Fighting Superman villains while not Superman....imo a mistake...he was Superman without the costume before he was an adult fighting prime Superman villains.... It gets a bit too ridiculous timeline wise...
Love that someone finally acknowledges that Tom's portrayal is the physically strongest live action Superman. Throws a planet the size of Saturn (the size fluctuated each time it was shown on screen. It touching Earth made it seem like it was smaller than Earth but from a space shot, it was similar to Saturn) out of our solar system without breaking a sweat. And we can assume since it was a planet guided by an entity, that entity was likely pushing back, so who knows just how more difficult that may have been (but that's speculation). Most tribulations that he went through were more mind over matter in the series. A lot of physical fights happened, yes, but many could have been stopped before they happened or concluded sooner if Clark thought them through more, which he often didn't because he wasn't sure of himself and was afraid of accepting his alien heritage (he was younger, less experience, etc). Him fully accepting himself at the end just revealed what was always there. That makes him my favorite Superman. Also, Tyler has the character mannerisms down, but I honestly just can't get into him as Superman because he doesn't have the physical presence imo.

The scariest Clark has ever been was when he was cut by silver kryptonite and became paranoid of every little thing. He could've strangled Lana or killed anyone who he even thought was against him as he was hallucinating like crazy. Brainiac could've let him loose and Clark could've eventually destroyed the planet out of fear of everyone and everything which Brainiac wanted in the first place, idk why he needed to cure him to gain his trust. I have lot of love for this show, it did some things exactly right, some beautifully executed, some underwhelming, some over the top and some mistakes along the way, but an overall fun ride which several other TV shows feared and failed to do. It's nostalgic, it's charming and it set a standard for future shows which still hit and miss to this day but none could live up to it as a complete package which Smallville was in its essence.
Welling acted his absolute chops off in that episode, season 5, 6, and 7 was peak smallville, the kryptonian episodes and saga were just awesome, I mean it's superman, that's what we all came for right? Lol.
I still quote this series, by lex Luther's dad Within the babbles of a madman, there but a sliver of truth. As a child this one stuck out to me. This show is great. Have you seen the podcast where the the main characters go through the show with each episode?
And one more thing, Smallville gave us so many great songs! I grieve by Peter Gabriel, Everything by Lifehouse and many, many more! Soundtrack was awesoeme!
Love your videos brother, so glad the algo brought me. Teen wolf video incoming? Think you mentioned that in this video or the quiet place one, been chain watching
I don’t see any problem with watching Teen Wolf. It’s decent and you are so right, if you seen Tyler in that you’d know that he’d make a good Superman. W take.
One of the many reasons I love Smallville is because Clark's characters stays true to who Superman is. He always puts the needs of others before himself. Welling juggled well between the carring side of SM and his serious, strong and assertive side as well as the character gets older. Smallville is wonderful because we see how superman actually BECOMES superman. He wasn't born knowing what to do. He learns just like we do but in this imperfect, learning stage they were still able to retaine that image of becon of hope and be the man that well all SHOULD be. Thats why Superman is Superman. The leader of the JL, why all the heros looks up to him, hell why he is a character still alive today since the 1930. He represents who humanity SHOULD be. It resinates somewhere deep within us. Smallville did a great job giving justice to this great character 👏🏽
You're not wrong, man, lol.. You made a lot of good points about Smallville. I loved the show and you're right. Seasons 1-5 were great. But after awhile, it did get weird. Out of all the CW shows that came and went, Smallville and Arrow are my top two faves. Supergirl was alright, and most of The Flash was entertaining, but for him being The Flash, he should have easily defeated 90% of his villains with ease, like come on man! You're the Flash, you can literally run faster than the speed of sound. But I miss Tom Welling's Clark Kent/Superman persona. He was one of the OG's in live action.
This show was great. I really enjoyed it. Have every season on dvd. The whole cast was great. I had such a huge crush on Lana Lang. Man was she smokin hot. Something about her. Of course Erica Durance was hot too but Lana was thee chick. Great memories of going to my mom's house to watch the show before she passed. Good stuff bro!
