The running commentary on Alfred just trying to get Batman to eat dinner was hilarious. Great job as usual. I haven't actually played this one yet, so it was a fun ride.
One of my favorite Batman: Arkham things is Batman: Assault on Arkham. An Arkham tie-in movie and ended up being a fantastic Suicide Squad animated movie. And the Origins Deatshtroke trailer is still one of the best animated fights ever.
What a beautiful thing to see in my feed as I’m playing through Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Considering the amount of times VII Remake popped up during the Kingdom Hearts lore dump, would love to see the FFVII saga as a lore dump series one day, with Neil being the one who has no idea what’s going on.
honestly didnt realize rizz was short for charisma i just knew what it meant from context clues. i refuse to use it cuz it sounds weird and way too close other grosser slang terms.
i actually kinda LOVED troy baker's joker. usually i always hear him in his voices but i didn't hear him at all in this! he did a great younger, more aimless joker. he's not less calculating than he is when he's older but there's something slightly more reckless about him. both the VAs did a great job of sounding intangibly younger; subtle performance tweaks from their older counterparts make them feel like stages in the same life instead of wholly different people
I recently rewatched Assault on Arkham, which is apparently canon to the Arkham universe, set about 2 years prior. I will not spoil Suicide Squad, but there is a plot point many people are displeased with, and Assault on Arkham shows quite clearly why what occurs should Really not happen that way.
So happy to hear you all covering one of my favorite stories from the Arkhamverse. I still remember playing this game around the holidays when it released. Such a perfect vibe. Love the content, guys, keep it up!
I really enjoyed the dark Gritty christmas theme that played during the credits and on the title screen. It was a nice attention to detail. I also found this game fairly enjoyable and while I do understand why people didn't like the Joker coming back yet again, he really didn't detract from what was a pretty solid christmas story.
Glory to the late, great, Michael Ansara for his work as B:tAS Mr. Freeze, but also when I think of his origin story (including the derivative of it in the DLC), it always kills me a little bit that the conflict is between Fries (freeze) and Boyle (boil).
One of the Riddles in the Steel Mill in Arkham City directly mentions it, "What can Freeze and BOYLE at the same time?" And the solution is a Boyle Cryogenics company advertisement
44:20 Batman is probably asking for the Joker because he knows Black Mask just got assaulted pretty heavily, so it's odd that he's here at the bank doing Tuesday stuff. Bats probably figures Joker is somehow directing him
My favorite bit is them not "knowing" Batman is Bruce Wayne or that his parents are dead. Freeze is one of my favorite too. His story is just so heartbreaking.
I will say: the character work is good but the actual Heart of Ice episode? Some weird stuff in there, and at least one of the intended major emotional beats got me laughing
Troy Baker does an incredible job as Joker in this game. Honestly since Kevin Conroy (Rest in Peace) and Mark Hamil are done with Batman and Joker respectively, I legitimately think Troy Baker should be the primary successor to both.
I've relistened to this series multiple times and the comment that because it's christmas eve it's the wrong day for christmas dinner anyway always gives me pause. My family always had the big christmas dinner on christmas eve. Christmas day was a nice breakfast and then just gorging on leftovers lol This might just be a quirk of my family though.
Revisiting this makes me wish that WB Montreal had made a sequel to Origins instead of Gotham Knights. There are so many things to be explored and developed that the main trilogy didn't, such as Bruce's relationship with his Robins.
44:16 Jim's really naive in this game. His boss Loeb and most of the GCPD were corrupt including the SWAT guy Branden who was trying to get the bounty on Batman.
Origins? oh wow, i've always wanted to know Batman's Origin story, it's hardly ever explained! It's almost as much a mystery as Spiderman's origin story! (all kidding aside, i'm not a huge batman fan but these episodes have been greatly enjoyable so far!)
