey maybe you can make it work
Its weird how weegee balance can work. Duca on legends is a menace with the sap shells. Dds and cruisers are just food to it
@@stotgunvsface5092 it has AP and HE on PC. From my experience AP can slap other cruisers really hard but HE is kinda bad against BBs cause of meh penetration and bad fire chance but IDK maybe I'm using the ship wrong

The Brits removed the torps from the real Tiger to lower the cost and weight of the ship. It was slow anyway at 30 knt, compared to older light cruisers that could go 32+ knt.

Cruisers - Strong against battleships, as they have large HP to DPS; weak against carriers and subs as they cannot interact with them
Destroyers - Strong against battleships as they are large slow targets for torpedoes; Weak against carriers and subs as they cannot interact with them
Subs - strong against battleships as they are big and slow against torpedoes; Weak against player enjoyment as they are invisible
Mostly true but slightly outdated.
1) The strongest destroyers are the gunboats not the torpedo boats, especially with so much hydro nowadays. Even some cruiser lines are out-torping the DDs. Still strong against BBs though, especially if you can open-water gunboat and dodge well.
2) Carriers in general do farm BBs. But the amount of HP% they can take from cruisers and destroyers can be devastating. Also carriers accidentally spotting destroyers as they fly over to strike the battleships is just ridiculous sometimes. You can single handedly ruin a destroyer's game just by spotting it and not even striking it.
3) Cruisers are varied. There is a lot of overmatch on battleships that also outspot cruisers nowadays. Sub homing on cruisers is tight, ASW is poor, and you also get periscope spotted and can't spot them back even with radar. Most cruisers that need to get close are rough. But if you are just HE farming from the edge of the map then that's irrelevant.
4) Battleship RNG is sad a lot of times. But if you hit, you do smash your target (at least at TX with all the overmatch). These days, battleships definitely lean towards dealing damage over tanking, as you basically get farmed so quickly nowadays.
HI Potato, love your videos! Great work man. I was "lucky" this Xmas by getting some nice ships! Collingwood, Tiger59 and Dalian. I have just seen your Tiger59 and Collingwood video's and i got myself some port queens (not going to sell them because with my luck i'd get them again) but what about Dalian? Couldn't find a video? Maybe because it's that bad too? Would mean i have to be happy with my love life because it's not happening with ships. So, please, maybe a one take with Dalian?

Tiger 59 is god tier in Operations. PQ has BB main tendencies. Shoot less and at closer and more opportune targets. Surprise, not volume, is the key. Those guns wreck things inside 8km. Support ship, so roll with someone. Utility is everything.

I'd like to see Druid myself. I have been in some games with an obviously good player in one and the amount of hits and damage they did was insane. Wondering if you could pull out similar with your advanced knowledge of armours and target choices etc. BTW incredible game given the attrocity you had to use. Glad I wasn't on of those meanies who made you suffer, Ahmmmm ;~) Honest

Tiger '59 was one of the two ships i ever got from super containers and I'm still bitter about it to this day.
They should buff this thing by just making it tier VII with identical stats.
Tiger can mess you up if it catches you the right way. it's a strange ship, had some great matches in it when the planets align.

JAJAS HELPING CARRY ANOTHER GAME, LETS GOOOOOOOO.
Honestly, this is one of my favourite ships in the game (and no, im not saying that to be 'special and different') heres a few reasons why:
1. Most people know how anemic its DPM is and as long as a more strategically important ship is visible and able to be shot at, more often than not the enemies will ignore you.
2. Although it has pretty weak AA by most CL standards, she has some of the longest range AA meaning you have more time to shoot down incoming planes with either a flak burst or (in the case of a T6 CV) with just pure continuous damage.
3. Having the improved angle, short fuze AP means youre a menace to DDs and your above or on-par stealth helps you get into a decent position realtively close to caps and allows you to support friendly DDs easier.
4. Smoke + Radar, although its a lot more common today, is still a really useful combo for supporting your team and disengaging if you need to.
5. If you like to suffer damage wise in WoWs this ship is PERFECT for it.
Let's continue the pain train with a six gun BB like Shikishima

Playing on Tiger ‘59 and doing good on it is the biggest mark of expertise that you are good on this game because of the sheer challenge it requires
Tiger ‘59 is stronger at the beginning of the game and the longer it goes the weaker it becomes
Having said all that, Atago is still the better premium
if they buffed the ship a little bit, it would be fine.
give it slightly better citadel heal
give it the reload of minotaur fully spec'd but stock
slightly better range
slightly better shell velocity
smoke and radar together (if it already has it, forgive me, it's been a while since I've played the ship)

WG could make this a lot more attractive by giving this SAP and sub surveillance with longer range ASW planes.

She is not that bad IMHO. That 25mm plating lets you bounce some shells a Minotaur would eat. Yes, she has not the highest DPM but can do work. Especially with a team.
