You could do the shared save "co-op" mode in ACC - I did a couple 24 hour Spa races with a friend sending the save file back and forth. You could also do "continue from replay" in rF2, so theoretically you could do the same thing there, although I didn't try that.
Really insightful, thanks for the video guys, looking forward to future progress with the game. Seems there's lots of potential, hopefully it's realised
I hope this game does well. I am a casual and normally only practice and race online. So I am excited to see what they do with the subscription service.
I absolutely love Le Mans Ultimate as an experience. I haven't experienced any major discouraging problems since its launch. For me it's mostly the lack of features, that are slowly coming online with each build. It's definitely a bit of a gamble going in on any early access game as development teams sometimes stagnate or fold altogether. The Motorsports Games debacle added a bit of skepticism on a purchase, but to see the development team step up with videos explaining their goals and such a comprehensive survey gives me confidence that 397 isn't about to let that bad press change their vision. I can't say that this will be the next Iracing, but I do see a bright future for this sim as long as the communication keeps flowing and that 397 continues to deliver as promised. I can say that for me, even in early access, it has been a better launch that WRC23 (which has improved but was broken in a lot of ways at launch). I think more development teams have stopped using Publisher goals as the metric in which to launch their product. They are not aiming for launches that coincide with the current season or other marketing goals. These dev teams truly want to build a simulation to be proud of. I would rather, within reason, piecemeal this sim as it grows than repeatedly pay $60 for a seasonal dumpster fire. I will continue to support LMU as long as the team continues to show us support for LMU.
I don't have a problem throwing these guys $13 for some new content. I would rather do that to a small company then a bigger conglomerate like EA. I would not be surprised if they expanded to ELMS and ALMS series.
I played for a few hours back on the last update, and I really think it's going to be great, but I'm frustrated too. It's clearly an unfinished game, so they should NOT be releasing paid DLC yet. It feels like we are paying for puzzle pieces to complete the game, and DLC shouldn't be that way. They need to finish the game, make it complete with all the current tracks and cars, release the game at full retail price with all the content. Then later on down the road add DLC packs for players that want more. DLC should be EXTRA content like classic tracks and cars, maybe even some what-if future stuff from companies that aren't in WEC (yet).
And this is the thing, we know this is likely to launch around LeMans 2025. So they're clearly going to have to bundle the current season pass because surely they're not going to be stood there at Le Mans 2025 launching a game that, without DLC, won't have GT3.
Honestly coming from 20+ years of sim racing i would donate a lot of money to see this project pan out. The coop mode is a brilliant idea, I just hope it don't turn out like rfactor. I don't hate iracing but i'm kinda sick of it, was beta testing iracing wayyyyy back in 08 i just want new sim racing games, good ones. I have not been this excited about a sim since gtr2. They need a donate button, what's a couple hundred bucks compared to our rigs or hell even just my pedals or 1000s in iracing content..
IMSA in LMU... While it would be a welcome addition in my opinion, i don't think it will be added to LMU. But the European Le Mans Series, and the Asian Le Mans Series could be added and fit perfectly to the theme of the sim, as well as the American Le Mans Series as historic content.
@@TraxionGG - You would think they'd be very happy with that situation as it would grow the user base, expand the track list, be a natural replacement for ACC but at the same time no detriment to WEC.
76 euros for base game and season pass, season pass that includes content that should have been in the base game since the beginning or added later for free is wild.
Am I the only one who finds the tyre physics in LMU hyper-sensitive? Like driving on ice all the time, even in a GTE with warmed up tyres? E.g. the Aston Martin doesn't feel like a 2-tonne car with a big wing on the back -at all-.
I would generally agree that S397/MSG has a weird way of doing things. They also have a track record of not completing titles very well. I will say that I think LMU is on a good path, but they need to be vigilant making sure they get as much in the game by the end of 2024 as possible. VR works really well in the beta state. Its obvious they just got the menus working well enough to implement the rF2 type support.
I'm looking forward to playing this so much, but I just don't want to play on flat panel. Forgetting the UI stuff, the game just looked absolutely trash in my 8KX last time I tried it without AA. Will check it out again today because I want to love LMU
I felt for a while now that the pre-releases and betas shouldn't be given over for public reviews, but it seems every company is doing that nowadays. Is it for hype or for gaining feedback? But regardless, this was an expertly done review John, as always!