I loved this show, but it never sat right with me how the Clark/Lois/Lana love triangle went down. Lois is Clark's soul mate, but in the end he only went with Lois because he was forced to lose Lana. It would have been better if he willingly chose Lois over Lana in my opinion
Watching this vid brought me back. Grew up watching Smallville and you made me want to watch it again. I agree with basically everything you said except Jor-El being godlike. Yes he essentially appears like a god but it is important to keep in mind just how ridiculously advanced Kryptonian civilization was. The tech he has access to essentially looks like magic because of how advanced it is. Bringing people back from the dead is not even ridiculous when you think about it. Maybe he has the Kryptonian equivalent of nanites in Clark's body that serves as a constant backup to his memories or something so that when he dies he just fixes the body then uploads the memories back into the healed brain. Ofc we do have the issue with how Krypton was even destroyed with how advanced their tech was but that is another can of worms entirely that keeps changing with the different universes. I think Smallville was the only Superman story where we really see how ridiculous Kryptons tech was because it seemed to me they really tried to think things through and show us the insanity of things that a civilization that advanced could do. The comics and other media always fail spectacularly at this exact point where we get super villains from Earth that can easily do things just as amazing or more so than the tech Superman have access to there, somehow. Here at least they tried to show us the sheer gap that a type 0 civilization like ours would have with Krypton that was at least a type 2 civilization, quite possibly a type 3 as they had started to expand on a galactic scale in most media but then they always withdraw back to Krypton for whatever reason where it is never explained how they manage to get that many people onto 1 planet. There is also at least 1 offshoot civilization with same/similar power I cant be bothered to look up. I do agree with everything else you said about him.
Smallville red kryptonite Clark was the crashout version of Bully Maguire and I noticed every time he goes red kryptonite mode he switches to the black leather jacket, If Tom Welling ever plays Superman again I hope he actually wears the Superman suit this time since he said in one of his videos that he's open to it now because of his kid, It doesn't feel right seeing all the Superman actors all wearing their respective suits while Tom is the only one wearing regular clothes or the blur coat or that damn red jacket blue shirt combo that he constantly wore throughout most of the show Clark and Lana were fine in the first 3 seasons but in the later seasons they started getting toxic and abusive and in real life if that happened to me I would not have put up with that especially for as long as Clark did because a GF is one thing but marriage? Hell no I would have been moved on as Clark should have since in season 6 I started to feel like Clark was obsessed with Lana especially when Lana started dating Lex almost like the writers did that just to f*ck with Clark all while you got Lois Lane right there the entire time slowly being built up as Clark's endgame love interest and the minute season 4 introduced Lois Lane I knew Clark and Lana were cooked, I didn't like it when Lana came back in the later seasons just to c*ck block Clark and Lois right when Clark and Lois were finally about to share their first kiss, It started to feel like the writers didn't know what to do with Lana Btw yeah Erica as Lois is the GOAT Lois Lane and I think Tom Welling is my favorite version of Superman, Michael is THE Lex Luthor
This show: 👉 Best live action Lex Luthor 👉 Strongest live action Superman - pushed off a planet nearly the size of Jupiter with ease (not even sun-dipped) 👉 Fastest superspeeding Superman - ran from Kansas to the north pole in less than 3 seconds, can't remember the episode 👉 Fastest heat vision usage - vaporizing an entire river after a dam broke while the rushing water seems to not be moving at all 👉 Tankiest - took the brunt from an anti - matter weapon from anti monitor(s) This show also explored the Phantom zone than any of its counterpart (live action) and expanded on its lore a bit more. GOAT of the CW.
