Yeah the problem is that one is really bad. Almost B movie levels or a parody film but it's played completely straight. Kate is still a bombshell on that one, tho.
If we can include the tv shows into this...there was also Moonlight... cancelled after ONE SEASON...and to make it funnier the actress Sophia Myles who played a vampire Erika in Underworld starred in that show as human reporter ;) and main love interest of vampire detective Mick St. John...it was maybe another sappy love thing in it, but it had cool characters (character of vampire Joseph Kostan definitely was one of the great elements) also the show just started to set it's own feet and setting up it's own vampire lore until the writers strikes caused for it to have the plug pulled :).
The only real problem with van Helsing is that the plot is sorta simple but outside of that nearly everything else about it is great or ahead of it time.
I personally enjoyed the attitudes inside the series Znation. The Murhy object is so funny with his attitude. Citizen Z helping out from ass of geography is outa this world.
One of the 2 of your female audience here 😄 I get you, i've used to love this movie back in my Vampire phase and Kate/Selene was one of my absolute favorites when it came to female leads. She was a badass and strong but also undoubtedly feminine and attractive without showing it off head on. I miss the female characters we used to have. I find it funny how the Hollywood is spinning the "we need more strong female leads, we've never had them" narrative when i absolutelly grew up with them. Selene, Ripley, Leia, Trinity, Lara Croft in video games (also in movies as Angelina Jolie), Leelo from the fifth elementh etc. There were also Arwen and Galadriel as an epithome of a true feminine strength. Even women don't like modern women characters that the industry is vomiting out today 😅🤮
@@kyleday5026 They aren't really characters anymore. A character used to have multiple strengths and weaknesses. It's funny because I more recently got into Underworld primarily from an Underworld tribute with Haunted by Disturbed which is one of my favorite songs from Disturbed and one I often come back to just for the intro.
Blade made me a vampire fan. Hugh Jackman's Van Helsing and Underworld as a whole solidified my love for vampires and werewolves. The fact that we were supposed to get a Blade and Saline crossover says everything. Damn shame we never got it.
Going to throw this out there of my favorite supporting character that easily could have been the main vamp villain or leader. Charles Dance - he was in Underworld: Blood Wars, Underworld Awakening and Dracula Untold as the monster in the cave that made Dracula. Powerful character and criminally underused in these roles. Not to mention he's the absolute legend as Tywin Lannister in GoT.
Underworld writers and film makers were sued by White Wolf Publishing for copyright infringement and plagiarizing their Vampire the Masquerade content. This is probably why the film franchise got derailed and lost the story plot (plus Scott Speedman didn't want to return to reprise his role as Michael, not enough material in it for him, not enough money in it for him).
Now that I see this video I realize how many bad ass characters this movie had. I always thought they could have explored Amelia's story a bit more, she was killed off way too easily. I love this series.
Yep i really like Underworld series and Selene... She is so good dam hot and also good written charter... We see a loot of hot or good written characters... but both in one person? it's rare...
I’ll never forgive them for what they did to Micheal. I was so hyped for his character to be in the latter films only for him to be chopped up off screen
Lots of viewers including myself believe that Michael is not actually dead, stating that his "dying" due to blood loss in Blood Wars makes little sense, as he previously survived being impaled on a pier pipe. However, in the latter instant, he wasn't drained of all his blood the first time and it took him several hours to heal and come back to life. Even so, he lost a lot of blood by being impaled. Given that Selene only really saw Michael being drained of blood, and has only Marius' word that he is dead (as his body is never shown on-screen) , it's possible that Michael Corvin could still be alive. Not to mention that Scott Speedman himself said for the 20th anniversary of Underworld 1 that he's still up for another Underworld movie if it's a big and important role. He's all in. Even saying that he wouldn't mind doing a movie solely about Michael Corvin. Because Scott Speedman finds him cool and interesting.
the Underworld movie is gem not only to vampire but has some of the best werewolves transformation and lore out there Rise of Lycan is such fantastic Movie cant be understated.
