This Henry guy made me fell in love with EPL back in 2001, when i started to watch football. Quickly became my favorite player and Arsenal my fav team of all time, y YES I drop tears with that goal in his comeback in Arsenal. From y very personal pov: the best player I’ve ever seen (with Forlan and Suarez since I’m from Uruguay, and hope to add Valverde in that list at the end of his career)
Between the 01/02 and 05/06 seasons, Henry had 183 goals+assists in the Premier League (130 goals + 53 assists in 171 matches, 1.09 (G+A)/90 mins). During that stretch he also won four golden boots, two league titles, and was voted PL’s best player three times. Nobody else has a five year stretch close to that in PL history.
My brother passed in 2014 after being a pro footballer in the early 2000s and Henry was his icon I grew up watching him and can only describe his as poetry in motion on the ball. Whenever I see him, it reminds me of my brother and it makes me smile 🙏🏽🙏🏽
This man was my childhood hero…growing up in arsenal territory I often went to park and scored whilst shouting “VA VA VOOM!” Made me fall in love with the beautiful game. Merci Titi
Great delivery and research. For me it wasn't just what he did, it was how he did it. The combination of such grace and skill, I don't think we'll see that again.

I only seen a glimps of his greatness during my younger days but Damn dude was a beast bro he has the speed, the skill and finess to did it all when played in arsenal it was so exciting to see him play
Henry and Utd are the reason the Prem rapid expansion and all these billion pound TV deals.. he was literally that good.. imo a top 5 striker of all time and I’ve seen some great strikers.. what ppl don’t get that makes Titi that great isn’t the goals.. it’s the assist as a striker.. he revolutionised the striker position by making use of every space on the pitch by dropping wide and deep.. I get chills watching his highlights.. he was robbed in 2003 and 2004 for the ballon dor lol I love nedved and shevchenko but they aren’t on Henrys level at the time and in terms of legacy..
thanks again for a magnificent football vid ! Made by my fav football youtuber :) I really appreciate your work. It sounds so chill, your a calm sounding guy and it leaves me relaxed while and after viewing! Big thanks and greetings from germany
First memory of this beast was when he cooked Liverpool in the second half all by himself, what a monster of a footballer, as Martin Tyler once said “my kids and their kids will know about this guy”
As a Spurs fan, Henry is hands down the best Prem player of all time. And not to mention all he did for the American game moving to Red Bulls in the early 2010s!
I just want to say man, I have been watching your channel for a fair while now and I must say, the way you present, narrate, and how knowledgeable you are about the beautiful game is spellbinding. It really brings me back to a time in the late 90's and mid 00's watching the likes of Henry, Beckham, Ronaldinho, Pires, young Ronaldo and watching these clips and hearing you talk about them is truly amazing. What an experience your videos are. Top class sir.
Thierry Henry, growing up as a French Arsenal fan, is one of my all time favorites. I'm glad to see an episode dedicated to him. I remember back in 2009 when everyone turned their back on him following the Ireland incident, and as a kid, I refused to do the same. Sure, he cheated, but the hate he received went too far. I felt this way ever since.
The ballon d'or back in 2003-2004 was more generally known as the "best continental player" i.e. those who performed well at the euro's, uefa champions league or uefa cup (now europa league). That's why nedved won it in 2003 and deco, for example, came second a year later. Thierry henry came 2nd to zidane and ronaldinho in the actual fifa best player of the world award, which back then was ( as the name suggests ) given to the best player of the world. A few years later fifa and france football combined both awards, which is why during the messi and ronaldo era the "ballon d'or" award was seen as the award given to the best player in the world. Just some background information
Thierry had THE imperious form that subsequently modernised our expectations for EPL forwards to what they are now, post-millennium. We learnt to expect truly world leading forwards to blend artistry with athleticism in a way you couldn’t argue with. He was our poster boy for the quality of the league on an international level. His intelligent team play, particularly on the best EPL left flank we ever saw (Cole, Pires, Henry), was surprisingly his best attribute. For those of us that remember, it was like men against boys when he was out on the field. I don’t think the league was ready for him at that time and since then defences, fitness and tactics improved to cope with the all-encompassing forwards born of the stylistic lineage of R9. Street-ballers who went pro and made us go 🤯 with their distinctive style of winning with personality.
late to this but being able to watch him at new york red bulls in the twilight of his career it really showed just how smart he really was not even to mention how solid he was technically, dude was only in the right spot and always made a good decisions, his attitude as well definitely rubs off onto others. what a player, absolutely unplayable. That goal on his arsenal return really showed how he was in the mls, smart and clinical as ever.