2:24 I love that lex was emotional yet cold and calculating he always had some type of plan or scheme and I also like that they made him a meteor freak essentially and connected him to Clark's childhood as well like they did with Lois and Lionel was such a great addition to the Superman mythos
this was the first show I watched in its entirety when I was 11 years old. the show had been off the air for one year, it was awesome how many episodes it had, it has such great sentimental value to me. Smallville's take on Doomsday has actually been my favorite for some time. It had its downsides, yes, but it really fascinated me which made me feel like he was wasted. Didn't like his "dynamic" with Chloe, I think he should've been more involved with Clark. It almost seemed like the "Naman and Segieth" legend was meant to symbolize Clark and Davis Bloom the whole time, which would've been a cool twist had Davis been utilized more often. This lead me to imagine that Davis was a part of the main cast even since the pilot and then drops out after season 8, and is even the first one to know of Clark's identity. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind if Lana ended up as an incarnation of Doomsday. Think about it. She goes through trauma every Tuesday yet it barely affects her, she has this habit of indirectly bringing out the worst in people, in contrast with Clark whose influence turns others into better people, she acts semi-antagonistic in seasons 6 and 7, and everyone keeps warning her about some "darkness" that's in Lana. Chloe even compares Lana and Clark to Isis and Ra and how Isis "brought Ra down to his knees." All of that would've been some sick Doomsday build-up and foreshadowing. Either way, I pictured Clark's attempts to separate Doomsday from his human half failing via the black kryptonite getting destroyed. The Lana and Lex romance was also my favorite. Not because I shipped them or anything like that but because I was under the impression that the toxicity of that relationship was the whole point and I was really hooked. It's so complex and screwed up, it was giving some heavy Pretty Little Liars vibes and I was down for it.
I never gave two shits about Superman as a kid. Until one day my dad and I went to the apartments gym for quick workout for dinner when I was in like Middle School and he put supernatural on the TV in the gym. I stayed at the gym watching random reruns of Smallville until like midnight
Literally rewatching the show right now. S7 E10 so far. Put it to the side for a few days. This show was my introduction to Superman. Within the babbles of a madman, there but a sliver of truth.
As a child this one stuck out to me. This show is great.
Have you seen the podcast where the the main characters go through the show with each episode?
Yep, love the Talkville podcast
I've never seen someone portray all my thoughts about this masterpiece of a show so well, like man you made my day
And one more thing, Smallville gave us so many great songs! I grieve by Peter Gabriel, Everything by Lifehouse and many, many more! Soundtrack was awesoeme!
smallvilee had one of the best sountracks
Love your videos brother, so glad the algo brought me. Teen wolf video incoming? Think you mentioned that in this video or the quiet place one, been chain watching
Your views are going up brother, love it. I'll be watching your career with great interest 😂
I don’t see any problem with watching Teen Wolf. It’s decent and you are so right, if you seen Tyler in that you’d know that he’d make a good Superman. W take.
Smallville and Teen wolf are both some of my favorites
I believe you about dying on that hill. Great video as always.
Saw the title, and my mind was immediately like: yea that’s fair.
Absolutely love your takes.. you're hilarious. Keep it up bro. Awesome how you just go with no editing.
That thumbnail with Clark w/ the red eyes … PEAK 🔥👌🏽
This show was great. I really enjoyed it. Have every season on dvd. The whole cast was great. I had such a huge crush on Lana Lang. Man was she smokin hot. Something about her. Of course Erica Durance was hot too but Lana was thee chick. Great memories of going to my mom's house to watch the show before she passed. Good stuff bro!