6:26 I was wondering where Isotta Fraschini have been the past two WEC races and now I know! Hopefully they come back next year, who doesn't love an underdog story after all? That aside, I really hope this game turns out to be good. 🤞 If LMU is the real deal and it comes to console I think I will finally get a PS5. Besides the EA WRC game I've had almost zero interest in getting a PS5 thus far but LMU might sway me if it delivers!
Great video and well summarised. Very good core driving experience but so many things missing and questionable at best. The constant DLC and minimal base content for an early access game is seriously suspect. And the lack of a championship mode for the world endurance championship game is again baffling.
Gotta say I was absolutely willing to buy cota til I realized it was $14. I mean it’s literally my home track, and my favorite track. But man I already bought a decently expensive game, I’m not trying to buy dlc’s. Like your gt7 point is exactly what I mean. As a gt7 player not a single update costs a cent because you bought the game up front Still gonna definitely try out the new vr though and see how it feels
I think the game is great so far. You don't have to pay for the season pass u can get the content u want and it's still gonna be cheaper than iracings predatory model. As good as iracings is I think it's ludicrous what they charge. Not even free lobbies on that
Thanks for raising the DLC on early access issue. It is still in beta but hey let’s charge for DLC! I think they have pounced on the significant early uptake and all of this dlc was part of the initial full release which they have chosen to add as dlc. The way this is going it is quickly turning into an iracing pricing model. It is a ripper simulator (absolutely love it) but I am very concerned that there are dollar signs in the developer’s eyes!,
While asynchronous co-op is an interesting concept, it’s a really odd thing to prioritize when so many critical features are missing. Of course, by selling a bunch DLC for a game that’s nowhere close to done, the whole thing feels a little off
There's players available from acc atm, the community is getting kind of bored over there. I bought LMU, and i see the potential. The problem is that AC evo is coming out soon. Idk if this game has the playerbase support behind it to challenge it. The number of available simracers is still pretty low, even with the popularity that the scene has gained over the last 5 years. Theres so many people in iracing, and they are not moving anywhere else no matter what comes out.
All they needed to do to make this game a success is say "we have taken the bugs out of RF2 and used that as a basis for a WEC simulator." Unfortunately bug removal doesnt seem to be on their list of things to do.
It's got everything from the 2023 WEC season in as base, with the exception of the Nascar they appear to have forgotten existed. If that's enough for you, no.
I do hope they will give us legacy content for free, for example the porsche 919 era against Toyota. Or maybe go back even further with the group c cars like the sauber Mercedes and the Mazda 787B. It makes sense because this isn't Le Mans 2024, its Le Mans Ultimate so they should include the ultimate Le Mans grid
not for free lol, but historic stuff that was in the WEC in past years, like the audi r18, peugeot 908, and 919 would be nice. go even further back to the group c/GTP era as well
@chrisracing81 not at all, only 7 tracks and 13 cars. Whilst other sims have much much more except for Rennsport, takes Automobolista 2, cheaper and has way more content, iRacing as well, has a lot more free content Whilst being cheaper if you only pay for the membership. You just have to acknowledge that this sim doesn't have enough content, so I'm just saying that they should add more free content to be able to justify the new price of 30$ also still being in early access
I totally understand that development costs of a game like this, with these new cool features, are probably through the roof already. But, from a customer’s point of view, I think that they’re asking too much for an unfinished game / demo / early access or whatever they call it. This is a game and a dev team officially supported by the WEC (and probably FIA as well)…and I think that they should invest more, and ask us less. That is until the game is not sorted out..I mean, by playing, we’re beta testing for them. Asking a full game price for helping them out with development seems a bit of strech.