Alfred killed the Waynes was the backstory for Owlman the evil Batman of the crime syndicate an alternate reality version of the justice league. He killed the Wayne’s on Evil Bruce Wanes orders and was killed by the cops driving Evil Bruce to hate all who fought crime
I really liked the main story of this game as wacky as it is I just wish that the gameplay was more interesting. I think origins would be better off as a movie or two or a tv show than a game
I will say ... granted everyones reasoning is sound 😅 .... i think Alfred was physically fine for being crushed under rubble, i just think the toll of everything thats happened. The built up stress of Bruce veing Batman for the past couple years The extreme stress of tonight so far Batman /Bruce dying from poison Alfred lashing out at Bruce, something hes probably never done. Bane showing up and Alfred having combined stress of "oh no, they found the cave, that means they probably know who he is!" with Bane beating him up (or his men did) Said Batcave crumbling down ,all of Bruces work potentially crashing down and possibly fear of Wayne manor meeting same fate All this with Alfreds age i think his heart just gave out more than anything.
I was so confused when you said 2 final Arkham games, I kept counting the games, and then I remembered Suicide Squad, are you going to do a Lore Dump on that one? or did you mean Gotham Knights??
"By the time you get this suicide squad will be out. Tell us what you think" Its $70 so im not buying it. The only differences ive observed between characters is traversal so im not waiting for a price drop. From the cutscenes i watched i genuinely dont know why anyone in the squad is alive or allowed to live. The highest player count ive heard is 1000 players and a videos thumbnail claims its 580. So yeah "[Suicide Squad] 100 years, 100 years of [Suicide Squad]." Im gonna play some Deep Rock and grind in Warframe. Maybe breakdown and buy Gaus prime or Nidus prime.
I liked this game. Sure, it's the least good (if that makes sense) of the franchise, but I enjoyed my time with it. If I had to summarized my 'criticism', it would be the game didn't... innovate enough, at least in terms of gameplay.
Sorry to say this but Suicide squad is basically really bad, especially the story and yeah it's already about to die since there's only 200 people left playing
I actually think Joker is not the big bad of City or Knight! He might steal the scenes he’s in, but I think he’s only the big bad of Asylum and this! I think this series just focuses on Batman and Joker’s relationship because of what it says about both of them! It’s more like they’re both the main characters of the series!
I never realized until now, but "Boyle" is so on the head as a nemesis for Freeze 😂
Gigging over the thought of the Riddler fanboyism 😂 The dastardly duo... The Pun-neler and his trusty sidekick, Limerick boy
30m into the video, I demand to see a mod for this game where all of the assassin's are all just Alfred trying to make Batman eat his GothHam
Unironically, much better than the actual suicide squad movie and the game.
Calendar Man doesn’t only appear on holidays in City! He just has special dialogue on holidays, but he’s always in that cell in the courthouse!
1:55:37 No one appreciated Neil’s Batman V Superman dig. Don’t worry Neil. I noticed.
I noticed, I’m glad I’m not the only one
begging for neil to drop the full top 100 animals list
I second this
The cult of Neil demands it
Been listening to the podcast the last two days and I had to come here and say HOLY shit your impressions of these characters are amazing.
25:36 Ha! I hope that was an intentional jab at the Gotham tv show's not-Joker-but-he-kinda-is-but-nevermind character
The overwhelming enjoyment I get in finding fellow Scottish UA-camrs
Monty's gotta get his voice actor career started already
Monty learning what “rizz” means went exactly the same way that it did for me and I enjoyed getting to hear it happen to someone else
honestly didnt realize rizz was short for charisma i just knew what it meant from context clues. i refuse to use it cuz it sounds weird and way too close other grosser slang terms.
i actually kinda LOVED troy baker's joker. usually i always hear him in his voices but i didn't hear him at all in this! he did a great younger, more aimless joker. he's not less calculating than he is when he's older but there's something slightly more reckless about him. both the VAs did a great job of sounding intangibly younger; subtle performance tweaks from their older counterparts make them feel like stages in the same life instead of wholly different people
21:41 Neil with the Robat Battinbat reference, hell yeah
Bats are sky puppies. I will die on this hill.
