For example some women use roasting guys as a way of develping comfort so if you're not roasting them back, you are showing that you're not part of her tribe.

Guys, you can also shit-test a girl with her own shit-tests, in the martial arts or boomerang style. You "reverse" it to throw it back at her.
For example, if she says "Do you say this to all the girls ?", you can say "What do you mean exactly by that ?" ... and then she has to explain and clarify herself. She wanted to put you on the spot, and now she is on the spot ...
Asking a girl to explain or clarify what she said is usable on a good number of shit-tests and she will find herself somewhat embarassed to answer, with her shit-test "deflated" and "backfiring" on her. She now has to qualify herself.
Or if she says, as in one of Todd's infield (with a high status woman), "Am I the last ditch effort of the night ?", you can say "Wow, you don't give yourself a lot of value ; I thought you would have a higher opinion of yourself than that ...".
Or with "Do you do this to all the girls ?", you can reply in the same way "Wow, you think of yourself just as "another girl" (that's sort of what she implied ...). I thought you would have a higher estime of yourself than that ... (Then you can add "You're a pretty girl, come on !..." to add value and set a positive on your part).
As woman shit-tests come often from insecurity on their part, you can use this to your advantage like in this last example. You gain back the dominant position and she has to qualify or find an "excuse" for what she said. It also implies in her eyes that you are sensitive to her insecurities, and this will be a good point for you.
By doing these things (reverse or "backfiring" style), you show you're not an "easy guy" and that the girl has to be careful to what she throws at you. You will gain respect in her eyes.
But of course, you have to be congruent in the rest of the interaction. You can't throw these "out of the blue" if there is no minimum masculine frame around it.
