Everyone that has one says it’s one of the best driving experiences gear box is awesome I haven’t driven one but watched reviews going into this one and how the owners just loved these =)
@@What.its.like. I love how thorough your research is! Could be a translation error Italian/English. My friend bought a Chinese motorcycle, and the owners manual was hilarious, the throttle was labeled “loudness leaver” for instance.
Yeah I try to be thorough each episode is designed if you’re looking to get that particular car what that car is like =) Alfa Romeo owners help me out with that one of the group members of the Alfa club was able to give me that print out of the button switches and knobs. But I agree I think it was a translation issue because that is the universal logo for choke
The car is an abnormale. It had a single carb stock. This is not a Veloce but has had Weber carbs installed. I owned a 1600 cc 101 series Giulia for a few years. Not to be confused with a 105 series Giulia 1600. It had a single solex carb and a five speed transmission. I got to drive a 1960 Sprint Veloce a few times in the late nineties. Loved it.Neat cars.
Thank you so much for the insight these cars are super confusing if you’re on the outside looking in the engine is it correct to the car the owner told me it has a different engine in it I wasn’t entirely sure what engine it was he told me but I forget what specs he said so I just used the information on what is supposed to be in there
@@What.its.like. The engines pretty much fit most models whether it’s 1300, 1600, 1750, or 2000. It’s not uncommon to put in a larger engine or upgrade to webers. Nowadays even European Twin Spark motors are being used.
The Giulietta Berlina wasn't made for the US market. The proportion were for small European streets on focus. So is hidious on the eye of the beholder. I've got a fullsize US Landyacht here in Germany. That is sometimes a battle on the road to get it through different locations. And sometimes you can't find a spot to park or store a car of this size. And we talk here about a 1957 Plymouth Plaza, so it is by far not the biggest car on the road back then.
Great review- they are incredible cars for their era, still fine in traffic now which for a 60+ year old is fantastic. It's italian, so pronounced- Jee-ooly-ett...A!
Thank you so much for that. Correction, my friends Dad owns the car in the video and he was just at a car show yesterday. It was really cool to see the car in pictures. =)
The grille is similar to the Edsel. The newer sedans were the basis of the Dodge Dart of the early 2000s . Chrysler used the same basic platform of this car. Since Fiat had taken Chrysler over.
@@What.its.like. I live near Belvidere Illinois where the Dodge Dart was built. When Chrysler introduced the new Dart the president of Fiat was there to see the first ones off the assembly line. Chrysler has since discontinued the Dart and the Belvidere plant is now used to build the Jeep Cherokee.
The car is piccola. Or as the French say petite. Right down to the ashtray and pedals. it's lovely. I must see the sedan by comparison. I here the Low Down where I work in a Cajun seafood restaurant quite often. Alfa Romeo a success story of how to stay relevant to the times and survive. Auto industry NOT easy just like amusement park industry.
Love the groove boz scaggs low down brings what better line put money on the table drive off the lot. One of the most beautiful cars of all time 1939 6c coupe

I owned a 62 version of this when I was stationed in Italy. It was red, fast and fun!
Awesome story this car is so cool =)
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder !
All cars from 1959 have their own beauty ?
1850lbs that’s a light car
I know what it’s like. It’s the car I learned to drive a stick in. It’s close to heaven.

That engine looks very similar to the duel cam 4 cyl. engine that Fiat used during the mid to late 60's. Thanks, Jay...Keep the videos coming!
It sort of does =)
Cool ride , 30 years ago seen one lol
This car is so cool =)
Fantastico Euro retro! 😎🤭🤘 I love the styling and the interior, I imagine it would be a great drive in it!
I think it would be a blast to drive
That “accelerator knob” is the choke, universal picture of a choke.
I thought the same but I have a copied page of the owners manual and that what the owners manual says

I didn’t make that connection be your right it totally is =) what gets me is some cars are allowed to design cars like that and other cars can’t

Beautiful car. May I ask how tall are you? Looked a bit too cozy. Was the seat the full way back?
I’m 6 foot 2 I didn’t get in the back seat the opening was small I should have tho
Dude...please..JU-LI-Et-AH. The later car (1600) is a Giulia. Where do you get Ju-LI-ett?
.
LOL, Typical European sports car rear seat so you won't have to pay 2-seater car insurance rates!
