    Thunderbolt cranks have a feature the no other cranks have. The wedges acts as a tension releave and give it sort of increased elasticity, it's not like those 48 splice that trust all the elasticity in their arms. I weight 107kg (235 pounds), I bent some 19mm axels in the past, but thunderbolt is hanging for 4 years and still going.

    im currently running eclat spires, i love the design on them, where the spindle joins the crank it doesnt stick out at all really so theyre great for crankflips, tailwhips, and anything where you are catching your bike.

    All your vids are great. Old head here getting back into it. When my mission crank breaks, used bike, going with Odyssey for replacement. Nothing but good words from friends that run them.

    I’ve rode Eclat Spires and Odyssey Caliburs. Both have been really solid for me in what I’ve done. The Spires are a bit more uniform to the sprocket, whereas the Caliburs definitely stay tighter. Every once in awhile I have to loctite the bolt on the Spires. Never had that issue on the Odysseys

    Not sure if profile cranks are made for vert or street, they're made for racing I do believe.

    Funny how profile cranks still crack. They were big back in the mid school days and they had the same problem.

    My stock gt cranks lasted 2 years, I case everything and it broke at the pedal weld. BSD substance XL V2 is what replaced them. Right size 170 mm available when I needed it

    What’s the best crank to run that is not hard to peddle I’m getting a kink bmx 20inch and I don’t know if there going to be stiff or not and I can’t afford a crank after I get the bike but I bet it’ll be easier to peddle

    Any spindle other than spline makes for garbage cranks. Thunderbolt are a stupid design with too many pieces. They look like shit too.

    • @DuhYaThink

      They are strong and easy too work with. Installing and disassembly 👍🏻

    • @Bobby_Uterus
      @Bobby_Uterus Рік тому +1

      @@DuhYaThink Compared to what? they’re way more complicated than normal three piece or 2 1/2 piece. Just because you paid money for them, doesn’t mean they’re great.

    • @DuhYaThink
      @DuhYaThink Рік тому

      @@Bobby_Uterus They are really simple. In my experience. There is a wedge and 2 crank arms,one with a spindle welded to it. They work for me. Too each their own 🤷‍♂️👍🏻

    • @Bobby_Uterus
      @Bobby_Uterus Рік тому

      @@DuhYaThink They’re easy enough to work on, but there’s no way that they’re a simpler design than a splined 2 1/2 or three piece. Anything with more physical hardware in the design is more complicated to service or repair. Do they work any better than a traditional three piece or 2 1/2? It was one of those stupid designs Jorge French came up with. Same guy that brought you the elementary stem and those awesome odyssey Director forks that changed BMX. Lol
