I purchased my 2018 BMW M550i a little over year ago. I absolutely LOVE this car! The torque and acceleration are phenomenal! Side Note: I spoke with a representative at Dinan (auto tuning) who confirmed that BMW underrates the hp on this car. The actual hp is 539 (Dyno confirmed). I presume this is done in part because BMW would have a much harder time justifying the price increase to jump to the M5’s 602hp when the M550i is only 63 hp less. You can have this car tuned to match the M5’s 602hp for under $5k. 🚙💨💨💨
I have owned mine for little over year now, love it! You should take it for a drive in sport mode, this is when you really feel the power.
I bet the power is crazy.

This right here......and the M5 (I'm leaning towards it)....is on my list for the next car....if it's a sedan AND performance car with 8 cylinders, its for consideration. I can't do coupes and 2 seaters...and I'm glad the infotainment is alot better than the past...couldnt stand that I Drive before..
Dude you obviously haven’t driven the 19 M5. The exhaust is so dam powerful, you hear and feel the crackle, which blows away the m550. Nice review overall

Love the M5, but you're gonna pay about 30-40k more for it... just had one go from my store for $130k after taxes n such. At 79k, the m550 is a hell of a car
I wonder if, essentially, the two engines are the same (M550i and M5) then what the difference is in the two exhausts that cannot be made the same for both.

I have a 2011 335 xdrive and as lol if at a new m340 but the used 2019 m550 are priced same wonder if better value
I love this car way better then m5 for many reasons you get similar speed better comfort good handling honestly price wise and everything so this car got a little bit of everything m5 doesn’t have comfort like this price high. like this car is great speed comfort price everything is great

How much more HP can you get out of this car with a computer tune? It’s at 450 hp now, anyone know of any tune/exhaust mods you can make to get more without going to an m5?
Awesome review! Great car, mother just bought a new M5 (her 5th inn15 years, and all have been dead reliable) and it's great. But....a big but...it's fast as, but it has lost the rawness and precision of previous 5ers and a manual (yes I know autos are quick, and some dual clutches are even faster, but having the option to shift yourself should still be an option). I still love these cars but the sound from a naturally aspirated engine like the E60 M5 can't be beat. These are just too quiet. We got a 550i here in Oz last year, and it's amazing, but miss the exhaust notes of previous V8 BMWs. And for nearly 200k (we pay way more than you lucky guys in the States) And the lack of Android Auto is sad, in no way a deal breaker, but with the techie Germans should be included. And the smart key is buggy and slow. Again amazing cars, the best is their respective classes, but just has lost some of the connection between driver and car. Not an AMG fan as Mercs are too soft and unreliable, but at least their V8s sounds like they should. And I do love the mostly analogue instruments of this particular car, some option packs have the all digital displays for the speedometer and tachometer. Don't like them, prefer analogue in a performance car. Oh and you can get a panoramic roof in some markets, should be standard in an over 100k car IMHO. But the 540i is the most value for car. The TT inline 6 is smooth as butter. Granted a big drop in bhp, but still an awesome engine. And the grills open an close depending on the needs on the engine and efficiency, not just to keep bug or things out haha
I'm a BMW guy but Mercedes is killing them in the luxury interior department for 80k they need to step their game up.

Thanks I appreciate it and yeah I tell the truth a lot of other reviewers try to hide and force some positive out of trash cars not me and I will call my Toyota guy up and see if they have a land cruiser because that’s a rare suv to find in my area.

Yes it’s Awd the xDrive system is the Awd and it has different modes like sport, eco, comfort, etc.

That is not a base 5 series at all... base is the 530i ... 530i-turbo 4 cyl...540i-turbo 6 cyl ... m550-turbo v8, upgraded exhaust, suspension, etc m5- turbo v8 as well, but more m performance upgrades

Leasing sucks money tip always try to own whatever just in case you fall on hard times you have something to sell and recoup some sort of money.
@@A1Reviews not really though. If you look at depreciation, maintenance, etc... leasing gives much lower payment and you never have to fix anything. Honestly, money-wise... the options to purchase or lease usually balance out
@@JoeBowaterFS any car will depreciate… as soon as you drive the car off the lot the value goes down so it doesn’t matter. The best way to do it, you save up for the car you really want and call it a day. Making payment every month isn’t fun, you can use that money elsewhere and Ownership is wealth. For the maintenance, if you can’t afford the maintenance on a car you like then you should look for another one.

The lc500 vs the m850i that’s no comparison the bmw will walk over the Lexus on reliability, quality, technology, engine etc
Reliability Lexus takes the cake as well as holding its value and for me the LC500 looks better than the bmw m850 only thing bmw has over the Lexus in my opinion is the technology.
A1 Reviews that’s true but still I’ve been a previous Lexus owner that’s why I prefer bmw, I had an engine oil leak 5 times and they didn’t replace it with a new car instead they pulled the engine and sealed it and for the rest of lease I was scared to death because it made weird noises and got to bmw where I had no problems at all