Tbh this game has a lot of issues, but the things that keep me coming back is my lover for endurance races and the prototypes, as well as the exceptionally beautiful handling model which is a thrill, also the promise of a good vr support
can someone help me i installed the game but even if i play at max graphics and 1080p it looks like 144k and the graphics look like ultralow and the game just randoimly crashes i have an rtx 4070 idk whats wrong with the game
Early access is a strange term really. As iRacing is constantly updating and evolving and is nothing like the original "game" that came out. Is that early access? only recently got offline Ai and certain track and car combos and you have to pay a fortune for each bit of content and monthly as well. Don't get me wrong it is different with this one and I've not myself purchased it yet. But early access is such a broad term and not all early access things can be compared
Some awesome features here but their development model is kind of ridiculous. It's been quite some time and the most basic day 1 features are still missing from this. No championship, no GT3s, no practice with your friends. Classic Motorsport Games incompetence.
i love le mans ultimate. not thrilled about cordoning off the player base into ever smaller cohorts. but, as limited as the base content is, it does cover the entire 2023 WEC grid and calendar. I think the base game is content complete for $30.00 and kind of a good deal content wise. which is all to say the DLC model isn't offensive to me as a consumer. on reddit simply saying you enjoy the game and think you're getting your money's worth gets you branded a shill or an MSG bootlicker 😂 i think people are right to be skeptical but at this point you can put the pitchforks down.
The update is a disaster. Introduced Stuttering 3 times a lap the game is stuck half a second, both borderless and full screen, this never happend before. It introduces changes to Race Week End and now it takes 5minutes to setup a session, it doesn't retain temperatures, track rubber, all the circuit folders are duplicated, all the cars, the same cars, don't find and recognize the previous setups. Now there are duplicated track folders, what is it that championship thing, why on hell in ACC there's Practice and it takes me 10sec to be in a session? I practice a track per week, I don't need to go through a nightmare each time. What a total and absolute marketing disaster with programmer that have no idea what they're doing. Do you guys want to loose all the setups? To copy them manually into duplicated folders of the same track because now the track are doubled? Do you want a Ferrari 499P yellow to be a different car than a Ferrari 499P Red? I'm off this game....
Helo good sir. I have a question. I like my t300 very much but there is one thing that kills the fun. I Play PS5 GT7 and i cant set the degrees on steering wheel it always gets reseted by the game. That's not much of a problem because you can set the controller sensitivity in the game. What problem is for me is that when i turn max to left or right there is no telling if i overturned to deadzone say if car has 180° and i turn the wheel 270° there is no stoper to say you reached steering limit. Is that the same with this new dd wheel base? If yes then that's a huge deal breaker for me. Can you make a video on this. Thanks
Hi there! Definitely not, there are all sorts of options with the majority of direct drive bases to change how the rotation works. You can set your own hard-stops in the software that match the rotation of the wheel, or it can be left to the game you are playing. I can actually point you towards a video that would help show this! It's a video I (John) did on the Race Anywhere UA-cam channel earlier this year, in this video I was using Simagic but the same sort of options will be available with most direct drive bases :) Here is the video - ua-cam.com/video/zG_WMMJfOy8/v-deo.htmlsi=_AoM-UgTrDezJbA4
A £40 season pass for an early access game that only has 7 tracks and a handfull of cars to begin with. Game looks and apparently drives great. But this monetization scheme along with it being during early access and it still being buggy as hell...it'll be on its last legs by next year unfortunately. Hopefully AC evo gives us a better package.
The ability to create a private server like on ACC at least is mandatory. I don't see this Coop mode being fun. I mean, the fun thing is to run WITH your friends live !!
It feels like the end user is paying for their bankrupcy or whatever happened last year. It's in an embrionary state while asking for fully developed game state DLC's. The season pass is for added things but if they call it LMU it should start with the full calendar with the complete pack of cars. Imagine F124 being sold as DLC as the season goes. The product is good on track. Anywhere else, not so much.
The DLC discussion all over again... for 30 bucks in the early access they have always only granted you 2023 content. Till now there are servers running for free and the subscription will be optional. iRacings subscription alone would have cost me more in the last 8 months and I would have not driven one lmp2, gte or hypercar.
@@kevinhadj82 Static flags? I don't get what you mean. By the way, I'd like to give this sim a go for €30, hoping for future updates and bug fixes, I'm not bothered to pay for a season pass at the moment because I don't care.
