For example if I offered you a legit job that will potentionally pay you more than $100/hr and didn't tell you exactly what it was but said for you to show up the next day and youll get it. You will show up. Even if the job is scooping poop Because you don't care about that, you care about the money When we show someone the numbers, and how solar actually works. They don't care about the solar panels they care about cutting their electric bill in half.

It’s natural to say no the first time, most of the time. I’d say give it a couple of re-directions and if they say no 2-3 times then I’d not waste anymore time.
You have to transport your dumbass from your shop/house to your clients home.. and then clean the windows. So when you're already in the area.. you remove that fee. Since you know.. Gas costs money, time costs money, vehicle maintenance costs money..

I obviously don’t have a 100+ account business that I could afford to tell people there is a $100 fee for me to come out and clean your windows. Especially when window cleaning supplies can be transported in a 50mpg+ vehicle, no need for a gas guzzler. I clean windows at $5/window on average, that’s it, that’s the only fee. If you have 2 windows, it’s $10 and I’m driving over there to do it. It’s not worth it though, that’s why I try to get more business in that area to make it worth it to drive out there. I’m not charging somebody $100 to come clean their windows for $10. That would be ludicrous, and I’d have 10% of the clients I have now if I was charging fees like that. But you are right, when I’m making 200k+/year and if my clients don’t like a transport fee, and there are other clients willing to pay that, then sure. But fuck man.. a $100 transport fee for a window cleaning?? It must cost $5-10 in gas to circle his entire county. And why would a job be further than 30 minutes away? That’s 1 hour for transport time at max, which would be $50 at most. It would be logical to have a $59 transport fee if you want to make a compromise. Telling the customer you’ll waive the $100 transport fee is only a lie to make the customer believe there was a fee they would have been charged but now they “think” they’re getting a deal. That’s the only way this makes sense.

Average cost to aquire a customer - $60, Gas, maintenance, depreciation to get to the customer - $15, your technician's time (or yours if you're doing the job at 25 an hour) - $50 with taxes, cleaning supplies - $10, + software, website, and other expenses, and business has to make a profit. How much profit would your business make after paying yourself if you're charning $10 to clean a couple windows?