Love the video about this absolute legend, he's the reason I fell in love with the game and why I grew up supporting Arsenal. Also complete cheapshot putting that clip of the return at the end, made me choke up
Great Video as always. Could you do one on the treble winning Bayern Side of 2012/13? Going from loosing all titles in 2012, before they completely demolished the whole Bundesliga unlike anything seen before and the infamous 2013 all German Champions League Final.
I spent my whole Sunday watching your videos. Amazing work. Your analysis, flow and how the videos are structured are top class. You deserve a million subs dude! Keep it up brother!
People tend to forget that Henry was so much more than the stats. He came on and, as an Arsenal fan, you knew magic was going to happen. Henry was bad news, he had the passing, the movement and the intelligence to make something out of nothing.
Bergkamp was what made me support Arsenal, but Henry was the main man. For me the only striker better than him was R9, whereas R9 was the best striker of the mid to late 90s and then got injured, Henry was the best striker for most of the 00's and was practically unplayable from 2002-2006, really should have won 1 if not 2 ballon d'ors IMO like you said (2006 he was close too). Look at his G+A contributions per season and his consistency was incredible, he set the consistency standards before CR7 and Messi took it to ridiculous levels. I'm sure there was no one doing it season in season out like he did not just for 2, 3 or 4 seasons but he was doing it for nearly every season of the 00's (like you said he was injury hit in 2006-07). He had swagger, not overconfidence like CR7, and was actually quite humble too.
Love Bergkamp too, and yes, Henry was the Complete Forward before the term was even invented~! R9 was the best though, no doubt. In my humble opinion, CR7 and Messi merely copied R9's abilities (and needed their teams to play for them, for them to get numbers for the sake of numbers, i mean, legacies ... Messi truly became a team player only in recent years, and was promptly rewarded with a WC, finally. People always forget that football is a TEAM sport, sigh ...) Anyway, this is a Henry video, so ... yeah. Elegant, stylist. Perhaps hanging out with Bergkamp helps in this, ha. 😅
Hahahahahahahahaha sorry about the hip... My guy you are brilliant at these. I am no football fan but you put these videos together so well i have been stuck on your channel since Friday. Keep up the great work
CAN I LIKE THIS VIDEO MORE THAN ONCE?? 🔥🔥 The GOAT!! I watched one Arsenal Game late 2004 and I was like "Yes! This is the team I'm supporting" Because of the King 🇨🇵
Henry is who and what really got me into football and of course my decision to support Arsenal. It was painful when he left for Barcelona but to be honest he was past his best and had Eduardo not had his leg turned into a slinky we really should've won the league. Anyways.. I love your videos dude. You're a breath of fresh air
For me personally, Thierry Henry is the best and most complete striker the world has ever seen. It was always a symphony to watch him play football. A living legend ☝️😍
Facts! A striker’s job is to score goals, if not, assisting/contributing to goal! Goals (Highest goal ratio till this day)✅ Assists (PL record still to this day)✅ He’s won everything accept the Balon D’or! 🐐
One of the reason why I love the EPL and started following it. When you become a hero, life will also make you a villain. The latter is instill culture psychology which is a larger issue overall. I wished you played some of his iconic goals, but guessing IP from EPL might be tricky. Good video nevertheless
Remembered once when charging at full speed with the defender tracking him on the left flank, suddenly he stopped and flicked the ball up with his right foot. The defender was also at full speed and cannot brake, haha, and ran pass Henry ... with that small space, Henry *did a 360 turn* and volley-ed the ball into goal, with the SAME RIGHT FOOT~! Can you imagine that?! Damn~!