Paid DLC in early access is kinda stupid honestly because not only are you forcing people to buy the game you have to get the DLC or season pass which almost double the price of the game and it is still in EA. it will kill the game in the long run
The problem with having IMSA is that the license to that series is not owned by motorsport games, but iracing, hence the influx of hypercars being added to that game. I think it's more likely that they would release historic seasons/ variations of tracks with some older cars, or do the feeder series (ELMS, ALMS, etc) featuring the tracks and liveries. I personally think that all content released in early access should be free, past the price of the game itself, as early access should be a time for preparing a game for launch, by filling it with free, quality content so then you can entice more people to buy your dlcs post launch, as they are aware of the quality and want to buy into that. By having nearly half the tracks in the game at release locked behind a £30-£50 pay wall (it's going to increase with more dlcs they release), it could turn a lot of potential customers away. But other than that, the game looks fab, and I hope they do the full PC launch alongside console!
Refunded this game. Way too expensive given the current performance. It took minutes to load a race, and was practically unplayable on my 3070. I think Steam registered around an hour of playtime and only 5 of that was actually racing, the rest was loading and multiple crashes. I can't comment on the actual racing but a very disappointing experience. Not to mention the DLC... Needs another year of cooking IMO
I really want to buy this game but the fact it's early access with shallow content to begin with & they're already nickel & diming us for more content just leaves a nasty taste in my mouth.
@@phase_1471 Exactly! It's left me wondering what the 1.0 base game will cost & the initial content will be. AMS2 will keep me going & I'll be all over AC EVO too
I like LMU but the DLCs are not worth it. IMOLA never shows up online and absolutely no one wants to race COTA ever. I have a feeling the game dies when they launch their subscription service. The game has 4 tracks that anyone wants to use.
First: input behaviour. What happens when you save when wheel is turned 90 deg. left and load while holding 90deg. right? This could be somewhat mitigated by smoothing the difference but still... is silly. And second thing... that's a "rewind" from GRID with extra steps. This has no place in a sim.
you forgot to mention crashes with all three classes selected on lemans track, lowering graphic settings and/ or resoultion does nothing. Horrible performing sim must be the 2005 game engine.................... uninstalled.
WEC ACO want 2024 season in 2024 maybe? And game is stable for me and i enjoy it since day 1. And pls u know how sims dev work nowdays, ACC, Rennsport all start by EA , and i prefer dev team listen who community for game évolution than a ’New game’ each year at 80€ like F1/WRC or 15€ + sub for 1 track in Iracing 😊
Thats extremely narrowminded holy. They're a brand new, boutique team. They had very inexperienced drivers, but the car was reliable. If they had drivers at the level of Toyota or Porsche, they wouldve been 1-2% faster per lap, which would put them in the top 10. Setups were rarely changed as they prioritized making the rookie drivers comfortable in the car.
As long as Vanwall/ByKolles existed, Isotta wasn't a failure. They finished LeMans on their first try for instance. Look up how the ByKolles team did in about 10 attempts.

Cheers Piers - your in-game lap times are always helpful!
Great update review 👍🏻 I like the co-op mode.
I hope this game does well. I am a casual and normally only practice and race online. So I am excited to see what they do with the subscription service.
All we have now will stay free, so daily, weekly/special events
I think even in early acces this is the most exciting sim for me out there. What you get for the eatly acces price is pretty good.
Would be awesome to see!

When is lemans ultimate coming to console? ❤❤❤
IMSA in LMU... While it would be a welcome addition in my opinion, i don't think it will be added to LMU. But the European Le Mans Series, and the Asian Le Mans Series could be added and fit perfectly to the theme of the sim, as well as the American Le Mans Series as historic content.
LMU is great so far, love the graphics, sound and physics. Hope it will get big 👍
Glad you are enjoying it :)
Surely with the ACC cycle coming to an end & LMU already on track to have all the current GT3 cars soon the GTWC licence is a possibility?
Good thinking ,who knows! But would the World Endurance Championship want this to be a separate game if something like this did happen?
@@TraxionGG - You would think they'd be very happy with that situation as it would grow the user base, expand the track list, be a natural replacement for ACC but at the same time no detriment to WEC.
76 euros for base game and season pass, season pass that includes content that should have been in the base game since the beginning or added later for free is wild.
Am I the only one who finds the tyre physics in LMU hyper-sensitive? Like driving on ice all the time, even in a GTE with warmed up tyres? E.g. the Aston Martin doesn't feel like a 2-tonne car with a big wing on the back -at all-.
I just wish it would stop freezing crashing so often. Less crashes > more features, IMO...
LMU is one of the best looking racing sims to me
I felt for a while now that the pre-releases and betas shouldn't be given over for public reviews, but it seems every company is doing that nowadays.
