I don't typically do "sit down and chat" vlogs but it seemed worth it to share my experience waking up early the past few weeks. I also wanted to mention that I started this because Bria was sleeping through the night, but now she's not anymore haha. I'm still waking up early though because it's helping me in SO many areas! Every time I don’t wake up before my kids I ALWAYS regret it! It’s a little bit difficult for me right now with my 2 month old BUT I still feel really good and productive when I decide to not crawl back into bed at 5 or 6 in the morning. Even if I just get to have a head start on prepping me and my toddler’s breakfast, or emptying the dishwasher and putting away all clean dishes, picking up toys, sweeping, etc. I always feel more productive throughout the whole day!
Wooow! You are really crushing it waking up that early with a 2 month old! This is so true though… You get such a good head start on the day! :)

I have a 5 month and I started getting up at 7a, before she wakes up, and I already feel it has made a difference in my mood and productivity! 💗 also you inspired me to start posting my own videos on UA-cam so that I will always have them to cherish...and filming myself cleaning is also so motivating! Lol.

I wake up before my kiddos too. Even if you don't do much, just so nice to wake up and start your day with some quiet time before the craziness starts LOL. Love your channel!

I get up at 5am during the week also, I have to be at work at 8:30 (it’s a 5 min drive) and I agree that getting up super early is so helpful. I can do laundry, unload the dishwasher, catch up on emails etc before work every day. It also helps me to sleep good at night. I know I say this every time but the girls are so darn adorable! Bria is really showing her personality on camera, I remember when Quinn first starting doing the same thing.

We could all benefit by getting up early and getting outside and napping in the afternoon! Sounds good. I still have the habit of going to bed around 1 a.m. But, I've started waking up earlier. I don't have young children, but I have a cat that gets depressed if he can't go outside (now that it's colder and snowing or raining). I tend to my birds outside and take him for a quick outing too. I noticed he's happier with that bit of fresh air, and I enjoy it too! With the drastic Fall weather change, alot of us are dealing with coldish/sinus issues. Fall took us all by surprise this year!

Yes, would love to see a morning routine! I really need to start waking up early too, but sometimes with our work schedule we don’t get off till like 10pm so it makes it hard to wake up early the next morning 😵💫😴 also any tips for helping baby drink from a straw? Bria looks like a pro at it! I can tell our baby boy wants to but when he puts the straw in his mouth he just doesn’t know what to do
I will definitely film one! And I would say waking up early is only worth it if it helps you… And if you’re going to bed that late then it might not be much help the next morning haha! But maybe it would be more help on the days that you can get to bed earlier? She learned with a straw by just pulling it out of the water cup with my finger over the top so the straw would stay full and putting it in her mouth and letting the water out. Eventually she just started sucking the water out and then I would let her just suck it straight out of the cup. It took a while to get it down but overall that method worked! 😁

Yeah our fall in the midwest seems to be shorter this year.. we got snow the other day here in Wisconsin 😳 harder to go outside with kiddos when it's colder.
Oh I hate using dry shampoo too. I only use it if I know I'm going to wash my hair the next day. I only wash my hair once a week (probably sounds gross but I have wavy/curly hair that's dark so you can't really tell 😅) so I can refrain from using dry shampoo most of the time.

I crash at 3pm as well since I wake up early. The good part is I’m in bed by 9pm getting my sleep.

I also HATE dry shampoo!!! I thought I was the only one. Lol 😆 if I need a refresher, I use baby powder in my hands into my roots.

This brings back so many memories with my two boys ❤ I am so glad you are feeling better about your new routine. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the babies we forget to take care of ourselves! Getting up early is a good thing to give you some time to figure out your daily plans. It’s a win-win!

I've been wanting to wake up early like you suggest, but our 10 month old is still not sleeping through the night. I say that I will start waking up at 5:00 once she does sleep through the night. But I'm too tired to do it until that point. I know it will be so helpful with two kids pretty similar to yours.
That was my plan with Bria too... I waited til she slept through the night pretty good! She's stopped again since I filmed this but some days I still get up early just because I tasted the freedom haha!

Thank you, Ashley! I think she went to bed around 845 to 9-ish that day. Normally she would’ve been in bed between 730 and 8.

I’ve tried waking up before my 6 month old but she always wakes up way before her usual wake up time whenever I do 😂 it’s almost like she knows I’m trying to start the day before her hahaha
Hahaha they're too smart! Bria has definitely done the same thing quite a few days. I just tell myself it's worth it if I at least get my shower done ;)
I know, I'm thinking that would be lovely but my twin girls are 8 months and they are going through regression so they don't sleep until 7a like they use to, otherwise I'd like to try to wake at 5 or 6a LOL

I can’t wait to be able to wake up before my kids. I have a new baby (almost 8 weeks old) and a toddler who is almost always up by 7 AM. Once my little one and I start sleeping better I will definitely take advantage of waking up at 5/5:30.

I just had to come back on and say I totally feel the same way about doing my husbands hair cuts because I also cut his hair to save money on salon trips.
It was just cool to hear of another wife who cuts the hubby’s hair but doesn’t look forward to it. One of my biggest complaints is how no matter what I do to prevent his hair getting on my skin, it does! Grrrrr!

Hi Cara, I don’t use dry shampoo either, I hate the way it makes my hair feel and it just feels like it makes it worse. My hair is very fine and I have to actually wash it everyday. I would love to wake up early and get things done but my 8 month old is still waking up a lot in the night and refuses to nap during the day. Hoping to start doing this if she ever does! Random question, which car seat do you have for Quinn and do you recommend it? Trying to find a convertible seat for my daughter since the infant seat is getting so heavy! I agree! Glad it's not just me ;) Definitely get your rest if the baby is still waking up a lot! Bria actually went through a phase since I filmed this of waking up multiple times a night again so I didn't get up early most of those days. Quinn uses the Chicco nextfit max. I've liked it so far and don't have any complaints! We actually have 2 and like them both ;)

Sometimes I do on the weekends, but not always. If I have a sleeping in day I like it to be Saturday when Eric is home anyway! Thaaanks! It’s from target… Casaluna brand :)

I’m wondering if you all have allergies and not a cold. My allergies have been pretty awful for about three weeks now.
I do have allergies but ended up ruling that out... it just wasn't the same as my typical seasonal allergies.
