I can imagine it playing out like this: Ending, Part 1 Robin: “With the Lazarus Pit destroyed, the Court of Owls have mostly vanished” Batgirl: “Without the promise of eternal life, they’ll need to regroup” Nightwing: “Talia booked it, of course. There’s nothing in Gotham for her now” Red Hood: “Course, she left a few of her League puppets to keep an eye on us. Or keep us busy. Both probably”
Ending Part 2 Robin: “We…found the wreckage of the Batwing. He’s…he’s gone” Batgirl: “Gotham city needs us. The court will try to pretend this never happened” Nightwing: “This city is no longer their plaything” Red Hood: “Exposing Jacob Kane was just the beginning”
Ending Part 3 Robin: “The Court of Owls is at war with this city and it’s people, and they’re not about to stop” Batgirl: “But their days of lurking in every shadow are over. Because we will find them and bring them to the light” Nightwing: “The people of Gotham City deserve some good. It’s overdue” Red Hood: “We swear to you… We will not stop fighting until you can” This is my thought on how the co-op ending would play out
I Just Love how Nightwing's speech is different from the rest. The other Batkids sound like fighters and ready to punish evil, while Dick is giving them a promise to protect people as their knight. It's like a sacred vow for Gotham. (kinda romantic in a way lmao). I love all Batfam members but Nightwing has a special place in my heart as the best out of all of them (after Batman of course)
It's great to see Bruce's meaningful goodbye to each character in turn. In my head, it makes the most sense for either Nightwing (Bruce's ward, first Robin, and the closest thing he has to a blood child) or Red Hood (personal experience with the Lazarus Pit, and the one who needs the most work to become a team player again). I like their messages to Gotham, and the way they sum up continued Court of Owls and League of Assassins activities, the best. And no hits for ANY of the three stage boss fights = boss.
I wholeheartedly agree. Personally, I think both Nightwing and Red Hood are the true heirs to the Batman legacy. Nightwing does by his commitment to saving and protecting the innocent. And Red Hood does by his commitment to punishing and terrorizing the guilty. Two sides of the same coin that need each other. And Gotham needs them both.
- I'm glad I finished this as Red Hood, he had genuinely funny dialog "You had to try out dying for yourself... couldn't you trust my intel just once?" it seems fitting that this kind of dark humor breaks through to Bruce's humanity, and he laughs in response... in other endings he just seems to be laughing randomly at his own absurdity - why was Barbara's shirt always untucked? imo they basically made Robin a copy of actor Jesse Eisenberg... Robin had the easiest fight spamming darts at Talia's face lol
With Nightwing, Robin, and Red Hood, after they wake up, Alfred says the same thing: "you know, you really should not be fighting with those injuries" But with Batgirl he says her back is just bruised and not injured, which is a callback to how she was almost put out of commission permanently due to a back injury in the past.
Each character has something different in some part of the game. I liked that. I been playing through them to see what is different and what's not. My first playthrough was everyone and ended up with Jason as the ending. But i went through Robin and Batgirl as the sole character through the game. Planning Redhood next and Nightwing last
ngl, that was actually kinda satisfying for me. i mean Damian has really grown on me, but that doesn't excuse the fact that she literally date-raped Bruce to conceive him.
The scene of the characters with "injuries" would make more sense if the character's injuries were VISIBLE in some way. Show the character models wrapped in bandages, sporting cuts, give us something.
I think I liked Nightwing's ending the best because the family started out with the two of them. The Dynamic Duo. It felt fitting that it would end with the two of them.
I love the secret ending and how it shows that they are family. All they want is for Bruce to come up and eat, technically he could get child neglect for Tim since they still haven't ate together as a family! Lol
Hands down Nightwing has got the best ending in the game. Along with Alfred and Jim Gordon, Dick is one of the most important and developed characters in the Batman comics. Plus he's the Number 1 Sexiest Male Character in Comics.
From now on Danny will be known as Red Hood,Danny’s second buddy Kalahan will be known as Robin,Danny’s first buddy Marty will be known as Nightwing and Bekah will be known as Batgirl.
it would be cool if there would be different endings for all these characters, like robin not being able to defeat Bruce while red hood is able to defeat Bruce
Jason winning here is because of armor and guns as Bruce doesn't have anything. Bruce and Dick are near equal and both have KO'd Jason with one hit before, even when Dick was in a split personality caused by the joker and couldn't remember "a lifetime of training" in his words and he still one tapped Jason. Jason has said he couldn't win in a FAIR fight against Bruce/Dick which is only why I'd say he wins here
On a sidenote, these two also seem to have the most impact on the GCPD. According to their case files, Nightwing is the most admired. While Red Hood is the most feared. But both have earned the begrudging respect of the cops. Interestingly, Detective Romy Chandler handles both of their cases.
Although the game is a far cry from what this channel mainly grew from, it's still amazing to see more content from people this perfervid about DC superheroes.
I feel like you're alive again playing Batman games. It is sad now that it's ended. So, what's next in BAV, will you be playing one character in one playthrough? Since they all have different cutscenes.
"Did you know that besides bringing someone back to life, a Lazarus Pit can warp the user's mind?" Red Hood, resurrected and slightly crazy Batfamily member: "Wow, amazing, Talia, I've never heard such a thing..."
I remember playing my first playthrough with each character getting a turn. Ended with Redhood. I played through Robin and i loved how serious and "older" he gotten at the end with the knighthood gear. Batgirl looked awesome in her new look as she stood up. Planning on doing Redhood again but the whole way, and then Nightwing last (figured that's symbolic)
My favorite part is the look on Commissioner evil husband's face. Even she can no longer pretend that the GCPD are the "Real Heroes" anymore. Not when her own family has been publicly revealed to part of, if not the source of Gotham's evil. And after all that talk about costumed Heroes being no better than costumed Villains, now her own trustworthiness has been called into serious question. What has she even done for the city anyway? She doesn't even try to clean up her department. And now the whole city knows for sure who the true knights of Gotham are.
For me it goes 1. Robin/Tim Drake The Knights all struggle with losing Batman, but none more so than Tim. While Nightwing, Red Hood, and Batgirl have already defined themselves as heroes, Tim still hasn't. There has never been a Robin without a Batman. If fighting Bruce wasn't heart wrenching enough, Tim has to watch him die again. But the silver lining is that Batman tells him what Alfred has said this entire time: that Robin is ready to step out of the shadow of the Bat and become his own hero. 2. Nightwing/Dick Grayson Nightwing has the most history with both Batman and Talia of the Knights. As such, he kind of became the unofficial leader of the group. He's the most experienced and beating Batman is kind of his final test. He truly embodies the justice that Batman stood for. And his end speech is a lot more about protecting Gotham and its people deserving to feel safe than fighting the Court of Owls. 3. Red Hood/Jason Todd Jason has the unique position of also being revived by the Lazarus Pit, but not as a slave like Talia wants to do with Bruce. Bruce brought Jason back because he truly loved him. Talia brought Bruce back because she saw an opportunity to make the League stronger with Batman under her control. While all endings bring Bruce back, Jason's hits harder because you know he's been through this before. 4. Batgirl/Barbara Gordon Batgirl kinda gets the short end of the stick here. For the others, Bruce is as much their father as he is a mentor. But Jim Gordon already has that place in Barbara's life. Of the four endings, while it's still good, it doesn't have the same impact.
That Epilogue should have been with all Gotham Knights sending message to Gotham not just the one you finished last mission. I have to say I have lot of issues with this game and this is one of them. Aren't they trying to become family and new worthy protectors of Gotham?
So... there's not even any incentive to replay the game/missions with other characters now? The endings are identical - the same chain of events, same cutscenes, same dialogue scheme, same combat encounters... the characters don't even get to shine on their own cause they're forced to act and behave the same way as their teammates do... I threw my fair amount of shit on this but it really wasn't out of spite but... resignation. This just had so much potential. A game without Batman, focused on these 4... it really would've worked well, even with the questionable combat. Imagine if this was done the same way the original trilogy was - a 20-25 hours open world SP story with an optional coop that actually focused on the Knights being a group instead of focusing on this weird one moment they're a group-another they're individuals crap. Imagine a proper exploration of grief after Bruce's death from each character and their own individual path to getting over it and realizing their own potential. Imagine a proper final mission that would focus on beating Talia but also made them realize how well they work as a team. Such a waste. That being said, thank you BAV for the playthrough. You've saved me a lot of money and thanks to you I had something to look forward to during those last 2 weeks. Hope to see more from you, soon!
I feel like it makes most sense to do it with Tim he is the most underrated and the kid of the family it would be cool for him to be the one saving the day instead of dick or Jason

