it was a great season. as a German who was looking forward to the World Cup, and who wanted Dortmund to win, it was a bit sad at times, but nonetheless it was a very exciting and enjoyable season with a lot of great football!
This season reinvigorated my lost love for the game. As a child, rooney and United’s name was the earliest memory I have of football (2009-2011) and ever since then I would be on and off randomly only showing some interest in the game when finals for the major competitions or leagues were happening and even then I would only watch highlights but never care about the journey of teams through seasons or individual performances that weren’t Messi and Ronaldo. All in all very disconnected since the late 2000’s Rooney era. I would only show great care for the World Cup every 4 years but this world cup pulled my attention back due to how exciting singular performances and future talents were. I genuinely got pulled back to watching a football season over a decade later and Erling Haaland gave me that excitement and awe Rooney did back in 2009 and early 2010’s.
This video was 70% about bottlers, I really wanted more about man city and man utd and the FA cup also more time given on over achievers like aston villa, and more on brighton and their young talents, barca and ofcourse the treble winners even though you might be sad about it, also julian alvarez had the most impressive season in football history, where is that! I know that you've already done videos about, it but this is the most exciting mid season i've seen in a long time not just in the world cup but also in the leagues, its okay to revisit it, a lot has happened this season and i expected this season's review to be 70 min long, there are a lot of unmentioned and important points Harry Kane's incredible season needed more time, Arsenal's run in every competition but the PL wasn't mentioned, and just so much interesting points. I think a part 2 is necessary, focusing more on individuals and more on clubs like Leicester city and Hertha Berlin. We need to appreciate seasons like these, they don't happen very often
I actually recommend looking back on the Eredivisie season as well, this season was insane with big drama at Ajax, late season drama at PSV and an insane Feyenoord side
Would you also make a vid like this about some of the other competitions in Europe? I feel like the Dutch, Portuguese and perhaps Belgian leagues also are pretty interesting to talk about
Can't believe it's been 3 years/seasons of videos so quickly. The City Treble + 3 league titles in a row was a very painful end to this season as a Manchester United Fan. This season was the first time I watched football and it was one of the best decisions I made. Never liked football until recently when I started watching because of Haaland and eventually for Man City only to witness Messi and Argentina win the world cup, Arsenal/Dortmund bottling the league, Napoli winning the league, Haaland break records, so many legends either leaving Europe or retiring, Messi choosing to play in my home country 🇺🇸 and City winning the treble. What a year
The winter world cup literally broke the season in many countries.. we had a weak Bayern Munich, weak PSG, weak Real (so that Barca, whos squad looked like a construction site, could easily win the title), a quite surprising champion in Italy etc. It was noticeable that the teams with many internationals were not at 100%.. next season will be better for sure 👍🏻
In my country Greece, Panathinaikos when the WC break happened he was 12 points clear off second place and undefeated and after the break they lost all momentum and ended up losing the league to AEK. That was Panathinaikos only and most serious chance of winning the league in 13 years lol
I was surprised to see no love for Villa and Unai Emery's performance there, but this is still impressively complete and included a lot of things that I forgot! As a West Ham and Dortmund fan they may cancel each other out, but I had a lot of fun regardless.
I cryed like little box after watching video about Zlatan retiring. It was most emotional moment in this season, for me this is more sad than Messi and Ronaldo quiting european football
Let's also not forgot that the MAJORITY of clubs in the Premier League fired and hired a new manager this season, with 3 going through more than 2 managers. And all three of the relegated sides did this, but it couldn't save them. Absolute insanity.
I’ve always liked football but This season is what made me really get into the history this season is the reason I became an arsenal fan this season gave me a lot of fun memories
Next year is the season where we can see how things truly shape up. Bc of the world cup, so many things got rushed in the beginning and shaped how people see the players and teams after it
As a Liverpool fan this season was humbling, but it had good moments spread in between for sure, needless to say the best being 7-0 against our biggest rivals. The start of the season was horrible, but we finished it going 11 unbeaten. I think with good recruitment we’re right back up there again next year. We still have, in my opinion, the best manager in the world (hard to argue with pep after a treble but I personally think success with Dortmund and Liverpool is more impressive than Bayern and City).
Re: United's season - It was honestly pretty good.l all things considered. They lost the first two to Brighton and Brentford, but those teams turned out to be pretty strong. These were also Ten Hag's first two games in charge, it's not totally ridiculous to lose a couple of games while everyone's getting to grips with a new team/manager. They lost 7-0 to Liverpool which is inexcusable, but losing 6-3 to this Man City team isn't beyond understanding, City are just so strong. Not a United fan, but I think United fans have a case for cautious optimism next season. The Liverpool result was the only really damning one imo.
Other than Italy, this was a bad season. Bayern won 11 in a row, a state owned club won a treble, psg won Ligue 1, and barca with the shit they do won La Liga. Props to Napoli for that run, that was amazing.
I’m from England and I’m just a general sports fan and can I say, WHAT. A. YEAR. F1 is seeing the dominance of Max Verstappen (as much as I don’t like it lol), of course Football has been amazing with the City treble (I prefer United way more but gotta give credit where it’s due), the story of Napoli and the transfer rumours through January and recently!! Basketball has also been quality, with Denver winning their first title ever and the Heat making the Finals (although they beat my Celtics sadly). Sports has been craaaaazy good this year. The WC was also great but do I need to say more?