Bats are sky-puppies and pinnipeds (seals and sea-lions) are water puppies.
@@wrenbeck3370 But what are fire puppers?
if the ground are dog, the air are bats, and the water are seals, what are fire doggos?
@@ijones36 Volcanologists.
Man, this Batman guy sounds like a real hero! I wonder how he became "The Batman"...
Chase's avatar shouldve been Harley. I will die on this hill
Firefly still tries to kill Batman because he was in dire need of money, as he was BURNING through cash
Neil lore: he's short
And sweet
And used to work in a fancy hotel
I love Neil more and more with each episode. Everyone is great but I listen for him the most. Wanted to tell you that!
11:29 bro you did a perfect impression of Roger clark as batman, it caught me off guard lol.
1:31:35 Firefly and Deathstroke went from having cool boss fights in Origins to being just 2 more of Knight's endless tank battles.
Another banger. Good work on the story recap Monty, Neil should become a voice acting coach, and can someone draw Chase as the Punler.
So happy to hear you all covering one of my favorite stories from the Arkhamverse. I still remember playing this game around the holidays when it released. Such a perfect vibe. Love the content, guys, keep it up!

I think my second favourite in the series behind Arkham Knight! Can’t wait to hear how Chase reacts to the clown and the Christmas setting!
22:15 explaining what rizz means will be the peak of this series, its all down hill.
Here at “1 hr ago” love all you guys do!!! My go too videos to listen to during work 😎

God I love Lore Dump.
deathstrokes demotion in recent years from badass greatest assassin to grandpa that has beef with 12 year olds and somehow looses is great
Don't be disheartened Monty, just a bit of practice had your cockney pretty good. You have the potential for greatness
Arkham Origins is actually my favorite of the Arkham games after Asylum, so I've been looking forward to this retelling
Whose got two thumbs and a Friday that just got better? This guy.
This is the best game, right?
"NOT NOW ALFRED!"
45:54 - 50:07 is the Joker reveal dialog
44:20 Batman is probably asking for the Joker because he knows Black Mask just got assaulted pretty heavily, so it's odd that he's here at the bank doing Tuesday stuff. Bats probably figures Joker is somehow directing him
My favorite bit is them not "knowing" Batman is Bruce Wayne or that his parents are dead. Freeze is one of my favorite too. His story is just so heartbreaking.
Good morning, what a great way to start a slow work Friday before a 3 day weekend
Correction: Bane injected himself with TN-1, a predecessor of Titan after Batman revived him. The side effects include memory loss.
Honestly this is the best story out of the arkham trilogy as it really shows a side to batman we've never seen before
Penguin: “I ain’t done nothing you’ve not done!”
Ah yes, who could forget Batman’s penchant for international arms dealing and hosting fight nights.
Arkham origins was the first Arkham game I played, some people disliked it, but I love it!
I've relistened to this series multiple times and the comment that because it's christmas eve it's the wrong day for christmas dinner anyway always gives me pause. My family always had the big christmas dinner on christmas eve. Christmas day was a nice breakfast and then just gorging on leftovers lol

Revisiting this makes me wish that WB Montreal had made a sequel to Origins instead of Gotham Knights. There are so many things to be explored and developed that the main trilogy didn't, such as Bruce's relationship with his Robins.
The Punler and the Jokester has joined today's episode.
#justiceforchristmasdinner
44:16 Jim's really naive in this game. His boss Loeb and most of the GCPD were corrupt including the SWAT guy Branden who was trying to get the bounty on Batman.
Man, I love you guys. I was JUST wondering yesterday when you'd guys make the next vid and now you're here!
Mayo doesn't have dairy... 51:30
Seeing a new video always makes my day! Thanks for another great episode
This is urinonically my favorite arkham game.