Never forgot this series grew up watching all the underworld movies and even the later bad sequels i still absolutely loved the movies and selene is best girl super fine and badass
The story reminded me a lot of Vampire the Masquerade Roleplaying game Published by White Wolf. Which is why I actually loved it. More along the lines of politics, enforcers (granted there would be far less, as True Blood more reflects that aspect of Vampire the Masquerade,) Rank and Status, Elders, Secrecy, and conflict between Werewolves (that actually have war forms) and Vampires. They really didn't get into more of the Elders/Politics/Status side of things as they could have, but if they had, it would have potentially been far more boring for the action hungry, and far more mentally stimulating in the intellectual side of things.
no corvenus had 3 children. 1 turned into a vampire, 1 into a werewolf and the last one was not immortal and was seen as a normal human. So the last one was excluded from the family and with the century his blodd line was forgotten until the event in the movie where they discover the blood line of the 3rd one can be hybrid between the 3 races.
Yes, so well put. The first three underworlds are my favorite movies of all time Closely followed by blade The matrix and terminator one and two, and it's fun to see I'm not the only one Also, I agree I really love All the Vampire type movies except for Twilight. I feel like vampires make the perfect. superhumans. They have phenomenal powers and a perfect kryptonite
A new background? Looking good. I like vampires (30 days of Night, Dracula Untold, Dracula 1992; higher vampires from The Witcher Saga are ultimate badass), but werewolves (The Wolfman 2010, Wolf from 10th Kigndom, Bigby Wolf from Fables comic books and it's game adaptation The Wolf among Us) are my favorite. I'd like to watch your video about them.
Selena's powers made it even more dope! I think she has a daughter with the hybrid too! So much potential with this franchise but they definitely dropped the ball
Scott Speedman himself saidfor the 20th anniversary of Underworld 1 that he's still up for another Underworld movie. If it's a big and important role he's all in. Let's face it if Michael Corvin can come back to life after being impaled through the heart than a slash to the throat should be no problemo. Kate Beckinsale said that she's opposed to coming back as Selene one last time. Let's make Underworld 6 happen. With Scott Speedman and Kate Beckinsale finishing what they started in 2003. Giving their characters a satisfying ending. Michael Corvin being the new leader of the Lycans and marrying Selene and ruling a new Coven together with Eve as their heir. A coven where Vampires and Lycans live together. Making the wish of Lucian and Sonja finally come true. The Corvin Coven. Giving Michael's healing factor an upgrade. Maybe the same Level as Count Dracula from Van Helsing 2004. Underworld and Underworld: Evolution are two favourite movies of all time. Underworld 1 being my second favourite and Evolution being my number one favourite. It's thanks to my dad that I love these movies. We were in Big W. Dad bought the Trilogy of the first 3 movies. Dad put the first one that night. He told me to watch with him. I wasn't that interested at first. But after watching the first one. I immediately asked dad if we could put the 2nd one on. Because I got so hooked into the lore, the story, romance and seeing a Hybrid between 2 famous supernatural creatures. He said yes and I loved it more than the first one and from then on. They have been my favourite movies of all time. Michael Corvin is my favourite fictional character ever. Selene is my favourite fictional female character ever and Michael Corvin and Selene are my favourite fictional couple of all time. So thank you dad for introducing me to the Underworld Franchise and Rest In Peace. He passed away last year in August the sams month as my mum's birthday and my birthday. After fighting lung cancer for 16 months after the doctor said that he would last 5 months. Thank you dad. I love you and I always will. The Underworld Franchise means the world to me. I would love to see Underworld 6 with Scott Speedman and Kate Beckinsale as Michael Corvin and Selene one last time.
Awesome video and I'm glad you mentioned Daybreakers with Willem Dafoe, that is one of the best vampire films seeing a world being dominated by bloodsuckers is a unique take on the Sub Genre and Kate Beckinsale is even more gorgeous in Van Helsing in my opinion.
I would love to see an Underworld film with Selene facing off against the Yautja. Selene was probably the best female action character to hit the screen within the past 20 years.