Overall I think the season was pretty good, except the CL which was boring imo. League football was good overall, it just had a very disappointing ending. Bundesliga had a title race for the first time in ages, arsenal were looking like serious title contenders for a long time and Ligue 1 actually got a lot closer at the end than you'd expect too. So altogether, not great, not terrible And as always, banger of a video man
I thought exactly the same. The leagues have good races or fresh winner/contenders. But the UCL is quite boring. There's literally no comeback in the second leg. Since the quarter, all the teams that won the first leg went through. Last season and 18/19 was much more exciting in that regard
@@bronzy9826 Yes indeed. But, when was the last time UCL final was a good game with tight score? 12/13 I think? Final were generally boring and tight 1-0 or 1 team (Madrid or Barca generally) dominating their opponent. Semifinals were more often than not the best matches of UCL, or most tournaments really. Very rarely we got 3-3 like last World Cup
Turns out Tuchel and Conte were foghting sbout who's owner was worse! Jokes aside, would have loved if you had mentioned Arsenal clowning Tottenham in both derbies this season which was the 1st time a team has won away in the NLD in a while.
Rest in Peace, in Peace?

In my country Greece, Panathinaikos when the WC break happened he was 12 points clear off second place and undefeated and after the break they lost all momentum and ended up losing the league to AEK. That was Panathinaikos only and most serious chance of winning the league in 13 years lol
great video, kept me on my chair the whole video.
I was surprised to see no love for Villa and Unai Emery's performance there, but this is still impressively complete and included a lot of things that I forgot! As a West Ham and Dortmund fan they may cancel each other out, but I had a lot of fun regardless.
Great video.more please!!!
You also came a long way too my Friend, Great video once again. Wish you well cant wsit for you videos Next Season❤❤❤

This season was amazing and the world cup simply made it better just so good
I cryed like little box after watching video about Zlatan retiring. It was most emotional moment in this season, for me this is more sad than Messi and Ronaldo quiting european football
GET A LIFE DUDE
I’m a PSG fan… you have no idea how much pain i felt when PSG got knocked out of the Champions League after missing an open goal
Newcastle & Chelsea pulled the perfect Freaky Friday
Great opening! Argentina's World Cup run is probably the best I'll ever see.
Let's also not forgot that the MAJORITY of clubs in the Premier League fired and hired a new manager this season, with 3 going through more than 2 managers. And all three of the relegated sides did this, but it couldn't save them. Absolute insanity.
8:03 Haaland prove he can farm the whole continent 😂😂😂😂
those transitions where smoooth ngl
Love this video
Yo, you actually represented Uganda with that short video of the Lord Mayor of the Capital City being squeezed.
Been waiting for this🎉
As a german fan, Bayern winning the league, Leipzig the DFB Pokal and City the champions league.. its basically the worst possible outcome in history
Great video.
I’ve always liked football but This season is what made me really get into the history this season is the reason I became an arsenal fan this season gave me a lot of fun memories
This guy's memes always hits the right spot😂😂 1:30 especially..
Banger recap
100% agree with the Espanyol fans charging the pitch. You don't disrespect your local rivals like that in their own stadium and not expect a reaction.
24:36 OBO 😂 THE GOAT
Next year is the season where we can see how things truly shape up. Bc of the world cup, so many things got rushed in the beginning and shaped how people see the players and teams after it
Finally a video!
Manchester city winning the treble wasn't talked about enough.
Thanks for your amazing videos, they made this football season even better
As a Liverpool fan this season was humbling, but it had good moments spread in between for sure, needless to say the best being 7-0 against our biggest rivals. The start of the season was horrible, but we finished it going 11 unbeaten. I think with good recruitment we’re right back up there again next year. We still have, in my opinion, the best manager in the world (hard to argue with pep after a treble but I personally think success with Dortmund and Liverpool is more impressive than Bayern and City).
Tbh waiting for this video since the UCL final 😍😍
what a year this one was, hope to see you all next season!
Props to Napoli for that run, that was amazing.
ffs i forgot.. Red Bull won the german cup aswell ((
speaking of tears - proceeds to show Bundesliga logo, i absolutely love this guy 😂 ps- Dortmund booting that last match was just sad
where did you find this ugandan clip? 🤣😂😂. That is our capital city mayor.... legendary just
Watching from Uganda East Africa. I'm so excited by the meme at 1.35s.😂 That's the mayor of our city Kampala.(unfairly arrested)
Saw Messi win the world cup and pep win the treble again so I'd say best season of my life.
😂that meme of Nkunku to Chelsea blends so well with the real situation😅😅
The best match of the season was Brighton vs Man City...
And Brentford beat City twice ... What a season!!!
So altogether, not great, not terrible
And as always, banger of a video man
I thought exactly the same. The leagues have good races or fresh winner/contenders. But the UCL is quite boring. There's literally no comeback in the second leg. Since the quarter, all the teams that won the first leg went through. Last season and 18/19 was much more exciting in that regard
The europa league was amazing and more entertaining than the cl imo
@@winstoneerickarema 18/19 was crazy but the final was terrible
@@bronzy9826 Yes indeed. But, when was the last time UCL final was a good game with tight score? 12/13 I think? Final were generally boring and tight 1-0 or 1 team (Madrid or Barca generally) dominating their opponent. Semifinals were more often than not the best matches of UCL, or most tournaments really. Very rarely we got 3-3 like last World Cup
This season was the end of an era with much chaos. But in the end it had to end sadly 😔
Turns out Tuchel and Conte were foghting sbout who's owner was worse! Jokes aside, would have loved if you had mentioned Arsenal clowning Tottenham in both derbies this season which was the 1st time a team has won away in the NLD in a while.
"Also, here's a fidget spinner"😂😂 LOL
Quick side note as a French football fan.
Toulouse won the coupe de France in 1956
Aston Villa did well under Unai Emery, they went from like 17th to 7th under him
Hamburg bottling promotion AGAIN should have definitely been in there
Or Berlin getting relegated.
Feels like an end to an era, while welcoming the new