As a gt7 player not a single update costs a cent because you bought the game up front
Still gonna definitely try out the new vr though and see how it feels
It will certainly split opinions!
This sim has so much potential, I hope they don’t waste it
I think the game is great so far. You don't have to pay for the season pass u can get the content u want and it's still gonna be cheaper than iracings predatory model. As good as iracings is I think it's ludicrous what they charge. Not even free lobbies on that
Coop mode is properly broken, can't believe it's this bad
no, you are broken
DLC for an early access game is just par for the course in 2024
Thanks for raising the DLC on early access issue. It is still in beta but hey let’s charge for DLC! I think they have pounced on the significant early uptake and all of this dlc was part of the initial full release which they have chosen to add as dlc. The way this is going it is quickly turning into an iracing pricing model. It is a ripper simulator (absolutely love it) but I am very concerned that there are dollar signs in the developer’s eyes!,
It's certainly something to monitor over the coming months!
It is me, or the Isotta Fraschini steering wheel is a tiny bit tilted to the left?, not centered 😞
not imsa more like ELMS and ALMS are the support series for WEC
Have to make the money while the money is still available and still has value.
Isotta beating a 963
A pipe dream we all have, no matter who you’re favorite manufacturer is
Game is good but how in 2024 I’m not able to have private practice with friends it’s crazy
This feature will come to LMU later
if you join the same online practice server you can practice with your best friends all day long
now vr work online?
Can i find your FFB settings somewhere with the Fanatec DD?
While asynchronous co-op is an interesting concept, it’s a really odd thing to prioritize when so many critical features are missing.
Of course, by selling a bunch DLC for a game that’s nowhere close to done, the whole thing feels a little off
"I think" he said, but mentions a feature no one has seen before...even though gran Turismo had it years ago.
All they needed to do to make this game a success is say "we have taken the bugs out of RF2 and used that as a basis for a WEC simulator." Unfortunately bug removal doesnt seem to be on their list of things to do.
can you list the bugs of rFactor2?
Isnt there a championship with this new DLC? I saw that on the trailer for this DLC. Unless im wrong
the paid subscription service?
Am I going to be dissapointed if I buy the game and don't buy the DLC?
It's got everything from the 2023 WEC season in as base, with the exception of the Nascar they appear to have forgotten existed. If that's enough for you, no.
I do hope they will give us legacy content for free, for example the porsche 919 era against Toyota. Or maybe go back even further with the group c cars like the sauber Mercedes and the Mazda 787B. It makes sense because this isn't Le Mans 2024, its Le Mans Ultimate so they should include the ultimate Le Mans grid
not for free lol, but historic stuff that was in the WEC in past years, like the audi r18, peugeot 908, and 919 would be nice. go even further back to the group c/GTP era as well
You will have content for free?
Yeah, they will work for you without getting paid, for sure 😅🤷♂️
@@chrisracing81 not everything i mean, I'm saying some of the new content should be free because the base game doesn't have much free content
@@V-Racing it has much content for 30 bucks i think.
Not the update i waited...
Tbh this game has a lot of issues, but the things that keep me coming back is my lover for endurance races and the prototypes, as well as the exceptionally beautiful handling model which is a thrill, also the promise of a good vr support
great video as always! 😈😈
i tried to join an online lobby in vr it didnt work.
can someone help me i installed the game but even if i play at max graphics and 1080p it looks like 144k and the graphics look like ultralow and the game just randoimly crashes i have an rtx 4070 idk whats wrong with the game
Huh? It’s early acces and your points will come to the game, they are just not yet there
"Day 1" was the 2023 season, which did not include GT3 class cars. 2024 season was always going to be future DLC.
i love le mans ultimate. not thrilled about cordoning off the player base into ever smaller cohorts. but, as limited as the base content is, it does cover the entire 2023 WEC grid and calendar. I think the base game is content complete for $30.00 and kind of a good deal content wise. which is all to say the DLC model isn't offensive to me as a consumer. on reddit simply saying you enjoy the game and think you're getting your money's worth gets you branded a shill or an MSG bootlicker 😂 i think people are right to be skeptical but at this point you can put the pitchforks down.
if only they were fixing bugs that were there from day 1 as quickly as they release paid DLC, ppl would probably not complain as much
iRacing is expensive streetracer, LMU is pure racing
So i guess rFactor2 with more categories etc is way better?
are you sure cota is paid dlc? its not on the store page and im sure they said it was free?
it's paid. DLC pack 2. 11.99 euro
Is le man ultimate worth buying ?
what do you play with? as a pure high skilled simracer, i have it since day one

I'm off this game....
same here... micro stuttering while 144FPS after update!!!, ... frustrating, got refund for DLC. Lets look again in 6-12 month.
unfortunately all of this is true
@@fluxahelmisame here, 90fps and hugeee micro stuttering.
