Shoutout to the german league dude. Bayerns dominance sucks but the consistent rejection of foreign investment and commitment to partial fan control is super cool.
@EldenKing7 you should read a bit about leverkusen’s history, it was literally founded by Bayer factory workers over 100 years ago thats why its in the name. you don’t know everything.
Man, ofc the Buli clubs also need money. That doesnt mean we should open our gates to countries like Qatar. You also need to consider what (real) investors want: Profit. That also means increasing ticket prizes and making the game an event
Tbh Heidenheim deserved a shout out or honorable mention at least. In the first season in Bundesliga going to the europa conference league is a big thing to achieve in hindsight that Luton town got relegated
From the start, Luton hardly have any chance to stay. They spend their Championship prize money on renovating their stadium to Premiere League minimum standard.
I got to say, man. As a Texan that did not grow up with soccer (what everyone else calls football), you’re pretty much the only reason I pay any attention to the sport. Great video as always.
I am also an American (great state of arkansas), the only reason I pay attention to the sport is I want to understand what is happening when the USMNT ends up dominating the game
I can't believe my unpaid intern (me) uploaded another video with a sound issue (again, it was me and I'm sorry). I'll make sure he (also me) doesn't do it again. Hope you all enjoy the season review.
As a Brest supporter, this will forever be a season I will fondly remember, the greatest season in the history of our club, and the greatest underdog story in Europe. You can have your Stuttgart, your Girona, your Bologna, but what Brest did, with a fraction of their budget, let alone the budget of a PSG, was amazing. There's a song that was made by a local group, La Lucha Libre, called Red and White. Some of the lyrics read "Brest flies high. Phoenix don't die" That sums up the Brest story. This season has been nothing short of incredible for us, but the bigger journey has been too. We went from the heydays of the 80s, when we were the best team in Brittany and even had the mad story of our president in a legal stand off against the Colombian drug cartel to get a players, to the downfall and return to depths of amateur football in the 90s, to the return to professionalism in the mid 2000s. This is also an unbelievable story. I remember, back in 2013, when the ultras were chanting that our club was now dying as we were in vegetation. Last year, we were bracing for the worst, even after the first few games with Roy. To go from all of that, to Champions League football, it feels so surreal. I was on the verge of tears throughout the final weeks. Broken leg be damned, I jumped up and down for my team this year. Brest da Viken ❤🤍
Klopp (2020) AND Conte (2017) being the only managers to stop Pep's complete dominance of the EPL, since his arrival (2016/17). Not just Klopp. Great roundup and great video 👍
This was the first season I really tuned into, following all the leagues and tournaments, and it was awesome. I live in America, so I never really grew up with the sport, but now I understand why it’s the biggest game in the world. For that reason, I gotta give this season a 10/10
My favourute story of the bundesliga this season was Heidenheim. A super small city makes it to the Bundesliga for the first time ever with no big investor to back them and a player base that is worth way less then any other club and somehow got 8th in the season even though everyboey thought they probably get relegated and now get to play internationaly in the uefa conference league (play offs).
a few mentions outside the top 5: -Netherlands show ajax being at a very bad state this season and psv won the league and feyenord the cup -Belgium show club brugge winning the league again with their weird system -Greece show olympiakos (who ended 3rd in the league) win the conference league and youth league this year meanwhile paok won the league and panathinaikos the cup -Turkey had the craziest title race this year with the 3rd in the league being closer to relegation than 2nd, galatasaray won it with 102 points and a 3 point difference from fener who ended the season at 99 points meanwhile besiktas won the cup -Scotland show celtic win the double -Austria show saluzburg's dominance come to an end with sturm graz winning the league
Pretty sure Chelsea didn't make it to the Europa league because Man United got their spot from winning the fa cup. It's gonna be hilarious to see Chelsea's squad being more expensive than everyone else in the conference league combined (and still somehow losing)
City will be back. They played like ass and still dominated possession and chances against Madrid. These 2 titans of current club football will meet again next season
Wolves fan in the US here. This season was rough when it came to VAR. If you totaled up the points we missed out on (that actually later came with official apologies for incorrect calls) we would have been ahead up to 10 points of where we ended up. Hopefully the officiating is better next season.