Been rewatching ever since they started the podcast
Smallville red kryptonite Clark was the crashout version of Bully Maguire and I noticed every time he goes red kryptonite mode he switches to the black leather jacket, If Tom Welling ever plays Superman again I hope he actually wears the Superman suit this time since he said in one of his videos that he's open to it now because of his kid, It doesn't feel right seeing all the Superman actors all wearing their respective suits while Tom is the only one wearing regular clothes or the blur coat or that damn red jacket blue shirt combo that he constantly wore throughout most of the show
Clark and Lana were fine in the first 3 seasons but in the later seasons they started getting toxic and abusive and in real life if that happened to me I would not have put up with that especially for as long as Clark did because a GF is one thing but marriage? Hell no I would have been moved on as Clark should have since in season 6 I started to feel like Clark was obsessed with Lana especially when Lana started dating Lex almost like the writers did that just to f*ck with Clark all while you got Lois Lane right there the entire time slowly being built up as Clark's endgame love interest and the minute season 4 introduced Lois Lane I knew Clark and Lana were cooked, I didn't like it when Lana came back in the later seasons just to c*ck block Clark and Lois right when Clark and Lois were finally about to share their first kiss, It started to feel like the writers didn't know what to do with Lana
Btw yeah Erica as Lois is the GOAT Lois Lane and I think Tom Welling is my favorite version of Superman, Michael is THE Lex Luthor
Stop talking, the CW is over. Accept it. He will never put the suit on again
I don't even like Superman but I loved watching Smallville, that's how I know it was a quality show
Krstin Kreuk is such an exotico. The only reason to watch Street Fighter Chung Li
That guy from American pie trying to play a hard boiled detective was pretty comical
i'll watch anything with her
This show:
👉 Best live action Lex Luthor
👉 Strongest live action Superman - pushed off a planet nearly the size of Jupiter with ease (not even sun-dipped)
👉 Fastest superspeeding Superman - ran from Kansas to the north pole in less than 3 seconds, can't remember the episode
👉 Fastest heat vision usage - vaporizing an entire river after a dam broke while the rushing water seems to not be moving at all
👉 Tankiest - took the brunt from an anti - matter weapon from anti monitor(s)
This show also explored the Phantom zone than any of its counterpart (live action) and expanded on its lore a bit more. GOAT of the CW.
Gotta say, I love the intensity you bring to the videos.
dude this show was so hype for me when i was younger. i’d be on kryptonsite for hours after school theory crafting about 33.1 lol
The way you feel about Alicia is the same way I felt about Lilith off the show Supernatural😂
lana lang is half the reason i used to watch this. huge crush on her back then
I’ve rewatched this like 3-4 times
2:24 I love that lex was emotional yet cold and calculating he always had some type of plan or scheme and I also like that they made him a meteor freak essentially and connected him to Clark's childhood as well like they did with Lois and Lionel was such a great addition to the Superman mythos
The "I need cocaine for this" for Lana Lang section.. so true haha
this was the first show I watched in its entirety when I was 11 years old. the show had been off the air for one year, it was awesome how many episodes it had, it has such great sentimental value to me. I rewatched it a few years ago with my buddy during covid, some of the scenes especially with his father truly still hit ya.
This show was awesome when I was a kid. Well the first few seasons
I loved Smallville really dude
Honestly I'm not sure how you wound up on my recommended but the two videos I've seen of you have been pretty damn good so you've earned yourself a subscriber
why was everyone in this show so hot
Been loving this channel recently
I remember watching this when I was younger I am now 17 and this show is PEAK
When i was a kid, i saw one episode with vandal savage trying to steal organs. I was like 10? My uncle was watching it. Dude became my favorite villain from then on
Smallville's take on Doomsday has actually been my favorite for some time.
Merlin, I forgot about that show, but I liked it when it was aired.Would be cool to have a review of that too.
I love Michael Rosenbaum my favorite Lex line of his
"No, because I'm evil!"
Love the vid man. Too bad I can't finish it, gonna watch the show over and the less I remember the better. Smallville was goated fr
Literally rewatching the show right now. S7 E10 so far. Put it to the side for a few days. This show was my introduction to Superman. I literally bought that one Fortnite battle pass that had Superman in it just for him. I don’t use the Superman skin but I love that I have it. I’ve never seen the Henry Cavill Superman, and don’t plan to atm, but I have seen Christopher Reeves, Tom Welling, and Tyler Hoechlin Superman.
Bro my uncle showed me this when i was 8 and still love this show today best superman plus strongest superman this man got bullet time.
Love seeing channels like this grow. Hope there some deathstroke merch down the road 😅
What's hilarious is Kristin really did want to be killed off in season 5 and was disappointed to find out it was John that was getting the permadeath. 🤣
Now I'm going to have to go re-watch the Smallville series, been a while lol
