Reading some of the comments.. 🤦🏻‍♂️ shocking , don’t judge, you have not been in this guys or lances shoes. Wrong is wrong , but when you have an utterly corrupt system , and a loose cannon judge laying down punishment then miscarriages like this occur. And the past and current state of things shows that power corrupts.. Great but painful story .. I can relate 🙏

Armstrong is an inspiration to all aspiring dopers that crime pays. Most people Lance’s age are still working full time. It’s easy to get over your downfall when you still have money.

This was the era of mega doping, everyone in the top 10 was ALSO doping. Armstrong's wealth began before he even went to Europe by winning the Dupont Race Series paying him $1,000,000.
After being busted he lost probably 90% of all his sponsorship income. I understand that people hate him for lying but what shouldn't be forgotten is he raised $500,000,000 for cancer research and if cancer hasn't touched your life, consider yourself lucky. THAT fact trumps the doping.

Narcissism is naturally blunted by a lifetime of consequences, but that's nothing to be commended. Transcending the primitive fears that led to prioritizing the wrong things (attention seeking/material things) is where the rubber meets the enlightened road.

Actually Bill was very quiet about his endeavors...his auto group was named WALTERS but the dealerships were not ..he shunned the spotlight.. people from ky of Bills generation never forget their humble upbringings..they understand money & hard work & many had big goals & aspirations man... nothing wrong with huge success..man also had bills to pay like you & I ..

@@Sharkofwatches I live by my own philosophy, and how you define success is the devil in the details. There's a reason the capitalistic priorities of the West were so vulnerable to everything Yuri Bezmenov warned us about in the 80s. Socialism/Communism isn't the answer either, but we'll continue banging our heads against the same societal cycles until we figure out the law of moderation applies to everything. Including all things monetary.

@@Sharkofwatches Moderation is a bleak existence in the most abundant country in the most abundant time in human history? Monetary wealth is easy for someone born with advantages like me. The motivations that manifest as irrational decadence in our modern world of abundance came from the evolutionary pressures that shaped us. Evolutionary pressures of much leaner times.
I understand why this conversation makes you uncomfortable, but I'm not trying to hold the moral high ground over you. I don't believe I'm better than Bill or you or anyone else, but my particular life path led me to some foundational discoveries about our species. It led to an enlightened place I strongly believe is the answer to what will continue to ail human existence otherwise.

People that understand doping and placing and your build up don't... i've also talked to various people 25-35 age who have no athletic stuff and they also understand it and realize the whole comp was doing it etc... and doping is part of that level .... so anyone with a level head can understand / doesn't really care.... its just certain ages of women and "cyclists" of the past?
