I remember that video, you start this vodeo with, in brutal circumstances. But ecxellent fishing. I am not a winter flyfishing guy but I admire you two doing that and present us with your astonishing video's. Well done pals!
We have a river like that here in Utah. The big browns just stack up in a certain deep hole. I have seen up to 26" caught in it. It's always an awesome time when I go there. Great video!
What a great place with plenty of fish, I still have difficulty appreciating the size of your fish when you just measure them. As I've said before here in the UK we always weigh our fish. The scenery looks stunning but you didn't show us any mountains.
I hope this isn’t a stupid question but I noticed in lots of your videos your stripped line still has memory loop from when it was on a spool - is that something that people gotta worry about? Everyone online tells me it’s detrimental to stretch it out but you’re slaying with no issues at all. Love the content man, cheers.
It matters only if ur going for a long casts. It can effect fly performance on a water and distance you cast. Since he is fishing mostly close distance it doesnt matter much. Mostly if your line is Doin this you have a bad line. Line memory is sign your line is bad made or designed bcs it has strong memory. Good lines dont do that.
@@theyoren9720I wouldn’t say it doesn’t make a difference but it’s probably cold as hell and the line will hold memory regardless. It’s always a good idea to stretch your line
@@theyoren9720is that Celsius or Fahrenheit? -10 Celsius is about 14 degrees F. Just curious. 14° Fahrenheit is often a pretty average temperature for fishing in the Colorado mountains in winter. It can get much colder than that. And frequently does. Also. What line are you using? I noticed some lines work better in cold than others. If yours is working real well at 14° Fahrenheit I would like to know what it is lol.
Awsome video guys looks cold ive fished in colorado with spinner and it was so cold the line and spinner would freeze whole we were realing in but we had fun lol dont think we even caught anything hut we were in the kountains fishing that's all we cared about
Well I saw that Andrew while fishing the main river was using a risen 9ft 8 weight 4 piece rod paired with a Lamson liquid looks like 7 weight. Looks like John’s has a euro nymphing setup so probably 10 foot rod I presume a 5wt. The reel is a sage ESN 2-5 wt.
Ok, at 1:55 ur throwing into a Gale and downstream thus fly drifts right at you. Why not move Upstream and toss with wind behind you.?? Also what flies were y'all using..?? Just curious...
Can't fish downstream in lower clear water, fish would spook. Especially when they're sitting in undercuts underneath the bank we were standing on. And leech jig streamers (for day 1)
hey ive been watching and i fish as well on sea finesse, fly fishing, karp, catfish, tuna, mackerel, sea trout, pike, bass and whatever but i do not understand how there are only 80K subs on this channel. true it is a bit over the top sometimes like a hollywood scene but the skills are top notch. my brother and i fish together as well so i see myself a bit in you guys. to increase the subs hy dont u go oversaeas or collab with multiple youtubers? sincerely
Another amazing video, guys. By FAR my favorite channel on UA-cam!
Thank you!! That means a lot, seriously. Glad you enjoy the videos
I live here in Colorado, and I must say you chose some of my favorite spots to fish. Keep it up!

Great day of fishing in spite of the wind!
Nice, Guys. I can only dream of going on these trips.
Glad you enjoyed it!
What an adventure. Jon and Andrew in the dead of winter give hope of spring. Thanks HFA!
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching!

Patiently waiting for new Colorado footage, but this does it.
New footage will be coming next week I believe!

Fishing out west is on my bucket list , enjoyed
What a fun video. But not surprised. I always enjoy watching you fish AND always learn valuable lessons for my future excursions!
I’m glad you enjoyed it!

I have one question though: did you guys use sinking lines or other means to lower the streamers?
Most of the time we were using a Leech streamer on a euro style tight line rig on this particular trip. So we didn't need the sinking line.
Fish on boys!! Another AWESOME video!! 👍😁🎣
Thank you!!
king of fishing
"Such a creative and engaging video!"
Love the HFA West adventures, even if they're old.

another great video!
Awesome video 😍🙌🏼
Thank you!
Nice fish. With the wind blowing like that, I'd be tempted to get out my spinning rod, though.😊😊😊
Not If ur a Fly Fisherman...
Fly fishermen don't use other tools that work better under certain conditions?

They don't carry the extra gear...
You don't go to the Indy 500 and bring some NASCAR parts "just in case"...

made my week
You should fish the Provo river in Utah it has some of the best fishing for Brown Trout
Float tubers are a problem there. At least Spring thru end of summer.
why you gotta leek the spot

Can u tell me the specs of the gear u normally use in the video and what du u suggest to use in which type of water ? Thx. love ur video btw.

Bro i ve a question. Is more easy catch fish with spinning road rispect to flyfishing ?
Man this winter has sucked!!! There aint snow anywhere like what?
Hey Andrew what reel are you using with your T&T contact ll?
Yep! For the most part
What rods and reels line everything used if u don’t mind me asking
How do I find small streams with fish? I cant seem to find any in Colorado that hold any trout, how do I find the ones that do?
What kind of euro fly line do you use ?
What size fly rod and reel would you suggest for this kind of fishing?
A 9’6 5 wt works great for these areas and these species of fish.

Hi
Way cool but a tad breezy
Just a tad!
big streamer = big browns

Colorado is great! Just stay away from anything close to Denver. Those idiots ruin everything from skiing to hiking to fishing
Why are you bothering the fish, when the fish becomes a handkerchief, its skin becomes vulnerable to drops and parasites, this is 100% wrong 😡
Love watching this channel ❤️