Hearing the lore dump boys explaining rizz to monty is hilarious
Just in time for my shift to start, thanks for helping me through it boys
Batman: Birth by Arkham
Origins? oh wow, i've always wanted to know Batman's Origin story, it's hardly ever explained! It's almost as much a mystery as Spiderman's origin story!
(all kidding aside, i'm not a huge batman fan but these episodes have been greatly enjoyable so far!)
Was Enigma commissioned by Black Mask? I thought he just threw a couple mentions in as a red herring
Finally My Favourite Batman Arkham Game. Also love the Bruce Wayne is Batman jokes 😂😂😂
Oh damn that time of the month already. Let's go lads. Grats on 100k on the main btw Monty
there is no dairy in mayo, its eggs and oil
The one Arkham game I've yet to play. _I regret it each time I hear about it. _*_Maybe this year!_*
Oh look! It's my favorite Batman game! I love this game so much.
19:06 Origins was the only Arkham game that got Bane right.
Another awesome episode. Love you three! ❤
Another excellent episode, y'all!
If the games don't do anything with Jack Ryder and the Creeper before the end of this series I'm going to scream.
If I had a dollar everytime we touch on Batman's origin story in a Batman story, I'd be as rich as Bruce Wayne
Alfred killed the Waynes was the backstory for Owlman the evil Batman of the crime syndicate an alternate reality version of the justice league. He killed the Wayne’s on Evil Bruce Wanes orders and was killed by the cops driving Evil Bruce to hate all who fought crime
Well as always this is comin out way to late for me to watch right now but I'll be back in like 8-10 hours ish am goin to bed now
Yessss new episode let's go!
I really liked the main story of this game as wacky as it is I just wish that the gameplay was more interesting. I think origins would be better off as a movie or two or a tv show than a game
Also more Cockney accents it was surprisingly sensual
Love Lore Dump Friday, best start to the weekend
I will say ... granted everyones reasoning is sound 😅 .... i think Alfred was physically fine for being crushed under rubble, i just think the toll of everything thats happened.
The built up stress of Bruce veing Batman for the past couple years
The extreme stress of tonight so far
Batman /Bruce dying from poison
Alfred lashing out at Bruce, something hes probably never done.

Said Batcave crumbling down ,all of Bruces work potentially crashing down and possibly fear of Wayne manor meeting same fate
All this with Alfreds age i think his heart just gave out more than anything.
Where is spotify upload 😭
There’s no dairy in Mayo lmao
Neal’s got the rizz
Enigma is Riddler.
i need a witcher lore dump
Damn you guys are still gonna do the yakuza series this year right? What a year
Just what I needed to play ffvii rebirth with
I truly wonder if chase will like the spider man or the batman games more 🤔
I was so confused when you said 2 final Arkham games, I kept counting the games, and then I remembered Suicide Squad, are you going to do a Lore Dump on that one? or did you mean Gotham Knights??
Im pretty sure theyre doing arkham blackgate
Can't believe they got THE sonic the hedgehog to voice Batman in this game
What are the other two Arkham games they're covering? I know knight but there's another?
Origins- Blackgate. To be fair I forgot about it before these episodes- Neil
@@LoreDump dope I never even heard of that one. Also it's an honor Mr Caine.

😂 Sooooo good!
Monty nooooo why ruin that Joker is in this at the beginning? 😢
Suicide Squad is horrendous thank you
Sorry to say this but Suicide squad is basically really bad, especially the story and yeah it's already about to die since there's only 200 people left playing
As soon as it was revealed as a live service game there was no hope.
Why’d you spoil joker?😭
Does anyone know Batman's origin story?????
Bitten by a radioactive bat.
Weirdly it didn't give him any superpowers, just sent him a bit strange.
Im enjoying suicide squad, but just as something to kill time not as an engaging story
Does chase is gay? Asking for a friend
