Thanks for joining in this week!! I could talk about these guys for hours and I'm so happy I have a platform to share my thoughts and feel excited about music and good old harmonies!! See you soon!! :)
Thank you Jennifer for taking the time, enjoying their music and your analysis. Much appreciated!
Courtney Hadwin on here... Old Town Road, Sign of the times and Someone you loved!
For context... she's young, from your corner of the world, got a Golden Buzzer on AGT... came back for AGT Champions with her Own song Pretty Little Things!
She's an OLD Soul... Janice Joplin and Aretha Franklin could be her Grandma!!!
Please... she ROCKS!!!
Such a treat for us! Similar yet contrasting reactions for days in a row. Huge success as far as I’m concerned. I hope for more themed weeks in the future 😊
Still requesting “I Can’t Outrun You” 💚😉
Next reaction , Homefree 'Hill billy bone 🦴' cover.
Can we just go ahead and have a Home Free month?! This has been an enjoyable week, great work on your part! Thanks!!!
That'd be so cool 😎😍
Yes please!!
Or maybe a Home Free Week every month?
Yes....Homefree months!
Absolutely!!!
Don't know if you are aware of this but Home Free recruited Austin from the theater crew on a cruise ship they were also appearing on as music entertainment. So his background is musical theater!
The gents are paying homage to the 1955 movie "UNCHAINED "where Todd Duncan introduced this song, yes Bobby Hatfield has the most acclaim and popular version of this song there some 1,500 version of this song from Al Hibler,Roy Hamilton ,Elvis ,the Platters and Voice Play.
This song is the best-known and most effective piece of "mood music" ever written, and both the Brown solo and the HF versions set the mood perfectly.
PLEASE Remember Tim was a Singer/Song Writer Befor he joined Home Free. He worked for a Studieo that Wrote Songs for all sorts of singers. You NEED to React to their newest song: To the Moon and Back , the song WILL make you cry it is so GOOD !!!!!!!
You really need to watch their version of I Can't Outrun You, in which Chance has the lead.
Brothers in arms. Hug pillow and tissues
This was originally sung in a 1955 film called "Unchained" about a love that was forced to be separated by one member in jail.
This has been a great series! I loved the choices and loved Home Free! And I really appreciated your comments!
Thank you!
Both Austin and Tim have done the same song solo. I really like Austins version. It could be fun to have a comparison of the artistic and vocal choices each of them made individually and together in Home Free.
The next homefree video that I recommend you react to is “American Pie”. I think that it is one of their best songs
One you should check out is Home Free's Meet in the Middle, one of their quarantine songs. Not only sung very well but one of the best video productions.
Great Job....coming next---Home Free Month😉
This song was originally sung in 1955 movie “Unchained”, which a guy is debating on escaping from jail and living life on the run, or serving the rest of his time so he can be with his wife and family after sentence is done. Thus the jail theme. I love how they pay homage to the originals that they do.
Great reaction and analysis as usual. 🙂
In the Blood is my current favorite from these guys.
Edited to add that I loved Home Free week! I actually like Never Give You Up more after your video, because you gave me something else to think about instead of just comparing them to Rick Astley ( I don’t usually compare them to original artists, but I did with that song).
The excerpt of the original performance is on YT, demonstrating the full poignancy of the sentiment. Typewriters are used because pointed items such as pens and pencils can become improvised weapons.
I don't know if you reacted to Austin's solo cover of this. If not you should react to it.....Austin Nailed it !!!!
I was going to bring that up also. I'd love to hear Jennifer do a compare/contrast of the two renditions of this song as a musical/voice expert.
Austin Brown's cover of this is absolutely breathtaking as well...such a beautiful song ❤️
I was waiting for Austin to hit that "NEEEHEED you're love" high part... so satisfying!
I really enjoyed these 4 "Homefree " days
I appreciate that Austin did not try to replicate Bobby Hatfield's ending to this song. I'm sure he could have but I respect that he chose not to.
Isn’t it beautiful?! Home Free went back to the roots of the song. This was written for the movie Unchained in 1955 about prison. Love Tim and Austin’s solos. Love the background the boys provide. Just so well done. Love the black and white and the typewriter too. Good reaction as always Jen.😍
Jennifer, I loved your reactions to all four days of Home Free! You've had 4 days of watching the most incredibly talented goofballs on the planet! That's why we LOVE them! No matter how goofy they get, their performances & arrangements are as close to perfection as humanly possible! 🤗
I like the concept and have enjoyed your HF week. For future reference for fun HF check out "Hillbilly Bone", "Champagne tastes on a beer budget" or "My church". For solemn/sweet try "Bless the broken road" or "What we ain't got". For just silly try "All about the bass".