1:17 - “Blade vampire Lore” as a better option: Blade, The Series. It only had 12 episodes, but basically Blade starts to run an asset inside a specific Vampire family. She got bit, and is accepted into the family, while also not being evil. The head of the family is a born vampire, not turned. So she ages slowly. That actress did SUCH a good job at it, too. She pauses at some point, and announces she is hungry. So a servant brings a black satchel, like and Olde Thyme doctor’s bag. But instead of holding tools, there’s a live baby in there. Then we fade to Black, sustain before we have to watch the baby be killed.
My favorite interpretation of Dracula is Castlevania’s original timeline version of him. They did his character some justice in the original animated Castlevania Netflix adaptation, the first two seasons of the original animated season was a great adaptation of him. Along with Gary Oldman from Bram Stoker’s Dracula from the 90’s and the OG version of Dracula played by Belo Lugosi.
Again, 100% spot on. I loved this franchise ever since I got to be a part of the test audience for the trailer. RISE is still my favorite of the first three because I liked that story more and seeing how it all came to pass and instead of building upon that, it gave us the horrible sequels that destroyed my love for it. I love strong characters like Selene, Sonia, Ripley, Samus Aran, even Lara Croft and such. But they all have something in common, they aren't perfect and are fallible. That's what makes them believable. This franchise had so much potential early on and Hollywood ruined it to make a quick buck. This franchise experienced the same fate as the RE franchise did, where instead of continuing a good narrative, lets shove as much CG fan service into it as much as we can. They also both suffer from the directors putting their wives front in center in every sequel, reminding viewers "this is my hot wife, look what she can do." Alice and Selene going from their respective origins to what they became was just stupid. Let's forget about every character along the way as well. P.S. I think Rhona Mitra is slightly more attractive in that leather than Kate Beckinsale, I said it.
you said u didn't understand why it was one asleep one awake , and the answer is really simple , I think victor knew early on that when multiple leader figures are reigning at one time , there is always a difference in opinion one leader thinks things should be ran this way while another may think this way , and its just a great system where there will not be any confusion on who's in charge ! so when Marcus is awake he can do things his way within the boundaries of course , meaning the set rules that victor the dictates came up with im sure lol. its like even tho Marcus is the oldest and strongest , its seems victor has made him yield to him and not question his authority. and for those who dont know , the reason Marcus is subservient to victor is because only victor knew where his brother William was being kept lock n key, and the thought of victor killing his brother has always seem to be a black mailing tactic of victors lol. but ya other then that its just easier if one person is ruling verses three individuals all at once in this way there is no confusion who's in charge right now.

I love this movie.
It was such a fun movie to uncover in the theaters.
I appreciate u for the berserk video bro it was great.
Brother I'm new to channel but you are a blast Man!!! 😂😂😂😂 Love the content but you make it more fun Bro!!!
John carpenters vampire is pretty good also
Going to throw this out there of my favorite supporting character that easily could have been the main vamp villain or leader.
Damn...
Now that I see this video I realize how many bad ass characters this movie had. I always thought they could have explored Amelia's story a bit more, she was killed off way too easily. I love this series.
😂 undercover simp. Loving your channel bro.
This is my first time watching this channel you have a sub and your female actors list is very nice.
I'd love to see a prequel about Corvinus, William and Marcus and victor.
Sony needs to bring the underworld back
Subscribed👍.
This is the best vampire action series.
I have only seen the title so far, and I absolutely agree.
I'm something of a vampire the masquerade fan myself.
Its a franchise that could benefit from a TV series also.
Going to watch daybreakers, now! Another good take, zaffy!
the Underworld movie is gem not only to vampire but has some of the best werewolves transformation and lore out there Rise of Lycan is such fantastic Movie cant be understated.
Never forgot this series grew up watching all the underworld movies and even the later bad sequels i still absolutely loved the movies and selene is best girl super fine and badass
1:36 Another movie that’s been forgotten but is severely underrated is “Perfect Creature.” Great vampire film.
