Someone posted a video of the A770 compared to the 3070 and even with RTX on the A770 was only about 5-10 FPS behind the 3070. I mean the A770 is going to be about half the price of a 3070. People just need to understand it's a 1st gen product that's going to have some growing pains. If it can perform in between a 3060 and 3070 for less money than a 3060, I think that's a win for Intel. I'm seeing a lot of parallels between ARC and Intel's first standalone GPU, the i740. The i740 was notable for fully exploiting the AGP interface for accessing textures in RAM (AGP Aperture), something that other mainstream GPU makers didn't do (ex: 3dfx didn't use it at all). This caused problems with many early AGP chipsets because quite a few of them cut corners in implementing the standard. It also prevented PCI versions of the card from being created. Yeah, its forward thinking to design a card to take advantage of these cutting edge features, but reality rarely makes it possible. Intel is targeting the ARC towards the mid-range/budget end of the market (like they did the i740), whose users don't always have the latest and greatest CPUs and motherboards.
The i740 was also notorious for........ garbage drivers. It took Intel awhile to get those right. Early versions would outright prevent Windows 95/98 from booting or left the user with no video at all! We won't get into the gaming "experience".

Select 8th and 9th gen select motherboards do also supports ReBAR if the vendor has provided a BIOS for it. I have a 9700K and have ReBAR enabled thanks to a BIOS update from Gigabyte.

Already jokingly remarked that "Limited" in the name refers to its capability to work in a limited way. Imagine my complete lack of a surprise that I wasn't wrong...
"Here's a budget GPU folks! Except it doesn't work IF you don't have a current gen computer!" Great selling point, bravo!

    Jay, I have a 9900k, Z370 with a 3090, and RSB (re-sizeable bar) enabled, just fine.
Had to enable in BIOS and GPU, but it worked just fine.
In fact in MSFS2020 flightsim, I would say I got an avg of 4+ FPS or more, when running at 4K resolution. So I know for a fact RSB on an Intel 9th gen works !

This is fine. I was planning on outright buying a new PC entirely and was planning on getting a 3080 as the prices in singapore have become afforadable again. But now these Arc's are looking pretty damn good

Re-bar is supported on z370 motherboards as well, which is 8th gen Intel processors. Hopefully, Arc should work with that configuration as well

I have a I9 9900k and it also can enable resizable bar on the msi carbon gaming motherboard

All the info I've read on resizable bar on Windows 11 is that it's not supported. So an important function is not available on the latest Win OS?
