I owned a 63 1600 project for a few years. I loved that car. I was blessed by being able to drive a 1960 Veloce at the tail end of the nineties and fell in love all over again.
Car designers, please bring back painted metal dashboards! The safety reasons that killed them off no longer apply when we have legally-mandated wearing of seat-belts and airbags with everything. Nothing appeals as much as a body-coloured fascia with big, round, Veglia instruments.
The concession to radials is forgivable, but why the red painted rocker covers ! Otherwise a great example of this beautiful car. The Giulietta actually didn't seem to need a wash, maybe just a dust-off, plus I carefully blow-dry my classics after washing - the less water trapped into nooks and crannies the better.