Honestly the part where lucian was chasing after the felt super realistic far better than any other creature chasing after fast movie vehicles
Absolutely love the 1st movie. It was one of the movies we would screen in the university week for the breaks in virology awareness classes.
They killed Lucian in underworld 1 as a reshoot post Kate leaving the actor Michael sheen, he was suppose to live
For the Director, coldAsf
no corvenus had 3 children. 1 turned into a vampire, 1 into a werewolf and the last one was not immortal and was seen as a normal human. So the last one was excluded from the family and with the century his blodd line was forgotten until the event in the movie where they discover the blood line of the 3rd one can be hybrid between the 3 races.
I have watched this trilogy over 10 times. Selene rocked that leather! Michael was a threat! Victor was old class.😎😎💯
I like that in Dracula Untold he’s an anti hero
Yes, so well put. The first three underworlds are my favorite movies of all time Closely followed by blade The matrix and terminator one and two, and it's fun to see I'm not the only one Also, I agree I really love All the Vampire type movies except for Twilight. I feel like vampires make the perfect. superhumans. They have phenomenal powers and a perfect kryptonite
I love that franchise. I tend to rewatch it
A new background? Looking good. I like vampires (30 days of Night, Dracula Untold, Dracula 1992; higher vampires from The Witcher Saga are ultimate badass), but werewolves (The Wolfman 2010, Wolf from 10th Kigndom, Bigby Wolf from Fables comic books and it's game adaptation The Wolf among Us) are my favorite. I'd like to watch your video about them.
Selena's powers made it even more dope! I think she has a daughter with the hybrid too! So much potential with this franchise but they definitely dropped the ball
*reads the title*
Watch Innocent Blood. Thank me later. Happy New Year, bro 👍
Great flick.
Yes this. Watched it once before I could even pronounce the word innocent. Can't forget it
Scott Speedman himself saidfor the 20th anniversary of Underworld 1 that he's still up for another Underworld movie.
Underworld was the reason for a lot of things I liked when I was a kid. Thank you Kate Beckinsale, you are amazing. Ahem... lets continue.
I love selene. But the way they killed of my boy is crazy like dumb off screen shit
I absolutely love underworld. And they still talk about a 6th one. I hope they do it soon. Maybe it could right a wrong Sony did
🐐 IM WATCHING CAUSE YOU TOKD ME TO ON THE OTHER VIDEO ❤😂🎉
Read the book "Blood Enemy". It's the original prequel story to Underworld that Rise of the Lycans.
They should just retcon or just make it non canon or ignore movie 4 and 5 altogether.Continue the movie 6 from the ending of underworld 2.
This gives me inspiration as a screenwriter-director working on his own Vampire TV show! Bruh!
Big fan of Blade and Underworld, thank you for recommending Daybreakers - that one skipped me
Love the content keep it up
My favorite interpretation of Dracula is Castlevania’s original timeline version of him.
In my adolescensce, loved this franchise a lot. Totally one of the best and created one of the best female action heroines with Selene.
“Dusk Till Dawn” it’s such an underrated vampire movie. It had Selma a club shootout. And this was late 90s.
OMG a video about Underworld ! Instant like and subscribe.
you said u didn't understand why it was one asleep one awake , and the answer is really simple , I think victor knew early on that when multiple leader figures are reigning at one time , there is always a difference in opinion one leader thinks things should be ran this way while another may think this way , and its just a great system where there will not be any confusion on who's in charge ! so when Marcus is awake he can do things his way within the boundaries of course , meaning the set rules that victor the dictates came up with im sure lol. its like even tho Marcus is the oldest and strongest , its seems victor has made him yield to him and not question his authority. and for those who dont know , the reason Marcus is subservient to victor is because only victor knew where his brother William was being kept lock n key, and the thought of victor killing his brother has always seem to be a black mailing tactic of victors lol. but ya other then that its just easier if one person is ruling verses three individuals all at once in this way there is no confusion who's in charge right now.
Babe wake up zaffy dropped a banger 😆