HF is so damn good; what more, huh!?! Absolutely amazing! Many times, oh so many times -- I think of just how many combinations that are possible ... AND how switchable those combinations are.... ummm, with nearly the EXACT same sound!!!! Mind-Boggling!!!! On top of all that --- As a group, the arrangements and sound is just SICK; then to keep it all straight/correct vs the SOLO stuff --- Different arrangements ........... LOL Hurts my head!!!! :) Be Safe
No Jen - we will not help select someone else to feature for a week. We strongly urge you to stay with Home Free weeks ONLY... and more Home Free weeks every month till Christmas!! lol
I just love your analysis's of Home Free and your fondness for Tim and Austin (giggling here and there). Be proud - we love you even more. Keep up the great work - it'll be hard to wait till the next Home Free Week! Cheers from Chuck in NE Kansas, USA
Hahaha it’ll happen! 😊
The Righteous Brothers had a big hit with "Unchained Melody" in 1965. Home Free did such a beautiful rendition of this classic song. They added an old school doo-wop feel to it. The video in prison is very fitting as this song was originally written for the 1955 prison film "Unchained". The film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or finishing his sentence and returning to his wife & family.
Funny story about The Righteous Brothers version. Bobby Hatfield wanted to do the song but Bill Medley didn't (that's why Bobby sang the song by himself) Bill didn't think the song would be popular and it ended up being a major hit.
Somewhere on UA-cam, there is a version of the song being performed live on some variety show and the host says "Now, I understand that Bobby sings this one by himself. Bill, what do you do while he is singing?" and Bill responds with "I find myself a drink and a out of the way place where no one can see and kick myself over and over."
I'm sad; this was the last HF song for your HF week! Enjoyed this week with your reactions and look forward to another HF week, or maybe a HF month!
I wish every week could be a Home Free week! I have really enjoyed this week. Sorry to see it end.
Another Home Free week, please! This was wonderful. Thankyou.
I (and I'll bet, WE) would love to hear you, Jenn, sing with these guys!
I would equally love to hear this ahah 🤞🏼😁
Mike Horton Jennifer has been practicing her LOW notes this week! She has that D nailed! I'm telling you, Tim better watch out! 😂
@David H. 😂😂
This is what the world needs. ❤️Home Free × Jen❤️
We have got some fuzzy feelings for this proposal...
Jennifer you need to sing a trio with Austin and Tim
Loved....ABSOLUTELY LOVED....Home Free week!!! Thanks!
I love your reactions but please consider doing another week of Home Free. They have so many wonderful songs. Thank you so much.
"Juicy" is the perfect word to describe the feeling I felt listening to their version of my one of my favorite songs of all time :D
This week was amazing. Since it's still July, you have plenty of lead time for a week of Home Free Christmas songs.
I absolutely loved Home Free Week!
Can you please do a Home Free Week every month? Pretty please 🙏🏻
This was a great time, Jen. Nice selection and variety of songs. Home Free can really sing; they belong in jail, 'cause their level of talent is criminal. Looking forward to a future Angelina Jordan week!
Home Free surprises us all the time -- and each new one becomes our new favorite! Very talented guys and your voice is just beautiful!! Thanks 👍 for the great reactions this week
I am so enjoying this week, Darlin'. I can't wait until next week when you do Home Free Month. 😉 just consider it, there's no reason why you can't rearrange your schedule.
Home free's version and Voiceplay's version are the best unchained melody renditions I've ever heard
This is my favorite version of this song because of the harmonys and the change up with Tim singing much deeper than the original. I also like that they didn't try to sing it the way Bobby Hatfield sung it, I think that is the mistake people make when they cover this song nobody can sing it like Bobby.
This is my second favorite version of "Unchained Melody' after Elvis Presley. His version is haunting because of the performance 6 weeks before his death so basically it's like a prayer asking God to take him home.
I interpret the prison setting as paying homage to the origins of the song written for the movie "Uncained"
A voiceplay week wold be a lot of fun
What a great version of this classic. Home Free is fantastic. I’m still going to bother you and request a Pentatonix 4 day special. Such a good idea of yours!
This song is such a beautiful classic. Would maybe be fun to react to the original sometime?
The first “Home Free Week” is in the books! A great variety of performances that showed many sides, (backsides too 😜) to Home Free. Great job with both sharing your joy and your knowledge. Looking forward to more week-long spotlights with other artists as well as more Home Free.
