Seems crazy the streets of LA have become such a huge mess surrounded by millionaires in the hills.
Skid row has existed since the great depression. It's not new. The city designated this as a homeless/addict neighborhood in the 1970s.

I can remember walking L.A. skid row in the fortys and fiftys! No tents, No grafity, No trash, No homeless people, only grimly old buildings with super cheap rooms for rent!. MUCH SAFER THAN ! Better In the old days!

There isn't a better system than capitalism. The government just must invest the wealth (generated by capitalism) into a social welfare system and such. Similar to what a lot of Europe has done.
The USA doesn't need to put so much money into military...

i remember the days when there was hardly any homeless in LA, got out of S Cal 12 years ago , wow there's no fixing !
So this doesn’t bother anyone? I’ve only been to Cali once like 26 years ago…it was not like this. I mean DC is not much better, moved away from there after 9/11. This is sad. I’m heart sick that this is happening here and in previously beautiful cities across the US.
California has some of the grossest parts of America. Just look at SF. Used to be beautiful, now it’s disgusting. It absolutely breaks my heart. I feel like I’m watching a video from a war torn country.

Those apartments are strictly for the people that were living on the streets. So, alot of people want to live in those apartments.
Los Angeles aka Lost Angels, one of the last outposts, its interesting the different people, those in groups, clusters, tents all near one another, older - elder groups, different ages and backgrounds, individuals, new people, people walking their dogs, people laughing, turn down another street, sum thing else going on+ and young people everywhere - we are only seeing 17mins in a 24hr cycle, lots going on - nice one for the uploads..
What about the lofts people paying $$$ to live next to skid row that's a joke

Since covid, it's gotten worse. Yes, wealth inequality plays a huge part, but the drugs out there are different from decades past. Meth and fentynal are worse than crack and heroin.
You are walking near the skid row area of Los Angeles. A better reflection would be in areas further south and west. Majority of people living in Los Angeles would not venture into the areas you are portraying. And, definitely not at night! This is extremely dangerous! I would not drive downtown at night.
