I remember this singer above, her name was Stefani Germanotta Sr (born 1956)! She was a famous 80s singer with lots of hits including Alejandro which was released in 1985. Over 20 years ago, her daughter Stefani Germanotta Jr followed her mum's footsteps. To avoid people knowing her mum is Stefani Germanotta Sr, Stefani Germanotta Jr adopted a stage name 'Lady Gaga', after one of her mum's favorite Queen song “ Radio Gaga”! LOL
Her daughter sounds weirdly similar. What is it with kids ripping off their parents! Ariana Grande Jr is such a copy artist!

I was born that year! Lol! I remember listening to it when it was heard on the radio on the time of my birth in February 14th when I came out crying “Alejandro!”
I'll never forget when I met Stefani back in '76. We were two kids trying to make it in New York. We smoked some crack and she went on about how she was gonna be a movie star. Can't believe she made it :'). RIP you beautiful soul.

I had this on a mix tape I made from the top 40 countdown they always played on London’s Capital FM radio every Sunday (and still do). I loved this section of the tape because it had 3 songs in a row I loved - Alejandro was sandwiched between Madonna and Cyndi Lauper. I used to play in my room whilst wearing my shell suit and reading Fast Forward magazine. I was so angry when my little brother put it in the toaster. Mum had to go back to Rumbelows and buy a new one but I never got the song back. It was emotional just now listening to it. The memories.
