Oh boy.😮 I had dear in headlights feel when I actually started a practice block! But with your great explanation, and rewind, I Got it. Thanks!
I know this sunshine quilt is going to be a showstopper ! Can’t wait to see it finished!
I’m so glad I’m sick on the couch. I totally forgot about this month. Thanks Laura for doing this fun class!😊
Thank you. The template isn’t in the description, but I’ll check back for it later. I am liking the components so far!!

Oh my. April was so busy, I'm just working on Tham now. Have 12 more to do. Then on to May. Yeah. Am really enjoying this project so far. Thanks Laura for the tutorial. Your instructions are great
Plus 8 more. Lol
This is great because it's basically a paper piecing without the paper. If you would have said, hey we're going to paper piece, I would have said YIKES! But you explained this one SO WELL, I think I can do it! And then maybe my fear of paper piecing might not be so bad since this was my "practice". :). Thanks Laura!!
Fab instructions as always. Thank you!
Such great methods!
This is turning out beautiful. Thanks Laura. Hugs, Chel 🌸
Thanks Laura, you make it look so easy as usual
Thank you for the template! I’m having so much fun with this sew along!
To anyone having as much trouble with this block as I had, draft a pattern on graph paper for FPP. I started with a 4.5” ruler, drew 4” block inside and the drew lines from center top to each corner. I took a photo but don’t see an option to add it. It looks great and was so easy.
I might try this too….. I don’t know why this seems so complicated. I thought it was just me but was glad to see another person having the same problem….lol! Misery loves company!
I wish I had had a square bigger than 4.5” but they were already cut. A larger size would have been easier to work with.
Question? I joined the club, picked the scrappy fabric from my stash, cut them to size, choose two colours of what could be the contrasting fabric..picked the orange one..great.. I’ve discovered I’m a bit short on the orange and the other fabric is gone.Is it important that this contrast fabric be all the same or can I mix in other orange fabric… same contrast colour but a different print. I’m loving this mystery 😅
Personally, I would say as long as the "new" fabric is in the same colour range (in your case orange) and not something completely different (e.g. purple) you should be fine. I guess it just will look a bit more scrappy as intended. It also might look fantastic, by using all kinds of different hues, for example with the orange: peach, soft red etc.
As I prefer some kind of regularity, I would suggest, depending on the block and the amount of fabric you have to add, that you either use the same fabric in a single block or use the 2 different fabrics always in the same place (like for todays part: all the right parts in fabric 1 and all the left parts in fabric 2).
😀
Could I use a tri rec ruler to make this block? thank you
Is this the same as the Tri Rectangle ruler?
Hi, I was watching an older video on your sun bonnet sue and I was unable to get the pattern is their another way to the page is not coming up. Also I wanted to know the name or video of the quilt behind you. Thank you for all your help
Template ? What is the final size should they be.
The final size is the size of the original background rectangle; it doesn't change as you cut the triangle overlap off to the size of the background/white rectangle.
Brain freeze thanks

Am I the only one questioning the amount of triangles we end up with? The 3” x 6 1/2” contrast fabric from which we cut 52 pieces is cut in half diagonally leaving a total of 104 triangles. Same with the scrappy rectangles of same size but we go from 8 pieces to 16. Is this correct? Do we use the extra fabric later?