Go check out Jen’s Patreon y’all if you’ve enjoyed this week and want to get the inside scoop and voting privileges for the next one!
Thank you Angie!! It’s been a lot of fun and I love how it showcased Home Free too for me 😊 saw them in many different lights haha!
Austin has a solo version of this. I stumbled on it a year ago and through him discovered Home Free. Thanks for reaching to their music. Your enthusiasm is contagious 🙂
I love Austin's slide at the ending. These guys constantly surprise me, and that's why I love them.
jen this was a great concept.i found myselft in front of the computer every morning at 10:00 ( illinois time). please do this again, after all you only have about 100 more songs to go through.haha . joved all 4 days.
Ah thanks for joining in! Will do 😊
@@JenniferGlatzhofer I love your reactions! You are hands down my favorite youtube "reactors"!! I would also very much like to see you do a song or 3 with Home Free.. God please make this happen!
these four days went by too fast. I hope that you will spend another week on Home Free - there are so many. Great reaction and I am glad you got to hear some of their more serious songs as well as their comedic side.
I’ll be focusing on Home Free again for sure 😊
Home Free did this after Austin did this on his channel. Truly enjoyed watching your reaction and analysis of this song.
I vote that you dedicate one of these weeks to feature each of them on lead, and in Adam’s case the solos and some of his standout songs. I know the Home Fries would hook you up with suggestions for each of them. 😉
It has been an amusing week, and there are still lot of excellent performances from Home Free to go for, thanks Jenn, and say hi to Jacob.
Yes! I have been enjoying your daily Home Free analysis videos this week! More, please!
I love your analysis of their vocals, probably my favorite of all vocal coach reactors. You do such a good job of explaining it for us laymen. Not too much, not too little. Thanks for another HF video!
Thank you!
They do it so well. What a great week! I feel positively energized! ➕⚡😃
Yay! Thank you 😁
Thanks for making a Home Free week - love all of your reactions!
There isn't a music video for this one, but Tim Foust has an awesome cover of Can't Help Falling in Love that you should react to!
It's been a fantastic week, Jennifer. Thank you! 🥰🙏Any chance your weeks have 31 days?
Thank you!! Hahah unfortunately not!
I loved the week. The 1st time the song was used was in a 1930s prison movie 🎥 so Home Free stayed true to the song.
I’m always here for Home Free reactions. 😁 Tim did this arrangement.
I've enjoyed your week full of Home Free reactions. You should check out Austin's solo version of this song. It done differently and he really nails it.
Hey Jen! Very excited to watch you react to this amazing song and video! Our guy's are so amazing! I could listen to them 24/7, and some day's I almost do! I'm totally addicted to them and I definitely do not need or want an intervention! Lol! Home Free makes my life better and brings much joy to me! They are not only phenomenaly talented but truly wonderful gentlemen!
I love Everything about them! ❤️😀🍟
So much fun! Glad to see you’re now a Home Fry! They’re just incredible! I’m enjoying your coverage of their work!
Great week. Anytime we get more videos it is a positive. I like that you analyzed such a wide variety. Looking forward to the next week.
Another outstanding selection....we're really getting spoiled!! Thx Ms.!
Hahah thanks 😊
Loved Home Free week! Please do more. I love your reactions Jen!
A great song to finish off the week, Jen. Also a nod of thanks to your Patreon members for selecting it. This will forever be a very special song for me; and while Bobby Hatfield will always "own it" in many peoples' minds, I absolutely loved this version. Thanks!
Thank you!
This has been lovely. Thank you.
My favorite all time song + My favorite all time band = HEAVEN.. The guys are in jail because they killed this song!
Great week - thanks, Jennifer! The song is originally from a prison movie.
I loved Home Free week. I know that Mayday has been getting all the hype, but I accidentally discovered an older video that left me speechless - What We Ain't Got. Absolutely breathtaking. Can't wait for your next Home Free video.
What We Ain't Got has always been one of my favorites, right up there close to the top !! If you look here on YT, you can find live performance of it where Tim had to run up and down stairs to get his mic. Very funny !!
That is one of my favorite as well! Tim’s story is hysterical!🤣
Thanking for doing this one…and love that you mentioned those stellar background vocals. 👍🏻
Loved your Home Free week!!! Do this again!!! I also truly love when reactors react and get all giddy like us Fries!!! Brain farts and completely melting into puddles 😆
I enjoyed this week on Home Free very much. I look forward to another week on some other artist.
