    I lived in LV for 20-years starting in mid 90’s. I was always fascinated with Billy Walters. Beat four trials in Las Vegas. All Witch hunts pushed by casino controlled politicians because he was beating casinos at their own game. Pioneered gambling industry and was first adopt using computers to handicap to games. Parlayed his wealth Into business and real estate empire. And he really did tons for Opportunity Village and Boys and Girls Club in Las Vegas. Donated tens of millions. Just an incredible human being. A great American story. But the Feds finally got him. They hated him. 60 minutes interview back in the day really pissed them off. 9th District of New York. Same crew that has been relentlessly attacking Trump family and associates for years. Might I add, he had the greatest defense attorney ever for his four LV trial victories, Oscar Goodman, the former LV mayor. This was a great interview. Musberger is a legend and he loves sports betting. Glad Walters is out of jail and doing well. The man is a genius.

    Billy says that he didn't want to get past posted at a little over the 20 minute mark. Musberger a minute later says taking a bet, Billy corrects him and says making a bet. But if he was only "making" bets then he could not be worried about past-posting. However, maybe he meant that he could never be sure how much money he was getting down on a game, and therefore his definition of past-posting against him would be a runner telling him a different number due to seeing how the early action unfolded. I'm still convinced that at a minimum, he booked well into his Vegas years, and booked Michelson. The guy is a bookie, plain and simple, as well as a guy who can get the best number when making his own bets. He also created "moves" in order to get the number he wanted. No way he is telling the whole story. Phil Michelson, a known sports bettor, doesn't just owe Billy Walters millions without Bill being a bookie.

    • @arthurfonzarelli9828
      @arthurfonzarelli9828 Рік тому +2

      Yeah I think you explain it well Plus you have to think about it from his perspective I assume if he likes the other side of a game then booking it gives him a huge judge 5% ROI just by charging the juice

    • @arthurfonzarelli9828
      @arthurfonzarelli9828 Рік тому

      There's a possibility also that he wanted to get down money for him and the bets lost so that's why he owes Billy the money.

    • @ryanc9888
      @ryanc9888 Рік тому

      Walters was dealing with many partners and they bet on credit with bookies for him, not everything was post up and cash in Vegas. He was sending out orders all day and night on busy Weekends to partners all over the states and probably the UK and Carib etc so it would be easy for a bookie for example to take a bet from a partner on Ohio St when they were already losing 7-0 and the game started 4 minutes ago. Remember pay per head shops, score apps and the internet in general didn’t exist in the early 1980s and all his partners were frantically trying to get down and everything was done by landline phones, crappy beepers and scores. All the accounting was charted by hand etc so it would be easy to get past posted by error or a shot taking bookmaker.

    • @ryanc9888
      @ryanc9888 Рік тому +1

      Phil was probably getting down money for Walters who was well known for using celebrities as beards in Vegas. He used Bruce Willis and Ashton Kutcher back in the day. Or maybe they were making cross bets which big sports bettors do often if they like opposite sides on the same game, it eliminates using a bookmaker and it’s a Vigorish free bet. There’s a few different scenarios where Phil could owe Walters money without him being a bookmaker.