It's a video I (John) did on the Race Anywhere UA-cam channel earlier this year, in this video I was using Simagic but the same sort of options will be available with most direct drive bases :)
Here is the video - ua-cam.com/video/zG_WMMJfOy8/v-deo.htmlsi=_AoM-UgTrDezJbA4
Thank you very much. Just to be sure we are talking about thrustmasters new dd base? @@TraxionGG
Why are you advertising Asektek but then race on a crappy csl dd?
A £40 season pass for an early access game that only has 7 tracks and a handfull of cars to begin with. Game looks and apparently drives great. But this monetization scheme along with it being during early access and it still being buggy as hell...it'll be on its last legs by next year unfortunately. Hopefully AC evo gives us a better package.
Definitely virtual reality.I can't raise flat screen anymore
How about fixing the bugs freezes and fps issues
corvette? u mean mustang
There are 'vette and mustang LMGT3s. The teaser post from Traxxion's own article is of the 296 and 'vette LMGT3s
The ability to create a private server like on ACC at least is mandatory. I don't see this Coop mode being fun. I mean, the fun thing is to run WITH your friends live !!
What Endurance series ran Nordschleife 24 hours?
@@RandyMagruder The Intercontinental GT Challange, it was a standalone event until recently. I'm not sure if the is the series licenced to ACC?
It feels like the end user is paying for their bankrupcy or whatever happened last year. It's in an embrionary state while asking for fully developed game state DLC's. The season pass is for added things but if they call it LMU it should start with the full calendar with the complete pack of cars. Imagine F124 being sold as DLC as the season goes. The product is good on track. Anywhere else, not so much.
just imagine, working for free all the time yuhu!
@@elnando8777 so in the gaming industry everyone works for free up to release day?

The DLC discussion all over again... for 30 bucks in the early access they have always only granted you 2023 content. Till now there are servers running for free and the subscription will be optional. iRacings subscription alone would have cost me more in the last 8 months and I would have not driven one lmp2, gte or hypercar.
LOL - I guess COTA is on the moon based on the flag at the top of the hill at T1 🤣
@@kevinhadj82 Static flags? I don't get what you mean. By the way, I'd like to give this sim a go for €30, hoping for future updates and bug fixes, I'm not bothered to pay for a season pass at the moment because I don't care.
Whenever I try to use VR, I keep grabbing my wang instead of the shifter....
Paid DLC in early access is kinda stupid honestly because not only are you forcing people to buy the game you have to get the DLC or season pass which almost double the price of the game and it is still in EA. it will kill the game in the long run
w video 🔥
This!! I went from wanting to try it so badly to seeing how they're monetising it...I now have no interest. Let's see how AC EVO looks I guess...
@@phase_1471 Exactly! It's left me wondering what the 1.0 base game will cost & the initial content will be.

I like LMU but the DLCs are not worth it. IMOLA never shows up online and absolutely no one wants to race COTA ever. I have a feeling the game dies when they launch their subscription service. The game has 4 tracks that anyone wants to use.
Saving outside of pits is stupid and you should feel stupid for suggesting that.
Explain.
They can do what they want but the game has the wrong engine and it will always be a failure

@@ducat7493 I just think it’s wrong to launch a season pass and dlc before the game is even finished. That’s all.
Isotta was failure. Change my mind.
They finished ahead of some of the big names on their first try- that is not nothing.
As long as Vanwall/ByKolles existed, Isotta wasn't a failure. They finished LeMans on their first try for instance. Look up how the ByKolles team did in about 10 attempts.
Is anyone else having issues getting vr to work? I've got a quest 3 and a mid to high-end computer that runs any other vr sim perfect.