I still can’t believe I was at his return game vs Leeds. I’m not even an Arsenal fan but got some free tickets from a family member who couldn’t make it so went on a whim and ended up witnessing history. Still shocks me every time I see it makes me just wonder how lucky that was to witness 😂.
Henry was the first player I had seen that played the inverted winger / wide striker role successfully. I'm sure there was other plays that had played this role way before him, but I believe he revolutionised this position and popularised it in the modern game. It was then taken to an absolute GOAT level by Messi and Ronaldo, who similarly, weren't traditional strikers, but they played as wide forwards.
Sup bro. Great video on an absolute legend! I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I think a video on any of the invincible starting XI will be worth watching. Ireland needs to calm down 😂🤣, these things happen, and it totally sucks when your team is on receiving end. Honesty isn't a top priority in football. For the most part, players are incentivised towards the contrary, 3 points over Everything. PS. We never called Tinashe "Henry" back in the day, even with teenage hips. Maybe "Nashy" sounds like Henry from across the pitch. Just putting it out there. 🙂
I'll say it again. All those forwards before VAR era have my utmost respect. Those guys had to get tackled back and kicked all over then produce magic to score.
@@hiphop_stuff2083 At what point did I take anything away from what Nedved did, he just didn’t do better than Henry that season. Football was just too corrupted by Italians at the time; for Henry to get a fair shout. But you might be too young to know that.

People talk about CR7 and Messi nowadays, conveniently forgetting that football is a TEAM sport. And yes, while Henry hates to be dropped in Arsenal, ha, he is also a team player. A very, very good team player who just happened to be the main man as well. Love how he said he loves playing with Bergkamp too. Shows that he appreciates and is grateful to fellow colleagues. A legend, man.
~from a Blackburn supporter
@@Chengyuan79 well said, thank you. Not spoken to a Rovers Fan in awhile, how are things looking for you guys?
I was gutted back in the day that you lot couldn't keep Sutton and Shearer together.
They might of actually won more trophies with you guys.
@rik aldridge nah ... Blackburn is ... Blackburn. Hard to go "back" to the Premier League. In all sincerity, Blackburn isn't really a PL club like a Leeds or a Newcastle, so ... there.
And, S&S is long ago. Have to move on. 😅🙏
Coming from a chelsea fan the man was an absolute monster very few players have the class and skill this man possessed one of the greats no doubt
Merci Titi
Even as the rivals icon, can't deny the impact he had. The Henry in the arsenal long sleeve o2 kit with the gloves was just legendary
Great delivery and research. For me it wasn't just what he did, it was how he did it. The combination of such grace and skill, I don't think we'll see that again.
I love every single one of your uploads, as a South African watching your vids and replying to you while you talk funnily enough reminds me of middle school days where all the lyties would debate on prem topics every break and boring tech class. Thanks Tinashe, truly.
I cried when he scored on his return. Damn what a moment in time.
Henry was the player that got me into wanting to play and to try and improve so fun to watch
thanks again for a magnificent football vid ! Made by my fav football youtuber :)
I really appreciate your work. It sounds so chill, your a calm sounding guy and it leaves me relaxed while and after viewing!
Big thanks and greetings from germany
Genuine football talk , you’ve gained a supporter keep killing it bro
It was so great that we got to see him at Barça. One of a kind.
Thank you for this. Henry The return of the King #12 was magic. What is football but life’s best and worst moments compressed into 90 minutes.
So, what you're saying is he was never the best player in the world at any point like people claim because he never even won the FIFA award.
You always deliver dude, keep it up dude your content are AWESOME
Thierry is a class act and a joy to watch in his prime.
late to this but being able to watch him at new york red bulls in the twilight of his career it really showed just how smart he really was not even to mention how solid he was technically, dude was only in the right spot and always made a good decisions, his attitude as well definitely rubs off onto others. what a player, absolutely unplayable. That goal on his arsenal return really showed how he was in the mls, smart and clinical as ever.
Got to meet the guy while he was playing in NYC. Still bring it up as often as I possibly can. Absolute legend.
Excellent presentation skills. thank you Tinashe.
So you took my suggestion into account!! Great video as always.
No matter how much we praise him he will still be underrated.