I love the longing and the uncertainty of these lyrics. He is wondering when he gets out, will my love still be waiting to be with me as well. The emotion and feeling just drips and rings true for me. This is one of my favorite Home Free covers to date . I am loving life Jen. Thanks !
Its been a GREAT week Ms. Jennifer. Thanks for paying specific attention to Home Free. I look forward to the next review!!
Loved Home Free week! Great songs you chose to react to!
Have we been enjoying this week ... YES! Not only do we get to listen to Home Free every day but we also get a daily dose of Jennifer! What's to not enjoy! 😅 Unchained Melody ... I hadn't heard Home Free's cover of it until now. Wow, some of those chord arrangements were interesting weren't they? Though you were having a bit of a rough piano day. 😁 Awesome reaction as usual Jennifer! And now we're all sad that the Home Free week is done! 😢 You definitely need to do more weeks like this! 😊
My piano was all over the place 😂 definitely down to being WOWED by Home Free hahah! I shall, don’t you worry!
Thank you so much for the Home Free week, loved it and you can do another any time you want. Perfect reactions!!!!
This was an enjoyable 4 days. May I strongly suggest the following: “I Can’t Outrun You”, Chance lead, 5 part harmony, and Chance directed the video. It’s hauntingly beautiful. “For fun,”Champagne Taste(on a beer budget)”, written by Tim, and he has the lead. Home Free in 2013 at the Hosanna concert doing their rendition of “Joy To the World “. It’s a wonderfully jazzy arrangement, with Rob on lead, at his soulful best. There’s even a beatbox breakdown. “Blue Ain’t Your Color “, very Motownesque, Rob lead, shared with Chance.
Would dearly LOVE another Home Free week !!! Would be interesting to go back to 14 and 15 to some of their older songs before Chance joined the group. Really love "What We Ain't Got and "crazy Life".
oh, "What We Ain't Got" is one of my favorites !!! Especially live, they do such a great job !!
need a homefree month :P and i say homefree - brothers in arms :P
You should hear Austin singing Tears in heaven it's so good.
Thank you! I love Adam Rupp’s vocals and acting during this video. So brilliant and under appreciated in my opinion. When he goes into acting mode, I always enjoy it! I have started my 2nd year of listening to stuff by Home Free and Chris Rupp nearly everyday so I have Home Free months. Anytime you react to Home Free or Chris Rupp, I will be here!
Ok Jen you've done some with Tim as lead, and of course Austin. Here's one that Adam Chance is lead on. The song is "Cover me up". When you watch it watch the whole video, before you stop it.
Let's have a Home Free year!! Lol
Fun week of Home Free reactions!
Austin has a solo version of this song on his own channel that is also amazing!
I have loved every moment of this Home Free week, and I look forward to many more! This song gets me everytime. Thank you for doing this!
Love this version and love your reaction! Using the concept of being in prison for this is bloody brilliant. I have enjoyed this week and have a bunch of
other songs of their's for another week if you want to do this again like In the Blood, God Bless the Broken Road, Brother's in Arms, and Die a Happy Man.
Jen, I have watched all four of these reactions. You have quirky cuteness running over. So much fun to watch you and your reactions. 👍
Thanks, Jenn, for this Home Free week! Hope you'll have another one soon!!
I love Home Free and their harmonies!! Such powerful visuals and a remarkable version of the song ❤️
I know it hearkens back to the mid-century movie and they portray it spectacularly, but I do hate seeing our guys behind bars. 😕 However, they can definitely "emote" through their music/videos better than just about anyone else out there!! ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
Ah thank you!
So much talent! I Absolutely love hearing these guys sing!
She should react to Home Free - All about that Bass both the actual video and the bloopers.
Jen! Please please react to the 50th Anniversary re-release of 'American Pie'. Don Mclean worked with Home Free on it. He gave each of them a verse and its perfect for them.
I’ve loved your home free week, well done, love your reactions
This week was fantastic!!!
Another great reaction. Equal parts educational and entertaining. That's why I really like your reactions, they're genuine because you are a fan. Thanks for an awesome week!
Hi Jen, I would love to hear you cover this song! I love Home Free but Bobby Hatfield will never be beaten! This was a very good and enjoyable version. Have a wonderful and blessed weekend young lady!
Great song!! 😊
I wanted them to go back to Tim for the ending, because he can go really high like that also. The entire band is phenomenal. Even Adam Chance, who is not featured a lot, is a gifted vocalist.
