The fact that this account isn’t already at over a million subs blows my mind. Quality of every video is out of this world! Good job as always Scottie! 👏
While in my early twenties I spent about two years as a field assistant studying these fish in part of the Greater Yellowstone system. I was also a fly fisherman so got to study myself fishing and get paid for it. Pretty sweet gig. I am now in my late 60's. Your film brought back the joy of living and working in this area and doing something I loved. Thank you for that.
Fly fishing to me brings back the quiet still moments in my life that is very few and very far between. Between the 25 years I served in the AIR FORCE and the years after serving patients in the hospital those times I spent in the woods alone with my dog and catching those trout gives me the sense of connecting to nature that I truly loved.
The memories alone from filming trips and fishing experiences like this alone enhance the experience and make it last longer finding the balance is what’s beautiful about it.
I’m 53 years old, and I fished a lot growing up and as a young adult. Like 200 days a year. I had kids, showed them fishing and they were not interested. Recently my youngest son has been bitten by the bug and it’s been great showing him some thins. It’s inspiring watching young (ish) folks figure out that it’s alright to be outside and get dirty and drag your camera gear around. It gives me hope as I often feel the generations below me are doomed because they didn’t live the way I lived. Y’all have got the right idea. It’s not the same, as it never will be with the cellphone but it’s as close. All the important elements are there, and it’s more interesting than bill dance
You should be very proud of what you have created, you have a very unique talent in the way you shot the scenes and edited your film. I enjoyed the way you injected short lesser pixelated scenes of each other smiling and presenting your trophies. It reminded me of old home videos and photos of past friendships and trips taken. Thank you for bringing a smile to my face.
I spent a week fly-fishing in the Yellowstone backcountry some years ago and it was the best week I've ever spent in the outdoors. Thanks for sharing your experience there with the community through this beautiful film!
I absolutely loved the film. A great representation of fellowship, fish, and trusting the process! As someone who works with YCT I enjoyed seeing you guys stick it out and catch a handful beautiful trout
I know it’s not good for the fishing, but that sound of rain pelting the top of the camper? I love it man. It’s a he sound of an adventure starting for sure.
I’ve been fly fishing since 1975. Back then I could never have imagined I would someday watch people fly fish on TV in far away places that I’d love to go someday. I wouldn’t even have imagined watching people fish around close to home on TV. Time surely has changed things. I’ve watched your videos for a long time. I fly to California in June to fish the golden trout wilderness with my son. A trip of a lifetime for me. I hope to meet you on the water somewhere someday.
Excellent work. Your shots of the fish in the nets was unbelievable! You paid great omage to the creator and the fish He so amazingly designed! Well done!
Another Incredible video from Wild Fly and friends. Thanks for all the quality entertainment. These films never dissapoint and always inspire me to get out and enjoy. Thank you so much!
This was awesome y’all. As always thanks for the watch. Now, y’all need to get into some REAL REAL wilderness and get into the Bob Marshall in Montana 😉 you’ll get to pack in as well which is a blast.
We spent a week in the Bob with our packrafts two summers ago. Epic trip, but surprisingly ran into more people there than we did on this trip in Wyoming 😬
@@TightLoops yeah guessing you were on the flathead? Gets a good amount of guided traffic in the summer, best in the spring and early fall. The better water in my experience is coming in from the East side…the Sun river is awesome and gets fished way less. Glad you’ve been in the Bob though! It’s awesome.
Film everything. There are those of us that have no other option but to fish their native waters. And while I love WNC and all its fish one day I hope to find new water. Till then I’ll I live vicariously through all of you and those like you. Thank you.
I felt you joy your frustration your determination. That was great. Best I’ve ever seen. Thanks. Tell the haters to move on. Keep on filming and taking pictures. Best 😊
2 mates n i watched wildfly movie here in Australia n now we r watching it again now on YT. the 3 of us agreed its like a gud port resting, the taste gets better as time goes on. u c the littlest things missed or said the first time because u r taken by the first experience thats in front of u. the movie brings the landscape story fish right into u n theres a sensory overload u r trying to keep up with. guys the second time is a gud resting port. thx so much.
not a fly fisherman, I do have a love for all things outdoors and you guys successfully scratched my outdoor/adventure brain. From a frozen and cold Illinois, thanks!
I had a similar experience before and still managed to have an amazing time. I spent the down time doing some rock hounding. I've yet to get to that part of the country for some fishing. Thanks for sharing your awesome video.
Man yall are really good at making these videos. Accurate representation of the feast or famine/ebb and flow of wildlife in the west. So much nothing and then its like all hell breaks loose. Bad day at fishins better than a good day at work.
Awesome video & perspective, fly fishing & tying feeds the soul & makes 1 more detailed or orienated, sounds cliche but filming & photographing go hand in hand, add the unpredictable conditions & you have an awesome adventure, keep the great videos coming, tight lines 🤙
I will never complain about the dry weather again although I do prefer rain once in a while to be able to fish those river streams creeks so they are not totally blown out. Great movie. And outstanding job. Thank you.
Went to the premiere in SLC and had a blast! I was stoked to be able to chat with Chase and Aimee briefly, didnt get to say hi to you Scottie! Amazing film man. All of the stuff you all put out is incredible and inspiring to keep adventuring
Great video as always! I think I missed you guys by a day or two.....pretty sure I was fishing the river where you started on the 29th and 30th of July. Definitely went down hill from there. I headed further west and found decent water. It was fun to watch this having been in the same situation and not knowing if I should stay or move. Can't wait to get back out there this summer.
Hi I am from Tasmaina, Australia.A fly fisher spear fisher and farmer. We have one river and two irrigation dams. Love this video. my grandfather droped rainbow trout out of an plane to populate the rivers of the north west of the state.
so awesome. I had a GRIND in that part of wyoming as well. I fished for a day at that first spot yall went to , only found tiny fish but man it was pretty.
I really enjoyed watching this video, and since I recognize multiple locations within 20 miles of my house thanks for not being any more specific than N.W. Wyoming for a location.
Just finished my most recent "watched it again". Epic. An outing getting upended by adversity makes it - an adventure! I've had many and looking forward to many more.
Chains, they’re not just for snow 😂 Awesome video. Your stuff feeds an old soul. Now I have to order some merch. Ride the train while you can. Well done 👍

I feel your statement to the bottom of my soul. I know exactly what you mean my brother. I hope you continue to get those moments.
It’s a collision of worlds to hear Phelps low-key tenor say “Nice.”, as Aimee lays down a perfect cast. Love it,
Haha, you get it!
We’ll call them “phelpsisms” from now on 😂
The memories alone from filming trips and fishing experiences like this alone enhance the experience and make it last longer finding the balance is what’s beautiful about it.
Amen! So many moments not shared in the film that truly made the trip what it was.

The single best fishing channel in the world. Nothing inspires me more to get out end explore even I watch these incredible movies.
One of those films that you just can't pause no matter what. The quality, the storyline, the people all bundle it into just pure quality.
Amazing job, Scottie, Chase, Aimee, and Will! My wife and I love your videos and always look forward to a new release! Best channel!!

I know it’s not good for the fishing, but that sound of rain pelting the top of the camper? I love it man. It’s a he sound of an adventure starting for sure.
Totally! I always say the same thing about mosquitos and blackflies. When the bugs are bad, you know you're on an adventure!

It is PRIME rock hounding territory. Lots of agatized petrified wood!
