We actually know from the novelization that Godzilla was on Odo Island for food. He had a deal with the locals where he drags up deep sea fish and they leave sacrifices of livestock for him. It's likely that he was looking for the sacrifice when the light of the tower scared him, causing him to lash out
@@ShatteredIce It actually makes sense that Gojira doesn't eat people. If the locals provide him with their livestock, then Gojira is an animal that kills not for survival but sport. . . But after watching that scene on the island, it's also safe to assume that he kills out of spite. Pure spite. Getting irradiated and mutating made him an undying spiteful animal. . . Scary, honestly.
24:15 Minor Correction, that was the IJN Takao, a Japanese Heavy Cruiser, it's nowhere near the firepower that a proper Japanese Battleship would be able to dish out. Sure, it has 10 203mm Guns, which were the staple of Heavy Cruisers in World War Two. But if we want to have Battleships, the only Japanese Battleship would've been the IJN Nagato, one of the members of the Big Seven Battleships pre-WW2, sporting the 410mm Battleship Guns alongside her sister ship, Mutsu, which was sunk in WW2. Sadly, 1946 Bikini Atoll's Nuclear Detonation rendered captured warships into radiating masses of shipwreck, including Nagato, which wasn't recovered as she was turned into a Target ship. If Nagato wasn't in Bikini Atoll, the Japanese Navy would have two Capital Ships (Major Surface Combatants, which include Battleships, Battlecruisers, Heavy Cruisers and Aircraft Carriers) to combat Godzilla with. 40:35 Another mistake, it wasn't secretly installed, Tachibana discovered the Ejection Seat design when he was working on the plane. I guess it is supposed to be a staple as Interceptor pilots would be much more useful alive than dead, compared to Kamikaze pilots who didn't need Ejection seats as they would be expected to maneuver themselves to properly hit their targets. So as much as it is poetic, it wasn't secretly installed as a way of forgiveness, telling him about it, however, was the forgiveness. :v
In the novelization it was said that godzilla pre mutations actually have even better regeneration, that was how he managed to survive the nuclear testing
Awesome Godzilla movie, almost a origin story, horrifying because it was world war and limited tech to defeat it's enhanced anatomy, though the shin Godzilla is much terrifyinf
Meanwhile Hollywood has 20 times the budget and a lot of what they produce has shallow, badly written characters nobody cares about. Even in shows. We feel bad for him. He doesn't give up. We respect that. She, the woman, also lost everything. She takes care of a baby, that isn't hers. That's amazing. She is a great, kind person. She is a strong character, he helps her, both struggle, but they make it. They don't give up. Even the older woman, that blames him, is touched by her, and gives her the last rice she has. Those bombs will not have impact fuses and would be armor piercing bombs on a delay fuse so they can punch through a ship's deck armor and detonate where the juicy stuff is. A rifle will not detonate those bombs. The technicians firing was probably due to them being trained to just keep on firing until either they or what they're shooting at is dead (or that idea got drilled into their heads) since when humans are stressed and panicking, they tend to fall back to what they trained for or their muscle memory. I actually saw this 3 times, 2 times in late 2023 and then 1 time when it arrived on Netflix a few months ago, and it was still awesome, plus the way Godzilla's dorsal plates rise up when glowing and then forcefully at the same time go back down was awesome to see. I am looking forward to seeing where the Sequel goes from here as there are definitely questions that definitely need answering, hopefully the cast return for the next film
The zero was equiped for a kamikaze mission so it would have a very small amount of ammo but packed with Fuel And explosives plus it would have no armor😅

Did this man say he thought of some solution to kill Godzilla with liquid nitrogen not remembering that he did shin Godzilla with that being the ending
There are other means than bombs here. Explosive decompression could work. However the regeneration factor may still be in Godzilla's favor here. Try it anyway.
Godzilla can survive by a remaining cell. Nothing but cellular level attacks can kill him. Meaning all cells must be destroyed at once by a molecular or cellular level attack.
The rapid decompression thing doesn't make any sense. Sure, deep sea animals can have issues with being brought to the surface quickly BUT that's because they live down there and are acclimatised to that pressure. Godzilla is acclimatised to the surface so being dragged deep will hurt him but bringing him up before he has acclimatised to the deep pressure will actually help him recover. Also he isn't breathing air down there so he wouldn't pop like a balloon. That only happens to other air breathers (like us) if we are breathing air while under water (like from a SCUBA tank) because the extra air expands more than our lung capacity when we come up. That is why free divers can go super deep but not have to worry about how quickly they come up and don't need to let air out of their lungs as it expands.
Mostly true, but, Godzilla would probably have to have MASSIVE buoyancy control (as in taking in air and storing it in lungs or a floatation sack of some kind) in order to swim the way he does, which he would have likely tried to fill on his way down to try and rise back to the surface. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter because it's not like the plan is the thing to finish him off anyway.
@@hornneddemon9643 he would have to make more air somehow while underwater for that to apply. If not, the size of the air sack/lung just shrinks when he goes down and inflates as he rises back to the size it was before he sank (it is the same amount of air molecules shrinking or increasing in size but never getting larger than what they were at the surface). In my opinion it is important to my investment in the story but I can absolutely understand why others would not care (I care mainly because the ending action scene happens because a bunch of what are portrayed as very smart people spend time formulating a really ingenious plan and the foundation of that plan is wrong). I know it's just a movie but I can't help see the issue.