Wow, really dropped the ball with the ending. Four health bars worth of a “final boss” and the mechanics come down to the exact same thing as the other enemies all throughout the game. Just goes to show this game is not mechanically deep enough to support hours of gameplay. It just becomes stale. I appreciate AV making some decent use of abilities, but there’s no actual requirement to do so, other than style and more efficient damage. You could do this with a no upgraded run. The writing quality also feels spread thin over the 4 endings, strangely unlike the rest of the games unique writing for the characters and their chapters and challenges. I also find Bruce’s speech and suicide to be a bit strange. Surely he would’ve been more of a benefit to Gotham alive again to find the court even if they could use the power of the pit. And there could’ve been ways to use the damaged batwing to bury the pit maybe without Killing himself? It just felt like “we need Bruce to die again by the end of the game”. And that line about not fearing criminals, but the corrupt politicians and law enforcement. I mean… wouldn’t that make them criminals Bruce? Just disappointed by this game as a whole. Writing staff shined in a couple places but the gameplay itself is so lacklustre.

These endings were great but I can’t help but wish their was an ending that had all four characters facing the boss together.
For real.
That Would've Made The Game A Little Better (In My Opinion).
I can imagine it playing out like this:
Ending, Part 1
Robin: “With the Lazarus Pit destroyed, the Court of Owls have mostly vanished”
Batgirl: “Without the promise of eternal life, they’ll need to regroup”
Nightwing: “Talia booked it, of course. There’s nothing in Gotham for her now”
Red Hood: “Course, she left a few of her League puppets to keep an eye on us. Or keep us busy. Both probably”

Batgirl: “Gotham city needs us. The court will try to pretend this never happened”
Nightwing: “This city is no longer their plaything”
Red Hood: “Exposing Jacob Kane was just the beginning”
Ending Part 3
Robin: “The Court of Owls is at war with this city and it’s people, and they’re not about to stop”
Batgirl: “But their days of lurking in every shadow are over. Because we will find them and bring them to the light”
Nightwing: “The people of Gotham City deserve some good. It’s overdue”
Red Hood: “We swear to you… We will not stop fighting until you can”

I really liked Jason and Barbara's interactions with Bruce and their message to the city.
Tim's interaction with Bruce was nice too.

Ok, the best boss fight speed runner is Red Hood because he has pure strength, like Hercules and guns. That makes him a cheat-mode boss-fight guy.
