The producer bribed the night watchman to let them do this but they had to be out an hour before opening. It's why that night watchman got a special thanks credit on the EP. If you visit the Sherman Oak Galleria today, there's a fountain on the spot where Ava and her crew recorded in the mall that night. It's right across from the Cheesecake Factory.

First time I heard this was on an MTV "One Hit Wonders of the 80's" retrospective. It dropped in, like, '86 or something and Downtown Julie Brown said that, after a grueling international tour, Ava Max was so exhausted that she retreated from the spotlight.
