      When i first started betting last year i lost $200 on jorge masvidal then i won it back on a grappling rematch the next day. I started betting all in except leave $100 in case i lost. I bet on the most surest rematches of fights and got all the way to $1400 then i started betting on other sports and lost it all. I came back on another betting site by betting smaller $5 $10 and $20 bets and now im at $700 would have been $900 but i got greedy again and bet straight on the last fight of the night and lost. I always end up doing that when i could risk a smaller amount for more on the underdog

    No discussion on fading the public and reverse line movements? No discussion on sharp money vs square money? I've bet the NFL for over 15 years and paying attention to those indicators is absolutely essential. Whenever 70% of the public bets are on a side watch out for the zebras in the NFL. The longer you bet on the NFL the more it's obvious that this game is as pure as Madonna and as innocent as an escort.

    • @CaptainJackAndrews
      @CaptainJackAndrews  4 роки тому +28

      I'm not a fan of using published bet %'s and reverse line movement to do handicapping. It's essentially handicapping with incomplete information. You don't know what sample size the action is based on. You don't know what timeframe the RLM considers. There's a lot more information that builds a bigger picture that gets ignored when you focus on RLM and published reports of where the sharps are.
      However, if it's working for you, I'm not here to rain on your parade - it's just not an approach you'll find me recommending.

      Dink is the real deal and the kind of guy you meet and say "Wow, what a nice guy." About a year ago, I attended an event in Las Vegas where all the top names in the world of sports betting got together to socialize. My wife was with me and, predictably, bored. Dink noticed she was disinterested in the conversations being had and went over and talked to her about non-sports things. He didn't need to seek recognition from his peers, he could stop and take time to make someone else feel more welcome. That's why he's a legend.

    Hey Cap Jack, question for you. Dink mentions having 20 outs with some being shops. My question is how do you line shop efficiently with 10-20 outs? It’s too time consuming to log into every account and look at the line for the game in that many books. By the time you find the best line it might move. And also some books prob aren’t on don best or on screen. How do you go about finding the best line out of the 20 books quickly?

    • @CaptainJackAndrews
      @CaptainJackAndrews  4 роки тому +1

      There's probably not 20 different sets of lines in those 20 outs. Many different books share the same back-end lines. Often having multiple outs that are identical in their lines is useful for circumventing limits. In terms of keeping track of line moves. You know which books are good for certain situations. So if you see a line move or you get information about a game, you generally know which of your outs that scenario is probably best at. Those are the ones you check first.

      You are conflating payout and expected value. Let's use the example of 5 coin-flips each priced at -110. A sportsbook will pay you 22:1 on that parlay. You have a 3.13% chance of winning that parlay. You bet $100 on it.
      3.13% of the time you win $2200
      96.87% of the time you lose $100
      Expected Value = (.0313 * 2200)+(.9687 * -100) = -$28.12
      Meanwhile with betting each of those 5 coin-flips separately at -110 at $100 to win $90.91 per bet:
      50% of the time you win $90.91
      50% of the time you lose $100
      Expected Value = (.5 * 90.91)+(.5 * -100) * 5 = -$22.73
      Not to mention your most likely outcome betting them separately is going to be closer to your EV because there is far less variance involved than the parlay which you can only realistically expect to win once out of 32 times.

A lot less "point shaving" occurs in baseball & hockey when compared with football & basketball. I don't think he was speaking to it as a direct strategy, but rather as an off-the-cuff example. Are overs or unders a blanket play based on the weather? No, I don't think so. It greatly depends on the line you are offered. If the weather is too priced into the line, the converse can easily be true.

    I know that allot of what these guys are talking about as far as having an edge and positive value is very important but I dont worry about none of that stuff. I tail some great handicappers on every sport and I crush the NFL with special teasers. Of course I dont get shit value on my 4 team super teasers but I win at least 90% of my teasers. I am patient enough to wait another week if I have to leaving an open spot or two and I look for value in taking teams that have been blown out in the previous week usually in prime time so that the line is already inflated and well adding 13 points is almost more than enough. The way I look at it is that they're professionals and dont like to be embarrassed over and over so losing by 21 points on back to back weeks seldom happens. Plus many coaches in the NFL know and or respect the other coach and usually ease up late in the game to not embarrass the other team.

      @@maddcapper4548 For parlays the key is being good in multiple sports! Combine your top picks in each sport and parlay them together. I’m up over $33 grand doing 12 leg parlays!

    Hear this interview while I'm building a model is so disgusting... And I don't mean it because interview was bad, quite the opposite that was a great interview, but for me I can't afford $100 monthly for get this type of information like all the sports books lines around the world and looking for a handicap with one or two points of EV betting to understand it really better... I will believe that I'm just starting.
    Thank you so much for all that I learned from here. ❤

    With profit and money made with sports betting i just bought myself a car, Golf 4. Before that, i had and sold Golf 6...😀😀😀 Its just impossible to beat bookmakers..I remember, few years ago i could easy win 6-7 of 10 bets i made..now in this days i am happy if i can hit 4 of 10...
