Dont know the laws in Canada regarding height limits, but in the US you can fly above 400 feet if you are within 400 feet of a structure. For example if you are flying over a building that is 200 feet high, you could fly 600 feet.
The landing pad is more then a protection from dirt and grass. The inspire 2 have a software which called precision landing. The downward sensor is capturing the landing pad and save it for return to home feature. So it mean it will land exactly where it took off with all the information collected from the take off including gps, height and others.
Is this about the drone or about you? I think this guy loves to himself! We missed how the drone was setup because this guy wanted the spot light the whole time!
Don’t see the point in having one of these when you can get the mavic mini for $350 or $460 for fly more combo. You can get good cinematic videos on the mavic mini if you know how to set the camera settings properly.
hahah, the mavic mini sure is an amazing drone for it’s price and it shoots decent footage! but if you take an inspire 2 with x7. you will see an incredible difference. the dynamic range is better, you got a lot more settings so you can control the aperture, you can create more effects such as the parallax effect and a lot more things. but don’t forget that these drones are aimed for diffrent people. inspire 2 for prosumers/pro’s and the mavic mini for beginners.
The simple answer is you can’t fly an external camera on a mavic. However you can’t exactly fly a red camera on an inspire either. At that point your starting to get into custom built cinema rigs that cost a bit more. The inspire is best for the gray area between pro-sumer and people that need a custom rig. So best use for the inspire is for people that the mavic isn’t good enough for, but they don’t need a custom rig.
Footage is from the CineSSD! Though Izzy is admittedly not a full time cinematographer (close though) so the footage here hasn't been given the absolute best treatment.
Canada is 400 ft only regardless? FAA in US allows 400ft AGL. so if the building you're flying over is X number of feet, then you can go 400 ft above that, within a 400 ft radius.
I had one of my DJI 3 advance just fall out of the sky in to the bay,, lol could not retrieve it,,,, I also lost a 3 standard (: currently flying a DJI phantom 4pro and a Mavik air....👍🏼👍🏼 addicted to flying lol, safe flying my friends

If you want to not fly quads and be frustrated and spend a bucket load of money every month the get a freestyle quad. nemac23 in USA. It is 400 ft from structure and 400 ft above structure. I do inspections of cel towers all the time. So if you are within 400 ft of a 1000 ft tower you can fly 1,400 ft agl.
Manu Flyer That was the DJI CrystalSky monitor, 7.85 inch, not sure of the brightness, but would guess it was probably the Ultra considering the rest of his kit.

B Drones 400’ above structures. Not only for what you referenced, but those buildings need inspected. So they let us go 400’ above for safety. And airplane pilots should be observing flying higher over those buildings anyway. In the air he has the drone (3000)- x5s (1400)-lens (up to 600). Remove the 600$ controller included in the drone body and you have 5000$ US in the air. I like the video. Great point on the landing pad. Do you have the focus wheel? Do you have any problems with a horribly tilted horizon?

I’m always hearing about Inspire 2 owners having battery issues. To the point where it “seems” like odds are you’re more likely to have issues with the Inspire 2 than not. Have you had any problems in the year or so you’ve owned it? I also noticed that you picked up the Inspire 2 when you took it out of travel mode. Is that something you recommend? I had heard that this protects the motor, is this why you do that? Thanks for your time, great video!
Your info on GoPro Karma is correct and not correct. The original Karma came out with their GoPro 5, not GoPro 6 (minor miss info). However, the reason the original Karma dropped out of sky was the battery did not have a good latch and the battery would come out of drone with abrupt flying. GoPro recalled all Karma drones and fixed battery latch and are currently selling Karma drones without any issues (no battery falling out). It is still a good drone solution for someone who uses GoPro products since you can use your GoPro 5 or 6 you may already have. I have a Karma and a DJI Mavic Air. Even though the Mavic Air has more features and more of a shutterbug persons drone, the Karma is a much simpler drone to use. It comes with a nice backpack case, a hand-held stabilizer for GoPro 5 or 6 and a built-in screen and can be linked to any iPad as a second monitor. GoPro refunded 100% price of the Karma and I'm not 100% sure but, I heard they gave Karma owners a free GoPro for their trouble as well. So, DJI is the king in the drone world and GoPro is the king in sports cameras and will never be competition to DJI. GoPro's move into the drone market is coming to an end. In the company's fourth quarter 2017 results announcement, GoPro said it will discontinue its Karma drone and exit the category. .
It’s nice listening to reasonable arguments to an FAA inquiry. I had to literally watch this excellent posting 5 times to glean everything. Calgary is so far removed from San Francisco but to give you guys an idea about FAA enforcement. There’s guys in downtown SF flying well over the legal limits in broad daylight 50m from city hall.
