there is an engine house in this valley which was the first ever use of electric pumps in the world later on this mine was used for training of students for the royal School of mines
The valley looks great in the spring sunset! John’s pumping house clinging to the side of the valley was built 1861 for 2nd hand 70inch pumping engine. Worked till 1864 then engine moved to wheal uny at redruth. Wheal ellen enginehouse further down was built for a 70 inch engine for a reworking in 1866. But engine was never installed. Believe this may be now being turned into a home. Hansome drone footage mate 👍
I can't believe we haven't crossed paths yet! We have been in the same area as you on so many occasions - either a day before or a day after, sometimes the same day. We tend to walk mornings whereas most of your vids seem to be afternoon. That might explain it... or the areas are quite large. Yesterday we were at Wheal Charlotte and Mingoose.