Favorite athlete of all time.
It was a pleasure to watch him.
I spent my whole Sunday watching your videos. Amazing work. Your analysis, flow and how the videos are structured are top class. You deserve a million subs dude! Keep it up brother!
Literally crying all again when you brought the 2012 clip.
Just wanted to let you know that I just really like what you're doing here. You just seem like a really genuine and nice guy. Love you 😘
The reason I was playing FIFA06, THE Reason I decided to play football. The reason I love football ❤️Thierry Henry himself ❤️
Your channel is the only channel I’ve got notifications set for.
Lot of Irish arsenal fans but some how Henry is still beloved, just goes to show how good he was
Early 2000's, him and Zidane were my fav players!
forever my goat, my whole family are arsenal fans and grew up in the heart of arsenal territory in North London, the man was like a god growing up
People tend to forget that Henry was so much more than the stats. He came on and, as an Arsenal fan, you knew magic was going to happen. Henry was bad news, he had the passing, the movement and the intelligence to make something out of nothing.
Got me into football as a youngster when he was at RBNY. big love for him
Bergkamp was what made me support Arsenal, but Henry was the main man.
People always forget that football is a TEAM sport, sigh ...)
Anyway, this is a Henry video, so ... yeah. Elegant, stylist. Perhaps hanging out with Bergkamp helps in this, ha. 😅
That's a myth. Henry was only the best in England, nowhere else.
If you watch football and don't know who Thierry Henry is you've been living under a rock welcome to sunlight.
Hahahahahahahahaha sorry about the hip... My guy you are brilliant at these. I am no football fan but you put these videos together so well i have been stuck on your channel since Friday.
Keep up the great work
i am very happy for finding this channel really great content
Got ya
Hes the reason why i felt in love with this amazing club, i remember i used to copy him and pires when i played as a kid 🔴⚪️
What an outstanding video. Well done 👏🏻 Henry was truly an incredible player & now legend.
Goals (Highest goal ratio till this day)✅
Assists (PL record still to this day)✅
He’s won everything accept the Balon D’or!
Damn~!
Slowly becoming my favorite football UA-cam channel. Keep up the amazing content!
I still can’t believe I was at his return game vs Leeds. I’m not even an Arsenal fan but got some free tickets from a family member who couldn’t make it so went on a whim and ended up witnessing history. Still shocks me every time I see it makes me just wonder how lucky that was to witness 😂.
From my 10th birthday to today and happily even after will the Henry's jersey cover my wall and be part of my heart. Always my idol
"My buddy Eric did this once."
-Thierry Henry about Eric Cantona, probably.
I wish I could’ve watched Henry while he was playing.
I’m a Gunner cause of this man, almost had the opportunity to meet him when he was playing for NY. Him and Ljungberg were my idols
Thierry Henry and Robert Lewandowski have been the victims of the biggest Ballon d'or robberies 😔
Both these legends deserve it.
Fucking Nedved! How?
@@troipang5108 bcuz you're young and have never seen him play
@@hiphop_stuff2083 what are you on about! The invincible Henry vs Nedved! Stop it
@@troipang5108 imo Henry is better aswell but stop disrespecting Pavel Nedved. He also was a great, great player.
@@hiphop_stuff2083 At what point did I take anything away from what Nedved did, he just didn’t do better than Henry that season. Football was just too corrupted by Italians at the time; for Henry to get a fair shout. But you might be too young to know that.
Great video man. I was/am the US, NY. I saw him play a few Red Bull games This was before I really got into soccer and before I knew his impact on the EPL, This video provides much insight. Thanks for it.
football
@@jakemcnamara3414 lol, I'm American and we have another sport here called football, that is more "handball" than anything. I stand corrected, football it is.
So good that I kept buying him from ny red bulls on fifa he was still class on the game I’m a Man Utd fan and hated how unbelievable he was he scored a few worldies against us that are still unbelievable to watch today
I am grateful that I got to watch him as a youngster, will forever be the king of north London and the gunners
made me cry! i miss this guy!
Man was a beast still love his partnership with Dennis Bergkamp. Hell that henry eto'o messi strike force was still menacing.
