    Worked out of a boiler room "sports tips" hotline on Long Island NY in the 90's. We made a killing. Knicks / Yankees were hot and we had a business inside of the line movement. Guys would bet big during the playoffs! Crazy times. Degenerates is where the money is at.

      You're being a little mislead here. the bulk of Billy's money did not come as a direct result of sports betting, he won a poker tournament in 1986 for $175,000 and im guessing had built up a decent bankroll at which time he admits to retiring from poker and using that money for real estate and to build a golf club, he then years later used the same land the course was on and redeveloped it into extremely expensive housing development that made him something like $100 million dollars. When you sit back and realize that when he went to jail he also was ordered to pay the government back $43 million dollars in insider trader case he was busted on. Which is probably telling you.... that he was just using his wealth from his other various ventures for most of the very high stakes gambling he was doing, before that he wasn't using runners and all of that. I like Billy but you're being told a fairy tale. You don't make $200 million dollars betting sports, even if you could max bet millions every single day of your life you would not get to that number. He straight up told you in this interview that he purposely avoided the media at all costs as a strategy, well now that's all were seeing, wouldn't you believe that this is also a very specific strategy? He will lead you to believe he's a hooker with a heart of gold, but even his friends called him a degenerate gambler, an alcoholic and a person that has literally 0.0% money management skills. White lies is what they are called mixed with a fairy tale story. But the overwhelming majority of all his money, ALL of it, came from real estate and all the golf courses he eventually went on to buy and sell. You really think you're making $200m dollars betting sports? LOL Cmon man.

    • @ML-kx9gz
      @ML-kx9gz 9 місяців тому +1

      I remember another story where he said the most he ever won golfing was $1m but quickly goes on that he lost it all playing blackjack that night, showing you that he's all action 100% of the time. He once when he was young and first married gambled his house and lost it and had to go home to tell his wife to pack because they have to leave. He has a good work ethic and a strong business mind but definitely just an action guy, which makes it even more unlikely that he's "the worlds greatest sports bettor" Probably at best above average in a time where you could spot way more angles and the lines aren't going to be nearly as saturated as they are today.

      It's not rigged. The sportsbooks give out bad odds because of the vig/juice they charge on every bet. That's why 99% of bettors lose money long term. You either have to build better models than the sportsbooks or identify market inefficiencies in the odds. Billy did both.
